Or just lack of Photoshop skills to edit Kimishima's face instead of Iwata's. You people REALLY need to move on from Iwata's death. I can already see the bitching in the next Direct thread about Kimishima being shit because he's not a clone of Iwata. Ugh.

The twist is that it's about Nintendo's 2015 Holiday lineup; Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival, Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon, Yo-Kai Watch, Xenoblade Chronicles X, Mario Tennis Ultra Smash, and Devil's Third.
We have to be realistic. Let's say that after this long wait, a "Xenoblade-only" Direct for the Western release would be disappointing, of course, but if they'll pack the "Year end" Direct with:
Monster Hunter X and Stories localization
Monster Strike localization
Mobile game showcased
Metroid Prime Federation Force date and single player story mode detailed
Zelda TP HD announcement
Star Fox update
Pokken release date
#FE localization date and limited edition (NoE only
)Pikmin 4 announcement
Zelda U trailer, demo to be included in Zelda TP HD
I'd be pretty happy even if the brand new contents there would be limited.
Leave the New Year Direct introduce us the "NX" concept.

Was there much doubt that they wouldn't do one? The holiday season is really important for the industry, so they'll want to pimp their upcoming games, and especially remind people to buy the existing stuff. Since I don't expect to see a ton of new software announcements in their current situation, some more DLC or updates for their big sellers seems like a sensible guess.
C'mon, let's be realistic here. Those two aren't happening.

I think that they have a really gret chance of pumping up a remaster release putting that demo in there. I know, it won't happen. But I'd like to suggest them the idea
About MH: both games will not be confirmed, but I'd reeeeally like to see them confirming at least one of those two. the recent sales milestones of MH4Ultimate in the West should really, and I mean really, push them in not wasting time losing the chance.

I won't lie, when I first heard the news of Iwata's passing, I was hoping it was all just a hoax so that they could re-enact this gif for real. Sadly that wasn't the case.

Winter Direct in December is my guess. Probably Fall Direct did not happened since they were busy with corporate restructuring.

I don't think Kain's intentions were to be dark using that gif but both who have mixed feelings on it and those who enjoy it seem to be taking it that way. The good intentions are not getting through that it's meant to mean that iwata's spirit is still alive and his legacy always lives on in Directs.
Either way, that gif does seem pretty dark now with his passing. I don't think it's a "lighten up" or that it was in poor taste kinda thing when the meaning of the gif has changed for everyone.
EDIT: and we all kind of knew something like this would be coming for a lot of people. This is the first Direct without Iwata, and for some that stings a little still.

However, nice to see they have at least one hitting this year. Doubt it's a single game direct - with such a long gap since the last one it's likely a "years end, get excited for next year" type of direct. They have done one like it for many years now. Keep the bigger ones going, I'd assume.
