Download/Install of games seems to be much better. My system downloaded & installed SW:Battlefront & Tomb Raider 1 within 20-25 minutes (gigabit internet). I still am having lag issues though. My system is SO slow. I guess I'll try hard reseting it tonight.
A few of my apps and 2 games, The Elder Scrolls Online and Borderlands were somehow installed on both my internal and external drives.
Had to delete one copy of each to free up the space.
And the My Games and Apps section is slow and buggy, freezes for a few seconds often.
Testing out the store, that seems to freeze and pause often too.

I sold the game a while ago. I thought it was only free if you had played on Xbox Live the first week after release. Same with 2 and 3.

Anyone who played or plays Gears Ultimate Edition while connected to Live before December 31st (I think that was the cut-off date, anyway) will get the 360 Gears games for free via BC. They said recently that those keys would start going out to people at the beginning of December.
Aside from voice commands which are actually useful of course
It's still used, just not for gestures. I still use it for switching on TV, controlling volume, swapping channels etc.

Which reminds me it should be possible to start voting in the xbox uservoice for the return of gestures .
(all previous topics had been filtered out until now since comments on preview software aren't allowed in uservoice, apparently)well it's not. But I wouldn't be thrilled if is was considering I paid $100 more for it at launch. Weird thing to "like". Just don't use it.

I still wish pressing on the xbox logo button ONCE (when in game) would bring up that left quick menu. Pressing twice is annoying and doesnt always work the first time. Im consistently going back to the dash when all i wanna do is open that left menu. I dont understand why they left it this way.

I was hoping the controller mapping app would give us an option to change it. maybe in the future.
External storage ready, apparently always was there we only see it now because of the speed of this dash apparently. Can't hide games isn't in it yet will come shortly

Its not dead at all,voice commands work great.
Last i heard they were still making games for it so its being supported.
The UI is better but I experienced some nasty ass lag with the espn app.
Would go to a sports highlite,freeze, play,go to the next sports section,freeze,play,etc.
Its definitely allot faster but lag is still there in places.
I wish the PGR series were on the compatibility list. Cause those were amazing racers plus other games I use to play allot on the 360 I have on Steam now so the current list could be better. So PGR would be so sweet to have right now. Hoping the Halo series all get thrown on the list too,i haven't yet bought the MCC cause I'm waiting for them to drop to $20.00 on a possible Black Friday deal. If not then backward compatibility with those games would be good to have.

Not dead. Still really useful for voice commands and auto sign-in (like Windows Hello on Windows 10) and Cortana in the near future. I wouldn't be surprised if we see a more compact camera advertised towards those features in the future.

Yup. It's the best part of the update. Which is good because I snap my friends list in halo 5 because it provides more information than that shitty roster they have.
However new dash did lose one key functionality. You can't see who else is in your friends party.
great. it was a nightmare before so glad to see that. Looking forward to getting home tonight and messing around in it.

Has anyone noticed that games played in which you've earned 0 GS are showing up in the achievements list? They never did before. Maybe they will dissappear once it launches for everyone.
You and me both. The side menu/guide is infinitely more preferable than going to the home screen 99% of the time.
My NeoGAF friends don't even know how to get to the side menu/guide while in game... -_-

Went to settings, system, my xbox and then it said update console so I clicked that
I like the new friends menu being on the left, hate how they've stuck my pinned stuff at the bottom

Its hard to see sometimes, depending on what you have on screen, but there is small text in the top left portion of your screen when you open up the guide that says press X to record game slipt and Press Y to save screenshot.
I want a better method. I NEED a better method actually.

The screenshot is taken instantly, before the pause screen comes up. Then just press Y to save.

Nothing comes up saying screenshot has been saved. I go into game DVR and there's no screenshots either.

Actually, sometimes it disappears for me in Preview. Seems like there are a lot of people in this thread now that aren't in the Preview Program w/ Preview builds of NXOE? Anyway, when the screenshot stuff does show up in the UI of the guide, the text is bold white and the button icons are bold colored - it's no longer dim like it was earlier in the Preview. It would be hard to miss it now because of a dark screen.
I don't know how to trigger the disappearing screenshot UI and functionality - but it happens at inopportune times for me, for sure.
The screenshot is taken the moment you double tap the nexus. Y just saves it. So your screenshot will be fine.
