The common reaction is:

"Cloud. WHAT? Why? Cool but.. HUH?"

It's unexpected with general positive views, but everyone sort of agrees that voting for him was a joke and that his conclusion wasn't really necessary.

It's cool but why? (Oh yeah money and fans like the character.)

There's actual human beings going crazy for the inclusion of Cloud in smash that it warrants reaction videos?

I mean, if it were a Nintendo exclusive FVII remaster or some shit, sure. But this? The Smash community is weird as hell.

I feel like I'm from a different planet than the guy in the first video. FF7 is one of my favorite games ever, and I really enjoy Smash, but I can't think of anything that could happen to cause that reaction. I think I could be given a billion dollars and told that I will be 25 forever and have more self-control and bearing than that guy had over the announcement of a character in a fighting game.

If you follow gaming in any capacity, or love Smash Bros, this news probably popped up on your feed.

You are telling me you waited to get a camera set up, hit the record button, and then watched the damn video all surprised like?

I was laughing out loud.

Not a big FF fan at all but it managed to top Solid Snake for just how fucking weird it was to see in Smash of all things. Don't get me wrong though, I think he looks really neat but man is it a mind fuck.

I remember the meltdowns after Snake was announced as the very first non-Nintendo character in a Smash game. A surprising amount of people were against third party guests in Smash Bros back then.

Fast forward almost a decade and Sonic, Ryu, Pacman, Megaman, Cloud later and we can see how far we've come.

?? I mean I get excited for news on my favourite games too but like this is too much. What was he possibly expecting to get to cause such excitement? Like is 1 new character really worth not being to sit in your seat??? I almost want to say this is fake lol. People can have their fun but jeez dude I've seen calmer FFRemake and Shenmue reactions.

Youtubers tend to have these things set up to catch stuff like this on film.

The Direct was scheduled. Not hard to do.

Besides you just need your phone to recorded yourself, old man ;p

Youtube is full of reaction videos for far less significant things. They'll eventually be as prevalant as those top 10 videos

I like max's the most so far. Just because he was still weirded out that cloud was in explorer's on the 3ds and then this happens and he completely loses it lol

I'm really disappointed at how a lot of these youtubers didn't recognise the FFVII OST as soon as the first drum plays.

Well, there's not really a connection with Cloud and Nintendo lol. That's what makes Maximilian Dood's reaction genuine. He knew what it was from the very beginning.

I pretty much reacted the same way internally. The Omnislash cut at the very end was incredible. Was half expecting Sephiroth to just show up lol.

I think I audibly said "dang, that's cool", and that was it.

So they hit the record button with everything pre-set up for the very purpose of making a reaction video.

I mean, I guess if you like that sort of thing, but I personally would rather watch someone analyzing the video ala Vesper Arcade.

If that makes me an old man, that's fine.
