Max is a HUGE FF7 fan and recently completed an FF7 playthrough on twitch, so it's clear he knew it was coming when it started.
I'm not much of an FF7 guy, but how they did the trailer INSTANTLY made me think FF7

Just got back from work and I haven't been paying attention to any news all day. It took me well over a minute of watching that video to before I realized that it was real. I had the volume pretty low and I was kind of half watching it but I kept waiting for it to be fake and waiting and waiting and then wow what a surprise it's actually real.
Sephiroth should be an assist trophy at least, make it happen Sakurai!

Reaction videos aren't my thing either but this is a pretty rude and ignorant thing to say.
People find them fun. They get hyped by announcements and these videos are a way to share that excitement with others. I don't really like them but I think it's obvious why others do.
I will say that some of them are extremely annoying though. I can't stand Etika.

And yes, it seems very few people watching a Nintendo Direct immediately recognized the now and always to be famous stars in the sky beginning to FF7.
That's the moment when I was legit shook, and very confused as to what was about to come. Plus, on the North American stream, it didn't identify it as Smash Bros. first like it appears to have done on other streams.

I don't think it really has anything to do with validation.
People express things in different ways, I don't see the big deal. Let them do as they like.

Max's was pretty great. I don't follow the guy, but that downer reaction he had to the recent FF7 port was hilarious too. Dude seems genuinely excited about everything FF7 without hamming it up.
