I didn't know that the WiiU Pro and the DS4 controllers actually function natively under an Xinput wrapper on the link. That is very impressive.

For some reason he tried to pair the Xbox controllers over wireless despite requiring a proprietary hardware connection. I don't know if it was a joke or just ignorance.

Well, was worth the try, especially since it worked with WiiU Pro, which also requires proprietary hardware connection on PC.

(Kind of wish it was supported natively by DS4Windows. Dat battery life :\)

It requires certain Bluetooth drivers, but not proprietary hardware as it connects through Bluetooth.

He also complained about setting up Emulator controllers through the Steam Link, which seemed strange as you can set up the controller inputs on your main computer prior to using the Link, bypassing the issue entirely. Just seems like an arbitrary complaint.

I wonder if you can use the WiiU Gamecube adapter. EDIT: found one entry on Reddit, apparently not native compatibility.

Which are the recommended mouse pad brands?

I use the Steelseries QCK mass. It's a bit small but I don't have a lot of space on my desk. Lasts very long and it's quite good.

Add me on Origin (derExperte) for some Battlefront coop action.

I've added you but I don't have Battlefront. I find it mildly amusing that I'll have you on my Origin and Uplay friends lists but not on Steam.
It's not even remotely amusing, add me on Steam :p

Btw, if there are any Dota fans around, you should really check out the demo/VOD of the first game between EG and Secret that just happened at the Frankfurt Major tournament a few minutes ago. One of the best games of the year I'd say.

MGSV is a really fun game, open world stealth was executed far better than I would have thought. However as was said it lacks that MGS flavor, it's there but not as much as previous titles. Still it seems most hate is directed at the bait and switch story wise from what was advertised and the poor handling of story missions later on with chapter 2. The game would have benefited a lot from some reorganizing and not going overboard during its development. Such as poor chapter 3 and mission 51.

Regardless it's still the most fun I've had with a game this year and I'll be voting for it as my GOTY. dealwithit.jpeg

should've also had several bases like camp omega instead of going open world like they did, game gained nothing from it imo. Even with the games many flaws though, its still amazballs.

That's where I am at as well. Can't really vote for another game in good conscience when I had so much fun with MGSV.

Me too. It was extremely fun, and I didn't even mind the bait and switch much. Only thing that really soured it for me was the cut content and EXTREME/TOTAL STEALTH etc nonsense. Should've been a difficulty mode instead of the way it happened.

Nonetheless, I enjoyed my time with it, though there are a few better games for me to vote above it :p

Chapter 1 of MGS5 and I thought the game could be a strong GOTY contender. Story was enough to keep me engaged and the gameplay was rock solid.

Chapter 2 and the wheels came completely off and the car exploded. Just a mess. EXTREME mission shit in the 'mainline' missions. Stupid long timers for equipment. Unresolved story that was closed nothing. an 'ending' that just existed.

The gameplay was just amazing, but I can't overlook the dumpster fire that it was wrapped in.

memes.

So, today is my birthday (11/20)

This will come to PC, not even a question. And that is a brilliant mindset to have this ease of thought nowadays with Japanese games :)
Only interested in Minecraft from all the Windows store's offerings.
Potato Masher vs. PS4 [Fallout 4 Edition]

Ever since learning from this Potato Masher project, I love watching their newest videos. It's incredible how powerful that similarly priced to consoles PC is.
Today i messed with AC Syndicate graphics options to get best visuals vs. performance ratio. And i find out that 900p upscaled to 1080p with ReShade sharpening is not that bad choice.

Here you can see how 900p to 1080p looks without sharpening and with Sharpening

http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/151243

And this is hop 900p to 1080p with sharpening looks like in compassion to pure 1080p

http://screenshotcomparison.com/comparison/151244
Very impressive and should boost performance quite a bit.

One of my favorite things about MGSV is that I really did feel like the legend come to life. The sandbox really helped the player connect more with snake. All those crazy stories people have had to complete missions really fits with the idea of a legendary soldier everyone is talking about.

I agree that they should have said those extreme missions and the like weren't required. I know a few who got really mad thinking they had to do those.

My eyes! That's too sharp!!! It's also made all the aliasing much more apparent too, especially on the buildings.

I am still tweaking things. But if i drop sharpening a bit it image will be almost identical to 1080p shoot. And biggest change that notices is on trees. Branches are looking worse with sharpening turned on. But in the end after i find nice balance i would be able to run game at 30FPS with Medium settings with HBAO+ and better AA.

MUnited83

For you.
This might not help but I read that Nvidia itself says with a 970, it will not maintain 30 fps with textures set above high or if the shadows are set above medium.

Running at pretty smooth 60fps here with very rare dips on a 970 with everything on Ultra excluding Godrays.

you're tripping. MGSV is amazballs.
It's goddamn terrible and the reason I don't give a shit Kojima isn't in charge of the series anymore. Peace walker was complete utter garbage and MGSV is little better than it.

Yup.

Also, for what it's worth, game was boring as fuck.

If the gameplay wasn't as good as it was, the game would have reached the garbage bin after the first few missions.

Metal Gear Solid V is my second GOTY (first one is Witcher 3), but hell if the game has issues.
Non-existent plot, cut content, microtransactions, repetitive like hell even doing the campaign only, skipping side-ops....still, the gameplay is great, the best of the saga, and there are great moments too in the game.
Sadly it's nothing like what I hoped for.

Also Peace Walker is not terrible at all: the plot has some TERRIBLE things, this is true, the game is also repetitive, and this is a fact.
But.
Repetition is just because, in the end, it was a portable title studied for short sessions from time to time, so in order to increase the lenght the game ends to be repetitive.
Still, is a great game, some side-ops are amazing, but the
Boss AI thing is simply garbage, with all mecha-bosses as well.

It's like, until MGS4, those games had a "realistic" approch (realistic, well, excluding stuff like Psycho Mantis, nanomachines, Cobra units etc), with PW all became sci-fi.

Managed to start AC Syndicate yesterday, seems good so far.
I do wish less games used context sensitive snap to cover though. I've never liked it, this one is no exception.
As far as performance, I settled for high shadows, hbao+ and fxaa and max on the rest which ends up giving me rock solid 60 at 1080p, no dips so far. I may tweak it a bit later. Maybe I'll overclock the 970 and bump up the aa to the next setting if I feel like it.

Wait, that's a guy in the pic?

It just feels like an extra mode you can find in many actions game. honestly.

It's literally just Bloody Palace Mode from Devil May Cry. To be fair looking at any thread or review of this game would have told you that. :p

I thought it was pretty impressive how close they came to that considering it's a doujin game made by a couple of dudes tops.

Also, IMO it's gets more fun the more of the moveset you have unlocked.

How I feel about MGS4. But I agree will be interesting to see the series without him. He kind of had his fill at least story wise after MGS3 and not having the cowriter with him for games after those. Though I know you disagree with me on mgs4. Really all I'm getting at is the series after 3 has been a roller coaster. Some like 4 hate the rest, some like PW hate the rest, some only like the games after 3, etc. MGS now is a bit like RE where you have fans all over the place now.

MGS1-3 had its own setting that you can...well believe or at least accept its whackiness. Bizarre things happen mainly for the sake of bizarre; but from MGS4 onwards it needed to be explained and that's where Kojima shot himself in the foot IMO.

Well, according to some MGSV threads, it's only the gameplay that is considered any good. Everything else is trash to mediocre-tier.
The game has very little story but the little story that is there is alright. Don't like snake being so silent tho, thats annoying. Also it has one of my favorite scenes in gaming, the "you're all diamonds" scene.
ozzy will pm me later about this if he sees it and call me a kojima dick rider, I just now it.

woah now, peace walker is the shit. besides its bullshit boss fights that game is my shit.
Take off the rose coloured shades, man. You're living a lie.

nah that game is hot. is it the best game this year? HA, Witcher 3 came out this year, that game is god tier.

Witcher and MGSV were both pretty disappointing to me this year tbh. MGS might still make it into my Top 10 because the gameplay was so good but Witcher I couldn't really play more than a few hours of, couldn't be bothered after that.

The interesting thing is Kojima oversaw the development ofan incredibly impressive engine and some of the deepest and polished gameplay in a AAA game ever, Konami has an easy path to a Kojima-less MGS VI.

That throwing stick stunt of yours has boomeranged on us.
I just noticed the home button on the 360 controller launches big picture mode again in windows 10. Glad they added that functionality back.

I'm still really curious if everyone that asked for the free Vendetta - Curse of Raven's Cry also got a key for the busted Raven's Cry and why they'd give a key for that to people that already owned it.

maybe its cause i came into witcher 3 not expecting much. Witcher 2 if i had to rate it would be a 6/10, which isn't a bad score, its slightly above average. Witcher 3 tho blew my mind, it fixed all the issues i had with w2 and is a lot more interesting story wise. I love it, 10/10. Still have the game installed, waiting for the 2nd expansion before i hop back in and plow through both expansions.

Witcher 3 wasn't bad, but I don't think I'll have it too high on my list. For example I know for certain I'll list dying light above it. Was a great improvement over Witcher 2 and basically what that game should have been. But it still has that bit of euro jank and Weaker than I would like combat. Still the overall package is quite nice and I want to play the DLC at some point.

They talked something about missing preoder, maybe that's why? (As a reason why they couldn't give correct copies directly from steam)

Is Soma seriously a 20GB download? What makes it take up the same amount of data as Fallout 4, MGSV, and the Witcher 3 base game?

Ugh I really want to play Dying Light but it looks like the discount is going to stay at 50% for only the base game until the last DLC comes out sometime next year.
