Austin Davis starting is at least more defensible than McCown starting. They can maybe see it he is good enough to be a caretaker starter next year if the rookie they draft needs to sit awhile. I liked Davis as a backup in STL, but his arm will always limit him. But he is a try hard really nice guy that coaches love. He doesn't have the talent to be an asshole, to turn the phrase a bit

Gotta figure JFF will get cut next year. No new coach will want the distraction. Pettine is making sure it all goes down in flames when he is fired

I still can't understand how any player at any level could belive that sliding on a final drive against the sideline makes any sense. That's a huge deficit of personal awareness.

Or not calling a TO when the headsets went haywire, which is why so much time was lost right before the play. He is definitely not a starter. He has the same issues as Manziel does from within the pocket, and more games showing he hasn't corrected them

But this is still Manziel's fault. Whether it was dumb of the Browns to put conditions on his outside the facility partying or not, he promised he wouldn't do it. It will all work out though. He gets out of Cleveland. It's all any player can ask for

This is a guy who was coached by Jeff Fisher, Brian Schottenheimer and Detective Frank Cignetti.

Of course the poor sod doesn't understand football.

Kroenke has agreed to take on the Chargers as equal partners in LA. Previously, he only offered them the chance to be a tenant in the stadium he owned, which the Chargers balked at. Now, they would be equals. Spanos hasn't agreed to it but no reason he wouldn't

That should do it. Those will be the LA teams in 2016. Raiders are stuck but the league wants Davis to sell the team before they help that franchise anyway

Nah, McCown made sense because they thought they had a playoff defense. Try to win for two months then move to your draft pick. Helps that they thought he needed seasoning.

At this point you may as well just cut Manziel. He clearly is done within that organization. I think Pettine might just be flat done in the NFL. Hard to believe someone could be a bigger embarrassment to that organization than Manziel but he certainly managed it.

You are so right about Pettine. Has any other coach ever let things get personal like this with a player? He is starting a worse player at QB because he doesnt like the other guy.

Davis should turn heel and tell the league to fuck off and bring the raiders to SA. Won't need their help for a new stadium either. Do it Mark fucking do it!

QB play, or even offensive play in general was not the major issue here. (It was not great, but it wasn't the tire that is the the defense.)

The defense is inexcusable.. Not with the amount of cap space this goddamn team has in it. It boggles me that Pettine didn't even throw O'Neil under the damn bus to save his job.

I really hope that the new coach keeps Flip..
For his faults and there were some, flip has shown he is somewhat competent and can be a positive influence.

They don't think he has enough money, and they thought he should have gone in with the 49ers on the stadium in Santa Clara. But he wants a new stadium in Oakland that Oakland doesn't want to build, and doesn't seem to like the Yorks (who does?)

The natural choice for boban is the cowboys. Chargers are the cowboys of the afc minus owls of course.

If is much better this year, and next year he will even have WRs that can catch and an OL that can block. Plus if you made it through Foles game against the Bengals then everything is up from there.

I'm a fan of Romo but he's broken now and can't counteract the rest of the whole being-the-Dallas-Cowboys thing.

First NFL gear I ever had was an Emmitt Smith jersey and a Cowboys hoody which I was given when a cousin from Texas came over to visit us. #ZvonFacts

Don't forget the norv connection too, see it's a seamless transition. Jerry is one of the best owners in the nfl god awful GM tho and I can't overstate that enough he's fucking awful at it. We have some genuinely good guys you can root for. Witten is all class, Sean Lee is great, Byron Jones looks special in his rookie year and our oline is pretty likeable.
