Based on publicly available records, the lobbyist Amber Stoner’s name appeared on Rubio’s credit card statements at least 10 times in 2007, his first year as House speaker:

So who is Amber Stoner? There is an Amber Stoner listed in the Florida Lobbyist Directory. If this is the same Amber Stoner whose travel Rubio paid for, she is a lobbyist for HCA Healthcare, based in Tallahassee.

I remember the rumor about Bill Clinton, where he took regular flights on the lolita bang plane. But nothing seemed to come of it, unfortunately. Could have been Chafee's opening.

He's also enjoyed a cozy relationship with state Rep. Esteban Bovo, who's a lobbyist by day, and Bovo's wife, also a lobbyist, who ended up on a couple of air trips with Rubio that were charged to that GOP credit card. Another young health care lobbyist, Amber Stoner, also shows up as a recipient of 10 paid flights with Rubio on his Republican Amex.

opposition research isn't cheap. it's possible his opponent simply didn't have the funds or resources to dig up enough credible info to stick.

I know a dude that does opposition research for a living. He's willing to say all KINDS of shit off the record that would never make it into a campaign.

presidential election though? all bets are off. There's enough money flying around in those to bury just about anyone. And if they can't find something, fuck it they'll make it up.

No one cares about their conclusions. They reported the exact same info that was in RustyNail's post, which you tried to discredit based on the source.

We now know for a fact that he was taking her on an awful lot of flights on the GOP's dime.

It seems like this stuff was coming out around October, so maybe there wasn't enough time to find anything concrete or there just wasn't anything to find.

I want to believe, but it just seems like a loose, connect the dots kinda rumor. Whoever puts this out needs to find something to tie it together. They can't just float out the credit card statements and foursquare stops and expect it to stick. Who knows though? Maybe the anti-establishment types will eat it up as much as we are right now.

i have no regrets, it was an amazing rumor.

i just searched for it again to see if there were any followups...but nope.

Whoaa lol that Rubio rumor might true. I still doubt it would sink him; I feel like we should have heard about this sooner. So it still doesn't seem legit, yet.
