This is a huge disappointment. I see where they're coming from but adding the new characters as dlc seemed like such an obvious choice. DLC doesn't have to be canon. I will continue to wait for the game to drop further then.

I plan on seeing TFA soon but haven't gotten hyped up over it, so I am not to particularly upset that TFA content won't be coming. More content would be nice though, so I guess I would prefer having it over not. I would much rather them work on offline Walker Assault or offline flight missions than TFA content thought.

Its been a little over a month since the game came out and the movie just came out last week. I don't expect any info on the first DLC until January. Plus, they did give a numerical breakdown of what will be in the DLC.

The Battle of Jakku occurred only a year after Endor iirc.

I get they want to save it for a sequel, but it seems odd not to capitalize on the insane VII hype right now. I bet many people would pick up the game and buy the season's pass just to play as Kylo-Ren right now.

None of these characters could fight someone like Darth Vader and last for little more then a few seconds.

I mean you could dip into the "new" EU and get an Inquisitor from Rebels and that can lead the rebels to have Obi-Wan for the sake of balance. Too be honest I hope instead of Obi-Wan we get Rey and then get Kylo Ren.

Both, most likey. Battlefield 5 is set for Fall 16, and Battlefront 2 is probably already in very early preproduction for a Fall 18 release.
