We're talking about the same universe where Darth Maul gets beat by a padawan due to a 3 second delay after a flip

Definitely not in the higher eschelons of jedi fights. Say what you want about the pre-quel trilogy, but their fights at least made jedi's and sith seem like they were feared/revered for a reason.
Pretty close to my rankings, although I would switch ANH and AotC. As bad as AotC's duels are, ANH's duel is just hilariously awful.I would go for the finale duels:
1. ROTJ
2. TESB
3. TFA
4. TPM
5. ROTS
6. ANH
7. AOTC
really liked the fight in the end of TFA, visuals were fantastic, so much emotions ....but that was like really way too short.
i also liked the darth maul fight in TPM, but it was ..unsatisfying as what happened
anyway this fight was cool as shit
also dual of fates track yoooooo <33333
Darth Maul was the only worthwhile thing to come out of TPM. They had to retcon his death to bring him back for the animated series he was so badass.
Absolutely top 3
So it makes perfect sense? You're comparing actual sith lords and Jedi council masters to untrained newbies decades after the fall of the Jedi.
The prequels made them look like circus acrobats, not warriors.
And Luke suddenly making a one-in-a-million shot after turning off his targeting computer, despite no Jedi training in any sort of piloting or torpedo shooting, was earned?I disliked the part where Rey just closes her eyes while Kylo patiently waits for her to power up, and then she suddenly goes from holding her own to kicking his ass. It didn't feel earned.
Exactly, or that if they hadn't parried that they would've been killed.Because we feel in OT and NT (New Trilogy? ) that they really have swords...not like in the PT where it's like sticks not heavy.
Well considering the context, he handled 7 exhausted Jedi. Ahsoka every time she fights him spends most of the fights running away and or parrying.General Grievous goes from single-handedly destroying 7 Jedi at once (3 of which were Masters) in the first cartoon to not even being able to handle Ahsoka in the second cartoon... >_>
The tension was in just how unrefined the fight was and how much she was losing. The cinematography was so on point. The actors nailed the emotion as well.Kylo vs Finn had tension because you didn't know which way they were going to go because it was clear at that point he didn't have force powers and Kylo was a dead man walking after what Chewie did to him and was bleeding all over the place. As soon as Rey got the lightsaber there was no way she wasn't winning that fight. I don't see how anyone can honestly say they didn't expect that outcome. There was no tension at all in that fight. Had they not had the Finn fight first it might have been another story.

Best SW duel right here:
Man, Adam Driver gave such a good performance all around, but especially in the duel. Kylo feels exactly like what he is: an unstable but potent threat whose own issues are bleeding through (and out.) The moment when he tries to turn Rey... That could have easily been cheesy and I thought it was perfect. Aside from that, his physical mannerisms and attitude was on-point. I really think his performance in the following films is going to be phenomenal.
So what tactical advantage do you get by doing sick sideflips during a swordfight... Sigh, what were they thinking??
This is the closest thing in the movie history we have for Link VS Ganondorf.
Holy... this is amazing
For me it's definitely sitting comfortably in third place:
I. Luke vs. Vader in ROTJ
II. Luke vs. Vader in TESB
III. Kylo Ren vs. Rey/Finn in TFA
IV. Vader vs. Obi-Wan in ANH
this fight was cool as shit
I'm not sure if it's supposed to be a tactical advantage but a cheap and dull way to visually show how powerful Jedi and Sith are. Would I be afraid if Kylo Ren came at me with a light saber? A little. If Anakin from PT came at me I'd be terrified because there's not much I can do against that stupid craziness. So what tactical advantage do you get by doing sick sideflips during a swordfight...
