We had several confirmations that steamspy data is very accurate

This winter sale Final Fantasy 7 reached 1 mln sales, for a game that's almost 20 years old, it's very impressive deed, of course it's nowhere near top steam sellers of all time but it was released relatively recently and it is a singleplay game.

Do you think it's a good indicator how FF7R could sell on steam?

I don't think it's a good indicator of anything really beyond that FF7 is a classic.

I'd wager 7R would sell better just on virtue of being not an ancient game that a lot of the fanbase has bought a half dozen times by now.

I wish they'd update the game with the additions of the newer versions, with a high-speed and no-encounter modes. Also, removing the SE Account DRM would be fantastic.

Didn't it also recently reach 1 million sold on PSN?

It makes me happy how many people still want to play this game despite the aged graphics.

A true classic.

I think it did for PSP, PS3 and Vita. Doubt the PS4 version has hit 1 million yet.

Does 7 have the speed boosters that 8 and 9 have on Steam?

No, just a "character booster":

With the Character Booster you can increase your HP, MP and Gil levels to their maximum, all with the simple click of a button, leaving you to enjoy your adventure.

You could use something like Cheat Engine to increase the overall game speed, though, if the battles are too slow.

I'd like to see a stat that shows how many players played it to completion, and how many stopped playing before leaving Midgard.

FF Games on Steam have boosters, what? Don't tell me they put in microtransactions in these classics.

If they're just regular cheats, I'm ok with that.

I don't know if you aware, but the DRM in the Steam version is only a one time activation and than you can play offline forever.

Just regular cheats.

If you haven't yet, install the shit out of this mod:

The Reunion b04

It includes a retranslated script, better performance (60 FPS battles!), menu enhancements, model improvements and much more. And the best thing is that everything is modular: you can install whichever module you want and ignore the rest.

Seriously, it makes the PC version of VII the best version by far.

No achievements mean anything.

seriously? or are you being sarcastic?

No achievements mean anything.

I think the implication was that it's much simpler to 'cheat' the achievements on steam using an unlocker. I'm sure there's a way to do it on PSN too but it's not going to be anywhere as easy. But I agree, achievements really don't mean anything. Which is why I don't care when people use an unlocker.
