So it's a Yakuza game then.
Maybe we'll get a PSX cycle going. Next year 0 is out, 1 remake announced, then 1 remake is out and 6 is announced.

I agree it's a good game, but definitely the worst of the souls games so far. Still glad to see Splatoon getting some nods. From a pure gameplay perspective, it's the game that will give you the most fun on the list

Hmm.. Disagree. It is my favorite souls game. Demons comes close though.. I dont think Splatoon is better than MGSV from a gameplay perspective let alone Bloodborne. In the end though all of this is so subjective. That's what makes it fun.

Judging by the list, I'm guessing they are with the "mechanics>>>>>> narrative" people. Witcher probably won't make it to the top 10 in that regard.

I see alot off "not as good as other souls games" or "more like the other souls" games but looking at it in isolation as a 2015 release its a great game and one of the best of the year. sorry that some of you dont like BB better than the other souls games but not everyone likes those other obtuse games. I couldnt get into them at all. I give them credit for changing what I hated about those games that made me put them down.
Really looking forward to SFV. Arcade sticks ready!

I mean it's a BS award but how did they do anything better than everyone else this year?
I got 3 games of note for my Wi U. 2 re-masters for my 3DS. It wasn't a good year from them.
Oh god! Didn't even catch that lol!!!
But my taste hasn't aligned up with this site in a while, so I'm not too surprised by their picks. I'm just glad that most outlets picked the right game.

Bloodborne is fantastic but the level design and boss battles felt similar to last 3 souls games. I fine with bloodborne winning but MGS V (even its not something new) felt lot of fresh in terms of core game-play and design, also kojima productions should have won the studio of the year for their optimized engine, great looking character, visuals and performance etc

They are correct. Nintendo knocked it out of the park this year.
Hope this has some actual SFV information. Feel like we know nothing about this game outside of the actual mechanics and gameplay. Want to know what the online stuff is going to be like.

Nah, I think 2015 was one of their worst years in term of releases. The competitions weren't just up to snuff. Who else have multiple releases that were worth a damn in 2015.

But always trust in Edge, Bayo 2 last year and now Bloodborne, they know what's best. Though it was to be expected as Bloodborne is the only ten they handed out this year..

In all seriousness, from a gameplay perspective Bloodborne is far better than the other Souls game, the other games were better in other areas, but certainly not mechanically, especially Dark Souls 2, which was very clunky compared to the other games (still better than 99% of the games in the market though).
Bloodborne also had the best world building and lore, Demon's and Dark 1 had much better NPCs though (especially Demon's), and Dark 2 had a lot more content than the other three games, significantly so. Magic builds weren't as obtuse as they were in Bloodborne as well.
Demon's is my personal favorite because it had the best combination of everything, but I still recognize Bloodborne as the best Souls game mechanically.

no i think The Witcher 3 will win NeoGAF. PC community is very strong here
That actually surprised me, since empire focuses on the narrative part of video games. Bloodborne had the best story in the year imo, but I didnt expect empire to choose it over games that had a more traditional storytelling method.

I agree, though their releases always seem sparse, they deliver in replayability, charm, and content. Especially this year. Monster Hunter, Mario maker, Xenoblade X and Splatoon are all games I can easily see someone putting hundreds of hours into.
