Game is unlocked? I thought it is unlocked in 6 hours?
Or you mean people with review copies?

Noticed that the draw distance for stuff could probably be farther out. anyone know how to do that? I'm at work so I can't check to see if there are .ini files or not.

Someone said that this was mentioned on the official stream. Apparently this was the best draw distance possible without the game crashing. Didn't watch that part of the stream myself, though.

Dragon's Dogma runs at a constant 60 fps, at a resolution of 2560x1440 and maxed out settings for me. I did leave off AA simply because I dislike FXAA blur.
My PC is running a Core i7 4790k, GTX 970 and 16GB of ram. DD is installed on my SSD.

I feel like there is still more headroom, so if your monitor is higher than 60hz, you could take advantage of that easily.

I have distance on medium and HDR on low, still didn't get to Gran Soren, so I can't really comment on performance, but at least in Cassardis I get 60 at 2880x1620, I have a 680.

Try GeDoSaTo for SMAA instead.

I don't know why but Im getting way worse performance in the Steam version. In the leak one, my fps was at 130-150fps at max settings with 60% gpu usage. Now I'm getting 80-90fps with 30% usage at 1080p. Tested 4K and got the same performance!

Does anyone know how to fix this?

Specs. I7 5930k / Titan X / 64gb RAM

Edit: I installed the newest nvidia drivers before the official launch. Just reverted back and the problem still persists.

You could try turning distance up and see how it goes. As long as HDR is low you should be getting 60. With HDR on high I couldn't get 4k without dropping under 60, without it I can with a 780ti.

Ah ok, it's not anything I'm too concerned about, just something that's noticeable. Thanks for the info.

I have an i7 4770k and a AMD 390 and I get a constant 60fps at 2560x1440. Good stuff.

Desktop: G3258 CPU, GTX 960, 8GB ram, 60 fps locked at 1080P with high settings

Alienware Alpha: i3 CPU, GTX 860M GPU, 4GB ram, 50-60fps with high settings.

My rig, all at stock speeds:

970
i7 5820k
16GB DDR4 @ 2400Mhz
Installed on an HDD

Running the game at 3200x1800 downsampled to 1920x1080 (w/ GeDoSaTo) with every setting in game at max and i'm getting a near flawless 60FPS.

780GTX 2400x1500 it's 60 fps... BUT only in the first areas, around the big city there are drops, and the gpu utilization is not maxed at all.

I get some strange drops to 50fps on my 980 Ti in the beginning city. (down from 140)
Everything maxed at 1440p.

I see everyone downsampling the game from 4K. I wonder if something weird is going on

Thats weird. I'm running it maxed on a 970 @1440p with ReShade applied and the lowest I've seen it go was 58 fps.

It's getting worst. I just can't hold 60 fps, even without downsampling and using my native resolution of 1680x1050.

There are definitive a lot of zones were frame rate takes a hit around the capital city.

I will have to check if lowering some options does the trick, gpu usage is at 50-60%, that's kind of weird, the only other game that has this behavior that I can think of right now is Arma3...

On my shitty PC (Phenom II 955, 4GB RAM, GTX 460 1 GB somewhat clocked) at 1080p it runs at 60 fps most of the time with everything at medium, although it likes to move alot between 55-60 for no reason. Also, sometimes it kinda craps for a lil moment when I turn the camera around.

Weirdly it runs worse on Cassardis than on the overworld (didn't reach Soren yet).

Running it all maxed with HBAO+ at 2880x1620 (DSR), holds at 60 99% of the time.
2160p is also at 60 in Gran Soren at least, but I need to turn OC settings to smooth it out

Does anyone know what's up with the game not saving my resolution? Using DSR, but each time the game restarts it drops back to my native res.

I'm using the ps3 to pc save data tool that someone on here created. Has that been shown to reduce fps? I could swear I was getting a solid 120 in the tutorial but when I load my game it's anywhere from 60-110.

What are the biggest fps altering options, HDR and draw distance? Dropping the draw distance to medium gives me an average of about 20-30 fps. I haven't tested HDR yet.

Are people preferring frame rate unlocked and RTSS lock and Vsync off? I'm just using 60 limit in game options and Vsync on. Seems fine at the moment.

Yeah, runs pretty good with near flawless 60 fps.
GTX 970

Same settings with Gedosato but HDR set to low.

The game seems CPU bound to be honest. My CPU usage is at 100% on Gran Soren and Cassardis, where everyone reports FPS drops.

I have a i5 - 3570k OC'd

Can you take a screenshot where you have your CPU at 100%? I have a similar CPU (4670K at 4.2) and I am quite sensitive to drops. However, the only time I have seen my CPU maxed out like that is when I was having a skype video call going on the 2nd screen at the same time.

I haven't gotten too far into the game yet, but outside of one 1 second drop coming out of a building facing the beach in Cassardis, I don't think I've had any drops below 60.

4690k at stock

8GB DDR3

All high settings except HDR on low and distance scaling at medium.

I'll take screenshots later today where I take a hit into my CPU usage.

I am getting some occasional stutter, and I was wondering if the pacing was a bit iffy... I'll try RTSS tonight.

You should either increase your resolution with GeDoSaTo or maybe put distance on high. I can hold 60fps at higher resolutions with a much weaker graphics card (2GB GTX 680) using the same settings.

Currtenly playing at 2880x1620, and I'm keeping a pretty solid 60fps, a few drops here and there.

Still didn't reach Gran Soren, though, that's when I'll choose the resolution I'll actually use to play the entire game. I'm expecting that I'll have to drop it to 2560x1440, but on a 970 you should have no issues with even 3200x1800, I believe.

I find it hard to believe that I can't get a solid 120fps with a gtx 980ti. My cpu is on the weaker side, so if this game uses more cpu power than anything else I guess that is why.

Anyone else getting weird performance issues as they get deeper into this?

When I started out I was getting locked 60 at 4k and 120 - 144 at 1080p. As I've gotten further in though my performance has gotten worse and worse, now to the point where I'm getting 40 - 70 at 1080p.

i7 4770k, 32 GB RAM, Geforce 980.

Like I said in an above post, in the tutorial I was getting a solid 120 fps. After using the save tool and transporting myself 20 hours into the future in the game I find my performance is much worse. I thought it was the tool at first, but maybe it's just an issue with the game.

The game has pretty excellent performance but I've run into a few dumb things:

Game likes to randomly minimize its window during FMV cutscenes

Setting resolution to anything lower than desktop resolution fails

A couple of the flyby menu bits have inexplicably bad performance although they report perfect FPS

Get 1080P/60 without breaking a sweat though

[Cross post from the main thread]

I'm getting a micro-stutter about 2-3 times a second. Did some sideways running in empty alleyways in Gran Soren to test. Framerate was 135+ at all times, G-Sync on. Is it a part of Dragon's Dogma that I won't be able to smooth out? I booted up HL2E2 to see if that had it, but it was smooth sailing the whole way.

Single 970 in single display performance mode, power management mode = max performance, VR pre-rendered frames = 1. Tried both with GeDoSaTo on (borderless windowed) and without it (normal).

Really enjoying the game on my desktop Core i5-4690K, 280X which runs it pretty much perfectly on highest details. I've only run into a sound glitch where it fed some pretty loud noise into my headphones just before an FMV.

I've now just tried running this on my Surface Pro 4 Core i5-6300U with Intel HD 520 integrated graphics and, during the hour that I played it doing an early escort quest, it actually runs quite playably at 720p (1280x800) and a mix of low-medium settings. Seems like a solid port.

I'm having problems getting my laptop to run Dragon's Dogma decently. I can't even get a clean 30 fps at the lowest settings.

Here are the specs:
i5 6300HQ 2.3 GHz
8 GB Ram
GTX 960M 4GB GDDR5

I know they are below the recommended, but I feel like I should be able to run it at 60 fps somehow. This laptop runs League of Legends, CS:GO, Rocket League, and pretty much every other game decently. Anyone have an Idea?

There is this note on the steam page: "Some high end integrated graphics chips and modern gaming laptops with a discrete GPU may work but have not been tested, nor are they officially supported by Capcom." Luckily I have a desktop pc, but I hope that doesn't mean I can't play it on my laptop.

As previous posters said the game is CPU bound due to being DX9, so your laptop CPU might not cut it.
