Ehhhh... they aren't reliable. The Know also doubled down on Silent Hills becoming exclusive to XB1...

But they also leaked DS3... (SH was a dumb moment though)

Would be surprising if Sony also has ME marketing. Not only because it is EA, but ME/Bioware and Microsoft also have a great relationship, and their games do really well on Xbox.

Also, that would start to be a lot of games Sony would have to market this holiday. CoD, Watch Dogs 2, and of their exclusives, whatever the new Star Wars game will be, any new games that would be announced at E3, maybe even FFXV.

Takeaways:

  • 87 fewer titles released on PS4 and Xbox One than time aligned PS3 and Xbox 360 (20% fewer disc based games this gen vs last)
  • 86 fewer titles have released with GameRanking scores at 69.9 or below
  • 39 titles released this gen have not been reviewed, compared to only 4 last gen (title must have 5 or more reviews to be included as "reviewed")
  • Higher review scores are more likely on PS4 and Xbox One as a % of all review scores given
  • 33% of games released this gen have scored an 80.0 or above, versus 31% of games released last gen

Welfare, You are right. Mass Effect is heavily associated with xbox. A PS4 marketing deal would be a real scoop.
But as Battlefront went quite well it's not impossible that EA discovered their feelings for Sony.
And in the end it's EA's decision, not Bioware's I guess.

/v/ leaked bloodborne and that doesn't make them reliable

Not saying they are reliable, just pointing out that they got something right. I think they've only done 2 leaks, so 50:50 right now. Let's see if this if they get this one right (probably not).

66:33. They were also right about Tomb Raider's one year console exclusivity. But, They are not any more reliable than most enthusist site. They just might have some insider connections that they most likely lost by blabbing their sh#t to everyone...

Started to play The Order 1886.

You know I consider TW3 combat bad... so bad the breaks a little all the good points the game have.

I can say now The Order shooting mechanics are even worst... I wish to stop to play a lot of times... it breaker anything good in the game.

Why they are launch so bad gameplay games this gen?

I will finish the campaign one time but man I need to stop and have a break to play it again after some shooting part.

I think the fact that Mass Effect is a WRPG will also influence which company will get marketing rights to the game.

Mass Effect tends to have a more natural appeal on Xbox One, I think is a good idea focus the marketing on PS4 to increase sales, but I'm sure MS would like to have this deal.

Anyway, what will be curious at the end of the year will be CoD marketing with Playstation and Battlefield 5 with Xbox if the rumour that MS secured is true.

Weird, even people who end up not liking The Order usually recognize that the shooting feels great.

Thought this might interest some of you. AMD has reported that PS4+XB1 shipments have exceeded the 50 million mark, with them shipping ~20 million more than the 360+PS3 in the same time frame. (360+PS3 = 38.8m)

Credit goes to Zhuge.

Can we get an update to ethomaz's tag? It just reads like he wants to say that the PC version of GW is better than the PS4 console.

I really want you know that the PC version of Garden Warfare is better than the PS4 version.

They aren't amazing but they are definitely functional and overall the guns felt pretty satisfying. The main issue with the shooting (mechanically speaking) was that weapons were far too accurate.

Don't see why it would have more appeal on X1
Just look at witcher 3 for eg or even fallout .
In NA i would say the fan base would be split and WW it's not even a contest .

Let's see how much Sony shipped, I'm guessing 37.5m/ 38m.

Good chance that Xbox One already surpassed 20 million mark.

These aren't the same cases, Mass Effect franchise was born on Xbox 360, PS3 only had a simultaneous launch on the third game (The split on NPD was 4:1).

Should also put an end to MS doing shit WW. MS ain't shipping +2 million additional consoles that won't be sold for another 6-9 months. Retailers would not accept that many extra consoles.

What's wrong with the shooting mechanics in The Order? The game certainly has a lot of issues, but the shooting feels great. Most of the guns really pack a punch and you can blow limbs or even heads off enemies. I especially love decapitating them with the arc gun. Perhaps it's not the shooting mechanics you don't like, but the enemy level design instead? Now that is pretty bad at times.

This is more a perception relative to PS4 than an actual thing.

What if they take back all those Lego bundles noone wanted, repack them to division bundles or so and sell them in once again.
Would they be counted as new ones and therefore twice?

But it is doing shit worldwide. We have sales evidence from the biggest RotW markets showing very lopsided ratios in favour of the PS4.

AMD shipping their parts =/= MS or Sony shipping the console.

So, according to the AMD investors' report

Advanced Micro Devices Inc. said revenue fell 23% in the fourth quarter, amid lower sales of processors used in personal computers and a decline in game console royalties
http://www.wsj.com/articles/amd-fourth-quarter-revenue-tumbles-23-but-loss-narrows-as-costs-fall-1453242928

I wonder why there's a decline in the royalties for console APUs? Are the royalty structures front-loaded, or possibly related to # of consoles sold (since there were more sold this FY than last, right?)?

This also means that Sony/MS are making more per console sold now, which increases profit and also gives them another chance for a price drop while still being profitable.

Witcher 3 was not even on PS3 last gen.
NPD has showed us software wise western software in NA is split with PS4 having the edge .
It simply because many 360 guys jump ship early this gen .

If they shipped 1 million LEGO bundles, and no one bought them so retailers sent them back, that is -1 million shipped. This happened with the Wii U in Europe one quarter.

If they repurpose those into another bundle and shipped those, it would be +1 million.

It would equal out.

Mass Effect will be launching day and date between them, and PS4 will have at least a 1.5-2 million unit advantage over One when it does.

Given other titles that once had an Xbox advantage (or even outright exclusivity) showing stronger returns on PS4, I'd say there's a very good chance that Mass Effect will as well.

But The Witcher had no major association with 360. Just the second game was launched later with a modest debut in NPD.

When I played it, the sensation of the actual shooting was fun. The very moment you pull the trigger I mean. It was everything up leading up to that moment. The character and weapon movement just didn't feel right. It felt disconnected. I haven't played much but there was this section early on with what felt like hundreds of enemies running at me endlessly that really tested my patience. Getting the more advanced weapons made me like the game more.

The aesthetic and story I liked; as well as the adventure elements. Does it have branching story paths? Seemed like I was making some decisions along the way.

But they do every year. How long was that AC bundle in the channel or the titan fall and kinect bundles. I remember people all around the world posting day one additions of X1s months after launch. If sony can still ship Vita's then MS can ship plenty of extra X1s.

AC bundle wasn't that over shipped. A few hundred thousand in the US, sure, but that was it. Also, those Day 1 editions would have been a very very tiny amount months after launched. What incentive would one have to purchase one over the regular non day 1 bundle which was plenty in stock and those Titanfall bundles?

Also, 2 million consoles in stock/in shipping is an absurd number to have. Even at launch, the Xbox One had a 900k gap between shipped and sold.

what timeframe are they using tho? 2005 - 2008 with one year less of PS3 sales or both PS3 and 360 same time frame?

2005-2007 for Xbox 360
2006-2008 for PS3

2005-2007 for both would be impossibly low, as combined 360+PS3 did 28.1m.

Well, this isn't the problem with the shooting mechanics. That's bad design in enemy spawning instead and I agree, it does seem like there are infinite enemies at times. It's almost as bad as Uncharted 1 levels of enemy spawning in some sections. However, the actual shooting mechanics are solid. As for branching story paths, I highly doubt it. The game is pretty linear and I'm sure there is only one way to get to the objective.

AMD is in fact comparing shipped to retailer numbers.

I don't know why I kept thinking that both 360 and PS3 both had AMD chips, when PS3 in fact had Nvidia chip. So I thought AMD were comparing chip shipments.

Still, you're right that the 20 million number is probably rounded, and it's also not completely set in stone what they mean with "in the same timeframe", when 360 and PS3 didn't launch at the same time and also had staggered releases.
