Dream of one game localization no one else here would take as their pick

This would be mine. I know there are a few people that'd want it as well, but I doubt it'd be their first choice if they could only choose one. There have been an increase of localizations, which is great, but makes great games falling through the cracks even worse for someone who's excited about that particular game

Disclaimer: the game I mentioned is getting a fan-translation, but it was dropped by the first team and the second one who picked it up is incredibly busy, which means it can take years, if at all, we'd ever get the chance to play the game.

Dragon Quest Heroes: Slime Morimori 3. Rocket Slime's in my top 10 favorite games. I want to play its sequel so bad.

Captain Rainbow.

Because lower tier Nintendo characters need love, too.

Lots of people would pick this. I would have had I not known someone would beat me to it ;)

Hence, I went with:

Wasn't that well received, yet I'd still love to play an English version of it. I do own the JP import so one day I'll fumble my way through it somehow.

I remember when XSEED almost picked it up. Almost.

Pancake Mix

Copied someone else's pancake recipe
I would love to play Star Ocean: Blue Sphere. It released on the GBC and is the only game in the series not to come West except for some smartphone card game a little ways back.

I'm probably not alone when I'm saying Ciel Nosurge... but

Ciel Nosurge

I thought Ciel Nosurge was better as a visual novel (or the straight text translation) than it'd be a wife-sim. I probably wouldn't bother with it if it was localized, even if the story is amazing.

As a retro curiosity, I remember seeing footage for an N64 game called Wonder Project J2 on a VHS tape back before the machine launched. It never left Japan but it caught my attention.

I think it's just an extremely interesting and unique game + the story is fantastic. Even if the sim part isn't great, I can't really think of a game I would want more.
I think there's some value in having the sim part that makes the story even better.

I guess more people than just me wants Last Ranker
(or at least I like to hope so)

So I'll say Planet Laika for PS1:

From Wikipedia:
Planet Laika is a role-playing video game developed by Quintet and Zeque for the PlayStation home game console. The game follows the main character, Laika, through a mission to Mars which forces the player to manipulate Laika's multiple-personality disorder in order to solve puzzles. All the characters in the game have dog heads, a possible reference to the Soviet space dog Laika.

The predecessor to the two Lethal Skies games, which are my favourite air combat games on the ps2. Looks to be more of the same and a good chunk of it is already in English.

if the title didn't say "localization", I'd have picked the G-Saviour game and Gundam: Lost War Chronicles on the ps2, but those two games are already almost entirely in comprehensible english, so.

If I dig into old games, I think my pick would be Far East of Eden on... I don't even remember, SNES ?

If I follow you guys in the old but not too old I think it would be Last Ranker on PSP.

DreamMix TV World Fighters

Yes that is Bomberman, Simon Belmont, Twinbee, Optimus Prime, Fang the Wolf, the kid from Beyblade, Master Higgins and Optimus Prime on the cover. The game also has characters like Solid Snake, a moai head from Parodius, and Megatron.

It's a multiplayer platform fighter like Smash Bros and Playstation All-Stars. I have no clue if it is good or not but I'd love to play it.

Dragon Quest X, loved everything about IX and X improve all of that plus more.
I might be the only one dreaming about a Dragon Quest MMO though.

I may not be alone in this, but the one game that I was really pulling for to release in the west somewhat recently was Shining Resonance on PS3. So, off the top of my head, that'd be my pick, though I'm sure there are other older titles I would possibly place over it.

How have I never heard of that game? Amazing.

I've always thought the aspect of training up your dragons would have gone over really well, after the success of Pokemon, Advance Wars, and Fire Emblem in the west.

IA/VT Colorful on Vita.

I want more rhythm games!

Although I've heard the Japanese version has a lot of English in it, so maybe I can still play it someday.

It's doesn't have a lot of english, but it's extremely easy to navigate. Language barrier is very low!

I would love to have all of these, too!

My pick:
Okaeri! Chibi-Robo! Happy Richie Ōsōji!

niche game coming out after the 3DS launched had no chance. =(

Does anyone know the title of that PSP or Vita game which is basically just a journey through a Japanese countryside? Always wanted to try that

I'm probably not alone, but Yukikaze for the original Xbox. I know some other unlocalized games I'm CERTAINLY not alone on.

I'd really like to play it but I haven't gotten around to bothering importing it.

Oh right, and Kumatanchi by Vanillaware and character designs by Shigatake of Habanero-tan fame.

There's a fan-translation for this one, isn't there?

I'm probably not the only person who would be interested in it, but: Moon Remix RPG Adventure would be really cool to try. It seems like the spiritual predecessor to Undertale in a lot of ways.

I think you might be referring to the Fuuraiki series. Great choice if so. I'd love to play the third one on the Vita.

Edit - Beaten.

You are talking about the photographer on a journey through Japan's countryside, right ? I don't remember the title :-/

Edit - Beaten by a great Gaffer, not even mad :p

I'm seeing a hell of a lot of (most) games in this thread that plenty of people would pick lol.

I can think of tons of JRPG's I'd want, but none that no-one else would look at and not think "yeah, I'd want that too", I'll have to think about it.

The Silver Case.
Grasshopper Manufacture's first game. I've finished it with a walkthrough, but didn't know what the hell was going on most of the time.

Alternatively, Mizzurna Falls.

That's not it, but I'd definitely play it!
PSP and PS3. If you're talking about Boku no Natsuyasumi, that is.
Uncultured gaijins aren't worthy of that series for Sony.

Edit: Oh, you're talking about Fuuraiki 3.
