Final Fantasy XV release date reveal on March 30th in 6300 cp theater by Kinda Funny

It's a pipe dream but it would be nice if they could honor Nomura, and have him speak about the project.

Regardless of how the game ended up, this was his baby, and it must be surreal to see it finally realized, despite it may not being exactly what he intended it to be.

Nomura seems to have greatly distanced himself from XV after leaving the project. Can't say I blame him though.

I still find it hard to reconcile such Nomura concepts and ideas being executed by anyone other than Nomura, myself. I can't imagine how he feels. Noctis, Lucis, all of it has Nomura's fingerprints all over and yet they gave the project to some other guy...

I am so excited for XV, more excited than ever with Versus looking alive and well, but this still drives me crazy.

Funny enough, Nomura is the one who discovered Tabata's talent during Crisis Core pre-development and he actually suggested him to be CC director.

Don't blame him either. It's a project he really couldn't get moving in a substantial way.

Oh come on... Nomura-san created super awesome trailers for Versus that did have gameplay. Didn't he even claim that the ambition for Versus got so big that it had to get pushed to PS4? He was doing work. Nomura-san has distanced himself because he's busy with other projects and Tabata has taken cover XV. Hopefully he's not bitter anymore. It would be awesome to see him shaking Tabata's hand at Uncovered: Final Fantasy XV.

It began before that. Nomura wanted Tabata to direct Before Crisis. I doubt there's any bad blood between Tabata & Nomura. Don't think Nomura was removed from the project because SQEX thought he was doing a horrible job (you don't give the reigns of an important project like FFVIIR to someone you recently moved off from a project for doing a bad job), most likely they just wanted him to move on to other projects like KHIII & then FFVII Remake. Seems like at first they did the whole co-director thing when Nomura was needed to get KHIII off the ground, then later Tabata became the sole director when Nomura was put in charge of FFVII Remake.

I mean he's dealing with the most important project at SE a lot is riding on that remake.

Of course, their relationship is still good imo and I doubt Tabata wanted to be FFXV director in the first place if not because SQEX directors want him to replace Nomura, base on his experiences with previous SE action games

I'm not sure that he couldn't get the project moving in a substantial way when it finally became XV/was rebooted for the current generation. The issue might have been his creative vision differing from SE's, an example being how they changed Lucis from being a country of reaper worship like it was in Versus XIII because it violated age rating criteria (though this could have changed while he was in charge for all we know). Nomura might have disagreed with changes to the story/world of XV like that and so Tabata took over. If he was completely incompetent at directing why would SE have put him on their most important project ever (FFVIIR)? That wouldn't make much sense.

If Nomura stays true to original FFVII then FFVIIR is rated M for sure on rating standard nowadays so I doubt it's because of rating things.

Politics most likely were involved and how he wanted this game to have sequels..although to this day I believe he was put to direct FF7r to save face. But we'll never know the real reason why I'm sure he's not a incompetent but the mess of the crystal tools and XIV played a role no doubt.

Still debating if I should practice self-control and not watch any more new footage or read any new info until release, or if I should go to this event because it's in LA.

FFVIIR might be rated M because it's a well known story and game so SE could be fine with that, but they seem to have not wanted XV to be rated M (because Tabata said they made that change for rating reasons) most likely for a broader potential audience because it's a new unknown property and world/story.

If you don't want any more spoiled it's probably best to not go to the event/watch the trailer at this event. Since there will most likely be a proper trailer showing the game in its near complete stage they will probably show/spoil more story stuff than they would in an ATR.

That's pretty much what I think also about the situation.

Never release a Triple A game during summer it's suicide.

Oh, trust me. I know.

'Tis why I cannot deny a tinge of jealousy at all the March through June / September through December games where people are like "oh wow, and that's my birthday, too!"

Yeah Kagari would be awesome, but you got folks like Ishida, Med, M_Night, a lot of cool people who can do it or at least contribute to help Lady K.

Yup and then there's some hardcore fans like us who would like to contribute at least something to the OT.
