Nintendo eShop (Wii U)

Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty (Oddworld Inhabitants) - €19.99/£14.99 (€15.99/£11.99 until February 25)

Finally!
Dememtium Remastered (Renegade Kid) - €14.99/£13.49
To be honest i didn't believe it would drop on the EU shop (as Renegade Kid didn't deliver the Moon remaster - long, long overdue).
Is the remake worth the price? I did play the original when it came out, but never finished it.
Citizens of Earth (Atlus) - €4.99/£4.00 (Ends February 25, normally €11.99/£9.99)
This game is cross-buy, or was it just an one time offer?
Is this game any good?

Zonic

Gives all the fucks
There's additional DLC for Project X Zone 2 aside from the pre-order bonus? Like, what is there really to offer? I'll nab the free one, but I don't really understand why....

*remembers how Namco sold items obtainable in game as DLC on consoles*

......oooohhh riiigghhhttt...

Heh I was confused by that until I remembered what they do with Tales games.
Still though, I wonder if 'SP Advanced Mode Addition' is the New Game+ that the first game had...?
Not so bothered about the theme but missing out on 'pre-order' DLC despite pre-ordering a physical copy is a little annoying.

You word everything poorly. Nintendo has nothing to do with sales.

Not even discounts of their own games?
Which brings this up:
Last year when did Ninty offer discounts on their titles that are on the 3DS eShop? Was it around Spring?

So you're shocked by a GBA game being priced like all other GBA games and a DS game priced like all other DS games? :)

I think it's a waste that they ported both of those games. Should've just gone with Blue and called it a day. The only difference is a more accessible menu, don't know to what extent though, as I only played Blue.

Finally I can be public about this event sale I've been working on since like Aug. I got a group of Nintendo indies together to make this special sale. Will be featured on the Wii U eShop.

And yeah, sorry. Can't discount games that don't exist in EU.

I wish NOE listed my group sale by name, oh well. Glad it's finally public. :) I'm not the only GAFFER apart of this sale too, psyscrolr is too (which I recommend, esp since it has a patch with new stuff)

I'd settle for at least Ninty's games being discounted, I missed out on getting the LoZ games for one thing on 3DS ToT

Well, this is an indie sale, not a Nintendo sale, that I helped set up. :p

Hey Ashodin, no excuse for a lack of Europe now buddy. :)
Hopefully he requested IARC account. Apparently there is a bit of a line to get approved now. I luckily got in early.

Oh no thanks, I've seen enough Indie sales on EU 3DS eShop to make me wonder if there are any other titles available on the eShop worth buying.

Virtual Console games are not ports. VC games are the original game ROMs thrown into an emulator. They didn't port anything here.

May need to give that page a once over. Quality isn't to the level I expect of myself today.

The difference 10 years makes

There are actually some different Pokémon in the games. You can get them via missions from the other game, but you can't natively so. Once the missions given by them are done, then they appear in the wild.

So if they were only to do one, it'd lock people out.

Apparently a demo of World Of Keflings is now available in US eshop.

We hope the free demo increases the sales on the @WiiU so we can bring the game to Europe.

I really want to know what "costs" they are referring to. Translations aren't required. All it takes is making a NOE build (just copy the NOA one) with the FREE ratings and build & submit. Me using IARC to put my game out in AU was easy.

I honestly just see this as devs trying to bullshit their way out of doing the work. Before they had the Ratings cost to hide behind with. But not anymore.

This crap is really frustrating. How hard is it to fill out a bunch of forms and upload your game again. Do that while the other guys are arguing if the box should be made of wood or metal and get some new customers.

I see this more as Nintendo being terrible at communicating its policies. They should have sent every developer an email as soon as they embraced the IARC rating and plastered the news all over their developer website. They should actively encourage all NA and EU devs to release their games in EU/Germany/Australia/New Zealand..

Same story with the dev of Her Story who thought that Nintendo had certification fees, or devs not knowing that you (only) need to translate the manual in French to release in Canada.

Devs should be more informed, that's not Nintendo's job, bla, bla, bla. Nintendo platforms have always had the stigma of being bad for 3rd parties and Nintendo should be actively fighting to change this image, aggressively courting developers and not just waiting around for scraps.

The free certification has been shouted from the rooftops for years, any dev that doesn't know that is probably in the wrong business

Cross-posting from the Wind Waker HD OT since it isn't exactly the most active of community threads:

Pimmsy and I have decided to make an actual go of this whole YouTube/Let's Play malarkey, and we're starting off with Part 1 of Wind Waker HD: https://youtu.be/dIIlpF05bIE

If there's anyone who wants to watch and give any feedback or criticisms, such as the play style, the commentary, is the video too short/too long etc., or feels like sharing it with anyone who might be interested, it'd be greatly appreciated.

I promise I won't spam this thread too much with it since we're planning to upload Wind Waker videos every two days, but if anyone feels like I'm cluttering up the thread I can keep it in the OT.

Oh, he is informed now. And still citing unknown "costs". Uh huh... https://twitter.com/NinjaBeeGames/status/696780991319273472

I do agree that Nintendo in general is bad at letting it know about their Nintendo policies.

If you have a twitter account could you ask them about those costs? You are a dev and released the game under the new IARC system so they won't be able make excuses and you could help clear up any doubts they have.

The only thing I can think of is the use of licensed tech or terrible contracts with artists/musicians that only cover one territory and would need to be renegotiated.

The free certification has been shouted from the rooftops for years, any dev that doesn't know that is probably in the wrong business
The shouting obviously wasn't loud enough. It's in Nintendo's best interest to go after devs, not the other way around.

They need a publicly accessible website that outlines their dev friendly policies so that clearing up any misconceptions is always only a click away.

Why don't they just release it anyway???? Do they like turning down free money

The Wii U port is one of the most half-assed pieces of software on the platform so this doesn't really surprise me. They put out an incredibly lazy port, put it out super late and they're shocked it didn't sell better. Hunh.

It's hard to recommend the game too highly anyway, it looks nice and it's very charming, but there's this inevitability to everything. No matter what you do, you're going to win eventually. It's sort of like the world building of ActRaiser or Dark Cloud like that. If you just want to turn your brain off and mess around, it's not a bad time-waster, though.

I've got 2 semi-random, but Nintendo downloads related questions:

1) Has Yacht Club Games talked about their next project after Shovel Knight?

2) Has there been any mention of when SteamWorld Heist is coming to Wii U?

Yacht Club games still has a bunch of content they want to finish for Shovel Knight. They are probably not going to talk about it until at least King Knight campaign comes out

1) Constantly but they haven't nailed anything down since Shovel Knight is still their big focus this year with lots and lots of content updates still coming. The thing they've always thrown around since before the game was even out is Shovel Knight 64. But nobody knows where they're gonna go next.

2) This year is all you'll get. They're working on the 3DS update right now and the ports. Wouldn't be shocked if they go with the PS platforms first before circling back around to Wii U. They're not gonna get more specific until they make an official announcement anyway. Everyone is bugging them about "their" platform being next right now.

Have any of you guys played Legend of Legacy? Thinking about picking it up.

Oddly, I was going to ask this too. After learning that the story is by the Chrono Trigger writer, and the music is by the Final Fantasy XIII composer, I have become interested. Seems to a bit too hardcore for some people, right?

My brother has been playing my copy(I'm busy with other games) and so far he's said there's only a little bit of story and it's very difficult. From the sounds of it the difficulty jumps up rather than gradually increases.

Guys there's a demo. Play the demo.

Was fun, but doesn't speak to the longer game. I never really trust RPG demos .

Exactly, just look at Bravely Default.

Demo was fun, I enjoyed it and it seemed to represent the game, but of course there's no way the demo could have appropriately captured the mess of the second half of the game.
