Naughty Dog isn't considered godlike for their gunplay though.
TLOU has a fantastic gunplay. And also looks like U4 gunplay is improved

That's not really a road this thread is meant for, so I'll try to expand a bit to stay OT. Naughty Dog did not reach the status of "godtier" through their gunplay, but rather since every other part of their games are polished to a mirror sheen and even the worse they can offer is still very servicable, giving them a very well known reputation for AAA-quality in an era devoid of that expectation.TLOU has a fantastic gunplay. Just watched Gamespot video. Holy shit this game has amazing sound design! :O
The way the bodies fly out and sizzle into nothingness
The way the screen slightly shakes with the power of a shotgun blast
The comical timing of the last enemy
Theres also things lost in translation because of course, your not playing it yourself. So more physical feedback for example.
...and that's a 20 dollar? budget title.
Also, these things are subjective as well, so theres not really much I can say to convince you if your minds made. But that right there is what I find to be god-tier gameplay, when I cant tell if im playing a game or watching a scene of a movie. But due to the gameplay, not the narrative or story.]
And in that GIF how the flashlight is pointing straight forward while he is reloading the shootgun. That to me is more imersion breaking then anything.
Well if it is flashy kills and particle effects that you like I can understand why you prefer Remedys games. However IMO ND does the bolded part a lot better than Remedy. I mean look at my previous post about the animation difference between the games. And in that GIF how the flashlight is pointing straight forward while he is reloading the shootgun. That to me is more imersion breaking then anything.

Other "godtier" developers choose to focus on particular aspects of their games to give them that status, for example PlatinumGames chooses to focus on extreme action with heavy set pieces and stylistic gameplay, or Rockstar specializing in the attention to small details when crafting a seemingly living open world. Remedy is all about that cinematic clash with gameplay, and creating experiences that mirror what one might find in a movie or show, but without sacrificing the gameplay side of things.
So when people possibly believe that QB is gonna offer a better gameplay experience when compared to other third person shooters, it's not entirely out of left field, so to speak.
Watched a bit more of the stuff, and I'm really not a fan of the lighting at all. Way too fake looking for my tastes. Reminded me a lot of rim lighting for some reason from back in the day. And for that reason, I think UC4 is pretty clearly ahead of this title visually for me (though I'm not sure why this comparison is even being made in the thread).
The facial animation was ace in one of those clips. And those powers, damn. Damn!
Time to go scrounge up some money.
And that's why you don't really try to argue these things. You see flashy particle effects, and I see (and felt) the culmination of split second decisions and intense shooting with a consistent flow and an excellent amount of feedback.
And reducing it to "flashy kills and particle effects" is a real great use of words, I guess.

Just to make it clear I have played all of Remedys games but for me after the first Max Payne with the slowmotion shooting (which I found getting pretty boring even as a kid at the time) they never really impressed me much. So I guess we just have different tastes. What I did not understand was what you meant with feel like you cant tell if it is a game or movie. Even if QB looks really good in the graphics departement I wish they instead had put more time into animation I mean just look at this..
OMG I want a whole game of that racing part! Now that Uncharted is over ND should totally make their own Driver/Motorstorm/Sega Rally game, they have all element there in this Uncharted 4 segment.Last year's E3 extended demo (watch out for spoilers: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pumJtpbvCc0)
Yeah, I don't think enough people are talking about the glitching audio design mixed with the music. It's a great cacophony.
Would be cool if this game had an online mode, or maybe I am alone on that one.So is it true people who pre order the game digitally will get it a week early? April 5th for physical release, but digital preorders will get it March 29th is what I read today.
There are a few animation oddities. Another evident case is shooting from cover.
I hope there is a photo mode. I was going to get this through Amazon since I have access to Prime but I need that steelbook so Gamestop it is.
There is no photo mode.
Like in all software development, you have a limited amount of resources and the list of features you want is always so much longer than what is possible, so it's always a question of making difficult choices.
Jacket physics. Jacket physics never change.Jacket physics were broken in the press demo, which was pretty annoying. We had that bug for a long time, fixed it, it was ok for six months, then it decided to come back. Fixed now of course.
Score works really well in the game. I really like it.Just watched Gamespot video. Holy shit this game has amazing sound design! :O
What I love about this gif is that you can pretty much make out what he's saying. Quantum Break has some of the best lip-syncing I've ever seen in a video game.
Bravo Remedy!

Which is amazing coming from Alan Wake's horrible lip syncing.

This game looks bad. Another case of 'style over substance' just like The Order was.
This is a third-person cover shooter with gimmicks that don't shake up the core ideas of its stale genre. Watching the videos almost every encounter feels the same and there doesn't seem to be much enemy variety or enemies that really force you to change the way you play other than those that are not effected by your 'time manipulation' gimmick.
At least with Alan Wake they were able to cover its mediocrity by putting it into the horror genre and just hide a lot of its shortcomings behind dark environments and shit.
This game will probably flop in terms of reviews or at least be way below what Remedy is expecting. Super disappointed.

I just don't see anything you just described in those previews, complete opposite. This game looks bad. Another case of 'style over substance' just like The Order was.
