Sorry about what's happened, can you at least verify what he's claiming?
In what universe does he not back up his partner here?

"No he's lying and we're scum"

"No he's lying. It's a gambit that I am stopping because I am just the worst."

Role claim nonsense aside, Coppa and Flame have both looked sketchy as hell already, and I had completely forgotten they were partners until Sophia mentioned it.

Actually I'll stop flipping my vote on Flux for now, this is a better bet anyway.

VOTE: Coppanuva

EDIT: Fuck, I hit edit instead of quote... The rest of this text shouldn't be here. Sorry Burb :(

I didn't have time to elaborate on this vote earlier, but:

Coppa looks sketchy in general. I don't remember any real standout posts but he did have a few non-posts when there was definitely things to comment on (eg. he responded to my fluff post about kitty's neutrality instead of whatever else was going on at the time). He's also had a couple of posts focused more on himself than anyone else, will go back and quote one after this post.

I feel slightly biased here because I'm much more familiar with scum-Coppa than town-Coppa, specifically he was scum in VI and that's very much what he's been reminding me of here. HOWEVER this sketchiness (and his neutrality fluff post specifically) were first brought to my attention by my glamorous assistant, so my own bias bothers me slightly less.

As for flame, his overreaction to the Miller is kinda weird. I mean it does make sense for scum to try and lynch the Miller - always an easy lynch - so maybe he's just overplayed that a bit?

I don't know why my phone insists on capitalising miller, but I've mostly given up on correcting it :(

Rest

All these years later I still chuckle at what a fucking moron that guy is.
Since you seem to be in thread Rest, could you provide your thoughts on what is going on. Specifically the Flux situation and then Blarg/Kawl?
I'm strongly against role claims, they don't help town, especially if they're just random like this one was. He claims his partner didn't want him to? Why expose themselves, especially if there wasn't consensus on the team? I can't imagine how this could benefit them. The only conclusion that I can come to is that this was done to breed confusion, which is anti Town. I called for a policy lynch on this lunatical role claim, and I really think it should be that: POLICY. I feel strongly that town should get rid of role claimers unless the person claims near the end of a day period under pressure.

As for Blag and kawl, I don't know what to make of it. They say they were going to claim right at the start, that it was planned? That doesn't make much sense to me. Though there is some history to it, I think Blag claimed early his last game, and if I'm not mistaken the one before that.

One thing I do know is that Blag is smarter than he lets himself seem; he's mastered the art of looking like a fool while actually functioning at a higher level. They say it was planned? I think I believe it, but not knowing what their plan is I don't find any benefit to Town in doing it. I'd wait until tomorrow to lynch Blarg and kawl, because Flux claimed first and, as I said, Blag is entertaining. Maybe in that time they can make their own claim make sense and save themselves.

I'm glad you value our romantics

Is it too late to change partners?

I'm all seriousness, this "plan" was briefly mentioned by Flux in our chat yesterday but I did not have get a chance to say whether or not I was cool with it. Like I said, I'm out of town today. I'm just as blindsided by this claim as the rest of you guys.

Don't tell Kawl though

We got blindsided, you supposedly said "no"

I hadn't subscribed to this thread until now, so I'll just say it now:

If you want to know, if I can do x to the voting tool and I don't respond, just PM me. In this particular case I don't think I easily could have implemented what you wanted, tough...

That's it, carry on. I'll go make myself pretty for the start of princess now :3

Great opening, #TeamBlawl!

That's how I vote.
I laughed, but we have a vote counter and stuff, and it's a rule somewhere at the start of the thread, but anyway if you only vote for one person (ideally the first of the pair) it will make things easier for Burb.

Ahahahaha
I totally forgot that you were busy at the start of D1, amazing :p

I'm not quite sure where Flux is going, but at the very least it gave us something to talk about. Shame Timeaisis will be so busy because I'd love more of his input.

I got Burb covered, but Rest, et al, need to vote correctly for it to work. Burb will have to adjust it manually otherwise.

These are the two main posts of Coppa's I was referring to.
KingKitty in Mafia

Blarg/Kawl just... what. What is it with this game and people claiming this soon? Ugh... I'm going to have to think through this.

I'm going to take this comment and use it to address 2 things here:

1) My vote is fluid. I'm not a player who typically votes on one person and leaves it there. I use my vote to get answers to questions I have and address issues. If someone doesn't answer me, I consider it anti-town. You can read my vote as an early pressure vote if you want. I do, however, want to ask Flux one more question, then it'll probably move on to its new home.

2)This speaks more to what you're trying to imply in the above rather than anything concrete: How is it that a pair splitting their vote early on is considered unusual? We're partners, but we DO have separate votes and we are in no way forced to vote for the same person. Dividing our votes out just gives us more investigative room and allows us to pressure people more easily. If a pair both comes to wildly different conclusions by the end of the day and each votes on wildly different targets, I'd be a bit more concerned. Early in a phase? Not in the least.

That said, I want to see how Flux and Time react to Blarg and Kawl. Flux: You've posted since yet avoided talking about them and their claim. What's your take on this situation?
The second isn't quite as bad as I was remembering, but still not great. Point 1) is what gives me the scum-Coppa flashbacks. Point 2) is just him misunderstanding Sophia's point, I think.

I tried to quote post 451 but hit edit by mistake. Flux asked why I edited and I was already correcting/reposting, so it looked like he quoted the future.

Maybe it means something more, something we can't yet understand

Some evidence or artifact of a dimension we can't consciously perceive

Maybe love is the one thing we're capable of perceiving that transcends dimensions of time and space

Maybe we should trust that even if we can't understand it

Flux mentioned claiming D1 in chat. My reply was, and I quote, "lol". Later he outlined his plan but I didn't have a chance to talk him down because I never saw it till today, after this all went down.

So yeah, I thought it was a joke at first, until he actually did it. I'm just as surprised as you

I kind of believe flum and blawl. Flux, I don't think would pull this gambit as scum considering what happened in woof 2. blawl, yeah sure whatever.

Dropping RP for a moment here...

The main thing wasn't so much that they voted on two different people (that itself wouldn't be too unusual, especially if their intent was to pressure) so much as they reacted rather quickly to both role claims. When you take into account the nature of the game, that made me feel it was a bit unusual. But I did not feel confident about that feeling, so I did note vote and presented it as an opinion instead. Having seen the replies I still don't feel confident either way. I don't really know either of their personalities too well as it's my first game with them.

Hey, I'm not gonna speak for my partner. I'll let him answer that.

So all you were holding back was a "lol", then...?

Wait, what do you mean I won't disclose why Timeaisis didn't agree with it? No one asked. Of course he wouldn't agree with it, why would anyone sane want to claim a role minutes into a game? Especially since we have a PR, he wanted to lie low, and not be thrust into the spotlight.

And yet here you are..

Of course this was planned in advance; we have our own private chat, don't we? I talked about the plan in there; how else would I know Time didn't agree with it? It didn't happen after the fact.

Is your partner's input of "lol" enough to say it was planned in advance?

???

Where's the contradiction? What are you even trying to point out anymore?

1. Time was against it.

"lol" is being against it? How do you draw any specific meaning from that?

Here, let me check the number of replies that's in our private chat between me and Time: 12. We didn't even start posting in that thread until February 12.

12 replies amounts to just "lol" from Timeaisis?

I can't tell if you're intentionally trying to misunderstand or what, Karkador. Reread what I'm saying; you're seeing things that aren't there.

"Planned in advance" doesn't mean "planned with my partner." This was a solo deal.

"Of course he wouldn't agree with it." As he said himself IN THIS THREAD, he thought I was joking when I brought it up in our private room. He also said something else that jokingly dismissed the idea in there. From that, I assumed that he was against it.

Like I've said multiple times, I wasn't holding anything back. Like I've said multiple times, I simply didn't know the extent to how much Timeaisis was against "the plan." I still don't. And I still don't get what you're trying to get at.

I'm trying to understand your disaster of a Day 1 so far, because none of it makes any sense at all.

You've either completely blown this game for you and your partner on a laughably premature and unnecessary gambit (trust me, I'd know) - or you're lying.

It's funny, I would think my vote when I was scum was pretty stagnant. I shifted it a few times, but I mostly held it on people I knew were going to be inactive for large chunks of time (the shorter day phases helped). My vote was much more fluid in NightVale when I was town-aligned.

Point 2... yeah I think I misunderstood it. I put more emphasis in my head on her mention of it being 2 different people we voted on as weird, and I wanted to talk some about voting records.

That said, Flux has answered my questions for now, so I'm tossing my vote out elsewhere. I want people to talk each day, and I'm not interested in locking ourselves in so quickly.

Vote: CzarTime

What's your reasoning for believing them both? You didn't provide too much here as why you believe them, and your opinion isn't very committal. Any insight you care to share here? I'm kinda shocked you're playing neutral on Blarg right now, you gunned for him pretty hard out of the gate last game.

Nope, the point of whatever it is you're doing isn't obvious.

If you're actually a Name Cop? Scum isn't exactly going to jump through hoops to get you. They'd probably bandwagon on a lynch, but we're talking about a list of 16 voters to sift through.

Likewise, they're probably not going anywhere near you for a night kill, just in case you have a reactive ability, or are being watched or something. The longer you live, the more town is probably going to lynch you, anyhow.

If you're something like a hunter or a vig, I'm gonna guess that on Day 1, you're much more likely to work against Town than help it...so we don't want your reactive kill anyhow.

The request to not be protected at Night makes me think you want to get killed, which makes me think you're a Wolf Cub.

Like I said, I don't think flux would gambit as scum after what happened in woof 2. This was truly unnecessary and only served to put a target on his back for town and scum alike.

I'd be less surprised if blawl was scum, but idk the way they wanted to have flume confirm them makes me believe the claim.

All this shit is just the kind of distraction that always happens on day one. I don't think we need 10 pages of people rehashing the same points over and over.

Right now king is my top scum for gut feelz. Also looking at a few others but not enough posts to make a decision either way.

Yeah a little bit of what Tim said. Why's mafia flux doing this?

I think if you're voting timeflux then you don't believe that anyone has done anything legitimately suspicious so far. Like yes flux's stuff isn't acceptable and doesn't make sense as town but same if he's mafia.

it is super dum dum for mafia to do this on day 1. too much attention. could easily become a pile-on. i always have this fantasy that scum would one day do something incredibly bold, beautiful, and unnecessary. so unnecessary that it trips up the town, and saves their own bum. but occam's razor says no this time.

and then flux doesn't want to be potentially saved by a doctor....so as scum, he doesn't want to bait, he doesn't want cover for why he might continue to live on throughout the game despite being a big power role. that's not to say it makes a whole lot of sense for a townie flux to do this...but it makes less sense from a scum standpoint (i think). at least how he's been playing this.

i think if scum sees a townie flux claiming this big role, they might hide behind "policy-lynch", "don't trust em", "anti-town", reasoning. and look, that's not bad reasoning, but it could be used as a shield by scum to look helpful.

has everyone posted yet?

I put in a vote for Flux because regardless of alignment he's going to end up being a pain in town's rear.

Also, is there a list of potential roles for this game I missed, or is this one of those "anyone could be anything" type deals?

If it's this then I would expect time and flux to fight in the thread about it, maybe some kind of "lovers quarrel" thing. Flux seems like he's operating completely independently from time.

The exact same sentiment that destroyed Wolf 2's Town team before the Wolf team stupidly self-destructed. If you're going to lynch someone, have the confidence that they're scum. There is zero benefit to lynching town.

Flux is weird. I too shall echo the desire hear more from Timeaisis, anything about this claim would be cool. The do not protect us part is confusing me rather much unless…

…but even if it would be that, the way you are playing is strange. Occam’s Razor says it is just a misplay and I should believe in love but I remain in the middle for now.

Blargokawl’s role contradicts the Role Cop because alignment != role. One thing that I did not pick up through reading some of the past Gafia treads was knowledge about game balance and so I have to ask a noob question here to understand more: is is plausible for town to have all three of the implied roles, a Role Cop, a Alignment Cop and a Tracker? It seems rather much to me but I am not sure if I am judging it correctly. Could someone enlighten me please?

I couldn't say it's impossible, but role cop + alignment cop seems unlikely unless the alignment cop is scum.
