Activision’s ‘Call of Duty: Black Ops III’ (-17%) celebrates a 10th No1 crown.

Only ‘Lego Marvel Avengers’ (-35%), which remains at No2 has managed to break its run at the top in 2016. The start of the half term break combined with retail promotions sees a resurgence for many of the Top 10 this week with ‘Fifa 16’ (+26%) climbing back up to No3. ‘Grand Theft Auto V’ (+33%) and ‘Stars Wars Battlefront’ (+50%) follow suit moving up to claim No4 and No5. ‘Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six: Siege’ (+16%) also sees a strong boost but still slips a spot down to No6. ‘Just Cause 3’ (-5%) climbs a spot and stays ahead of a resurgent ‘Fallout 4’ (+67%), which leaps 7 places to No8. ‘Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate’ (-2%) and ‘Minecraft: Story Mode’ (-19%) are both non–movers at No9 and No10.

Although they’re unable to threaten the Top 10 a few new releases arrive in the Top 40. The first in the form of ‘Assassin’s Creed Chronicles’ at No19. The physical release sees episodic releases covering China, India and Russia united on one disc. The zombies return once more as Warner Bros. Interactive release ‘Dying Light: The Following’ debuting at No28. The release sees the addition of all season pass content combined with the original release from February last year.

Huge drop for Digimon. The dedicated JRPG fans did their part and nobody else it seems.

I want to buy a copy, but lord this backlog of mine.

Well the japanese games pretty frontloaded but that's expected.

Still funny to see Rainbow Six Xbone SKU being above PS4 when pretty much every other multiplatform games in consistently higher on the PS4. Last time a similar thing happened was TES Online.

I'll admit to being a little surprised by Siege's hold since release.

Really seems like some solid word of mouth and online vids are keeping the game going. Nearly every Ubi game does really well, even the ones that seem a little shaky for the market like The Crew

France charts are top 5, that reduces the chances of many games to appear, it's not, per se, a sign of bad sales (see last year's France totals for example).
Also...Germany? The same country where 3DS is usually the second (sometimes the third) platform for number of games in top 100 and where Wii U and Xbox One are usually around the same amount of games in charts (for whatever it counts)?

There was always that token Nintendo game to chart in France every few weeks, but that stopped a few months ago for some reason.

Well ANGI and Gfk entertainment aren't gone from here yet.
Only update so far from dataspelsbranschen is the Swedish digital market and growth since 2013 to 2015. I see we're getting MAU/MUU here as well. ^^
Anyway, the others will probably follow suit and if the yearly reports follow trend we'll be getting the whole Nordic retail update in late Marsch.

On the other hand, Etrian Odyssey Untold 2 enters #9 on the Nintendo 3DS ranking, forgotten between Mario Party : Island Tour and Tomodachi Life.

By the way... shouldn't Project X Zone 2 be somewhere in that top 40 ? At least the 3DS top 40 I mean. It was out friday 12th isn't it ?

Nothing crazy about it, strong market and upfront sales with no legs, so basically just fans buying day and date. I don't even know if 7th is much of a "top" on release.

This seems like a bug or missing data as I find it improbable for it to be completely out of the 3DS-only chart.

Shame there's no EO2 in the big boys chart. I'm really enjoying it so far and I wish the fan base for RPGs that don't follow the FF DNA was bigger in the UK. I guess the benefit is the game's end up quite cheap.

For some reason I thought it was in the top 3 first week, but that was Naruto >_<.

Still, you know we are talking about a game so niche it's not even out in retail on most european markets ? I don't know what kind of popularity Digimon has in UK, but in France the IP never had a chance. I wish Gravity Rush Remastered charted as high as Digimon : /

Uhm... yeah. Amazon have release date as the 12th. What'n the hell? Not even making the top 50 3DS chart is literally unbelievable, like I genuinely don't believe that. Even if it sold less than expected it would've still charted.

Anyway, seems like it was a week of niche games doing niche sales. EDF 2 for Vita charted at #3 in the Vita-only chart; EDF 4 & Neptunia V-II didn't chart in the PS4 top-20 (it's really time they expanded the PS4 chart - 50 for 3DS but only 20 for PS4 despite the fact that the former has 0 games in the top 40 combined and the latter has 17? Nonsense).
