The Bioshock Collection rated in Brazil (PS4/PS3/Xbox One/360/PC)

Looking at other remasters of this gen like Saints Row 4, Darksiders or Dishonored do you really think it will be 60fps?

Awesome. Very predictable (even by me on multiple occasions), but it's also probably a game to tie people over before the next game by 2K Marin.

They're re-releasing it on PS3 and 360? What's the point...

This is kinda worrying. It tells me that not much work went into this rerelease. The 360/PS3 versions are most likely identical and the PS4/XBO just up-rezed ports.

Liked Infinite, then tried to play #1 and just couldn't get into it. I am at the point where I simply cannot play linear shooters from beginning to end without getting bored out of my mind.

But I think this is a good collection to have, will definitely get it on an inevitable PSN sale.

To make money? They already have all three games on those platforms, they just need to package them up and get them on retail shelves. They will be cheap to produce and plenty of people will buy them.

Sales of last-gen software have fallen of a cliff, though (at least the US). I mean, it's definitely minimal effort, but we're not talking about a huge amount of sales here.

Hopefully this removes multiplayer trophies on 2, making the platinum attainable. Or the reverse is true and the mp community is reinvigorated (no pun intended) and the platinum is attainable.

Good for people who haven't played them. I'm not in a rush to play them again any time soon but it's good to have them availabe on current gen.

I'm in the same boat. Maybe Infinite just left a bad taste in my mouth over time? It can't help that I already knew the big plot twist for the first game years in advance, so I just didn't feel motivated to get very far. I'd like to take another stab at it, and a good remaster would give me an excuse.

They are phenomenal games imo. I know people didn't like Bioshock Infinite that much, but it blew me away.
Can't wait for the next game from Ken Levine.

It's a pity we don't see that much atmospheric AAA SP games anymore.

And I bought the collection for 9 euro or something on a steam sale, so I don't know what PC is doing on there.

Hype Train conductor. Works harder than it steams.
Will this be just PC ports for currentgen or an actual Remastered Collection?

Bioshock Infinite looks great on PC, so it will be a 1080/60fps thing on consoles and that's fine. Hope it sells well so we'll get another one.

Only some textures are not that great, I remember some very weird euhm one layer textures for fruit and things like that.

Remastered Bioshock 1 with the ability to wield Plasmids and guns at the same time ala Bioshock 2, improved enemy A.I., balancing some of the weaker Plasmids, with a few new surprises. Oh yeah, I'd buy it. I doubt that will happen but I would buy it.

they will definitely kill EAX 5 support for Bioshock 1 PC, so it will be a huge downgrade

Will be getting this for my PS4 Collection if 60fps

Only remasters i wanted were mass effect and bioshock. We are halfway there.

I hope ea anounces a mass effect collection in preperation for andromeda soon.

Rumour has it that EA cancelled any remakes they were doing when BC got announced for the XB1 so don't get your hopes up.

Ea is the last company to turn down free money tho.

Peter Moore disagrees.

Remasters still cost money to develop as well. Yes they will cost a fraction of the amount that it would cost to make a brand new AAA game but they only really make sense if you need to get a development team up to speed with new hardware and you want to do so without having them have to stress about the creative side of the process. Outsourcing remasters don't always yield the best results either.

If there're significant upgrades I'd imagine them calling it something different than just a collection, but I'll still hope for better textures, etc.

Remasters aren't free money. They take time and investment to do well. When you treat a remaster as free money, simply cashing in on people's nostalgia for older games, you get shit like the Silent Hill HD Collection.

And besides, top EA execs have been on the record saying remasters aren't on EA's agenda right now.

I'm pretty sure 2K Marin was shut down after The Bureau: XCOM Declassified.

http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articles/2013-10-18-2k-marin-shut-down-entirely-reports

The link says some of the staff was moved to 2K Novato, but that was before Fergusson left to join The Coalition.

Just layoffs I believe. About 8 months after that, Take Two said that 2K Marin is now in charge of the franchise.

All these teams are just an evenflow of internal development at 2k offices in Novato. 2k Novato was mostly used in terms of the location of the 2k offices, not an actual team. 2k Marin worked on Bioshock 2 and X-Com. When it dissolved some of the team reformed under new management (mostly ex-LucasArts 1313 heads) under the Hanger 13 moniker. I'm sure when Mafia 3 is done some of the team will split off to work on a new Bioshock.

im not saying they dont cost any money. they have minimal cost to profit ratio, they usually sell well and are low risk. out of all the remasters theyve been releasing this past 2 gens, silent hill is the only thing that comes to mind as being really fcked up. and that was konami, so it cant be that hard to get them right.

also we are talking about mass effect here. those games are just as fun to play the 2nd or 3rd time, and as far as i can tell they are the most anticipated remaster/collection out there.

and on ea execs saying they arent planning it, it seems like they are just trying to avoid completely butchering mass effect game and dlc sales on last gen and origin to me. and we all know most execs arent above telling you the complete opposite of what they are planning to do and later going "oh sorry, the markets changed since then, we needed to adapt... etc"
