This is what it looks like most of the time from the sitting position I play from. Have a 6500k backlight behind the tv for enhanced contrast and reduced eye fatigue.

Fluance 5.0 speakers, Klipsch SW-450 sub, Sony 5.2 AVR, Vizio 55" calibrated tv, laptop hooked up to everything with a wireless k+m, PS4. Acoustic foam at first reflection points and backwall and have a few bass traps as well. Eclipse curtains for dark viewing as this doubles as my home theater room as well. Still need to do some painting as I scratched up that back wall pretty good moving stuff around so much, as well as some additional wire cleanup. Hope you enjoy my simple setup.

Finally sucked it up and ordered a Herman Miller Embody. Really hope it's worth it.

I had the Aeron for a days several months ago but it just didn't work out. I had the correct size for my weight and height, and adjusted the chair in a myriad of different ways but the biggest problem was the mesh seating. It was terribly uncomfortable. I could feel my pelvic bones pressing against the seat after only a few minutes of using the chair. I would even go so far as to say that it was probably the most uncomfortable chair I've ever used for this reason.

Fortunately, Herman Miller was awesome about the return process, and they gave me their holiday pricing (15% off). This even after throwing in free next day shipping. Anyway, if everything works out this time I'll try and upload some pictures of my workspace.

Got a lot of my games packed away, I usually have two of those glass door towers full of games, but this is a temporary place. This is about as nice as I'm gonna make it, lol. I hope you like it!

I like your style, particularly the cabinet. Details?

I would post my desk again, however I was expecting something from Amazon today and got hosed yet again.

And whom did Rich piss off to get demoted and banned?

I really want to look into getting some kind of ambient lighting as well. I still have my Christmas tree up because, well, there's snow on the ground, it's winter, and, for those reasons, it still feels appropriate, but also because I like having the extra lighting when I'm playing my PS4. There's a lot of different options to explore though (e.g., electric candles, ambient screen back-lighting, LED strips, etc.).

Thanks man! I wish I had some info of the cabinet, but my old neighbor put a matching set of em out on the curb because she thought they were too unstable with their toddler now running around. And they are, if you don't anchor em to the wall lol. But yeah they fit the room perfectly IMO.

Here's my most recent shot.

For some reason, can't get this to come out right with self timer on my camera.

How it normally looks using standard shooting mode.

Here's one I took using the self timer to answer those people who ask how I reach to put in disks.

The flash isn't syncing with the shutter and it's pissing me off and ruining the photos, if I had a second person this would be easy as pie, but no.
Your screen seems a bit too small for the large space it is in.

All mine is, is an office lamp with a clip! I clipped it to the back of the entertainment stand in the middle and pointed it at the wall so it spreads light evenly. Shove a 6500k light bulb in there if you care about bringing out the best in your calibrated tv, or whatever type of light you want and you are done. Obviously not the classiest way of doing it, but the whole thing cost me about 12 bucks.

Hell yeah. Nice setup! Looks cozy.

Thanks! It is very cozy.

This is my retro gaming room, otherwise known as my "man cavelette". It's the small part of our basement that my wife allowed to me. I put the shelves there so my cats could get up to the window cubby.

We moved house at Christmas, and have finally finished setting things up.

We've had to move to a cheaper house in a pretty bad area as my partner is waiting for a transplant and will have to stop work this year. We've worked hard to save up for what we have (we only work as an apprentice mechanic and retail assistant), and didn't want to have to sell it to make ends meet.

Main setup:

LG 70" (70UF770T)
Yamaha (YHT-1810) 5.1 Home Theatre
Xbox one with elite controller and 3TB external hard drive
Turtle Beach Stealth 500x, x42, and Polk 4-shot headsets
Xbox 360 (Star Wars)
Alienware Alpha i7
Alienware 17
Apple TV
Cable boxes (Foxtel and Fetch)
HP Notebook 15inch #P4Y45PA
Apple iPad mini 4 128gb
PS Vita
WiiU
PS2
PS3

This is our collection of games for anyone who is interested:
https://www.sortitapps.com/items.php?username=kahlanei&type=videogames

And my collection of movies:
https://www.sortitapps.com/items.php?username=kahlanei&type=movies

Second setup:

LG 43" (43LF5900)
Xbox one
Xbox 360 (MW3)
Turtle Beach Stealth 500x (one for both xbox one consoles) and x12 headsets

Third setup:

(not quite set up yet so no pictures of this)

Super Nintendo
N64
PS1
PS2
Xbox Classic
Xbox 360

Collectables (last years photos, haven't quite finished setting up yet):

I've finally found the time and money to decorate my man cave and have shelving and furniture installed! The photos aren't amazing because I only have a potato as a camera. I have a small two bedroom flat and live alone so by default the spare room is my games room. It's more of a library really because I play my games in the living room without having to turn my living room into some kind of 'gamer zone'.

Hope you enjoy them.

I can barely get in the room!

Fuck the gaming devices, some of these apartments/houses, especially on the first page, have my teeth clenching in jealousy. I envy you lot, you must have done something right.

Edit: I stopped enshrining my collection of shit a few years ago. It just feels like you're building an alter to the god of materialism.

Thanks! It took me a while to get things just right, even though it might look like things have been placed randomly on the shelving.

I like your amiibo display shelves! And your photos have reminded me I need to get some nice artwork for the bare walls.

Or just stop buying things in general.. lol, that's how I've done it. I have as little as 6 or 7 physical PS4 games to show for now, sold off about everything else.

Both set ups on this page look great.

Moved into a four bedroom house last month. I have one of the rooms upstairs designated as the man room.

I built the shelves in the closets.

Sweetness. I constantly wish we had one more room in this house (at least) so that I could have a true home office. I am happy our master is huge, so my office is in there, but it would be nice to actually get up and move to a different room each morning.

I really like your wall color. Also, great idea for those ammiibo shelves, is that a baseball bat case or something?

We plan to have kids so I am not sure how long I will have this room for ;) We do have an unfinished basement that we plan to finish so it may eventually move someday. We'll see!

Thanks on the wall color. We did a lot of painting before we moved in, but I liked this color.

I got the idea from AmiiboGAF. They are baseball bat display cases from Michaels.

http://www.michaels.com/studio-decor-baseball-bat-display-case/10174362.html#q=baseball+bat&start=1

They are 1/2 off right now. And if you sign up with the Michaels app, you get an additional 20% off.

Hi Pjsprojects,

Any chance you could possibly post the stairs? always wanted to do a similar task, some more photos of the process/outcome could be beneficial.

Thanks :)

Space is at a premium in my house and seeing as my oldest daughter has just gained my nice large office/gaming room as a bedroom I started thinking about converting the loft space.

The loft was a typical 1935 dirty not boarded area that needed plenty of work. Not even stairs lead up to it,just a hatch.

Well one month later I built a staircase, put in some electrics and boarded everything out.Not perfect but I'm out of the way from family life lol.

My only grumble is the gap at the top of the stairs is only around three foot high so it's a case of crawl under a wooden beam to access the room.Worth noting is that by doing all the work myself the conversion cost me £100. I still have cables to sort and clutter to tidy but that will come when time allows.

Potato pic of peace, the camera flash makes my fan LEDs look blue but they are actually white and has added some glare on the right side that looks like a smear.

Folks, I need input on a desk.

I have the simple Linnmon + Adils setup (mine has the dark table top) from IKEA. It serves its purpose, but the finish of the table top is too rough and the legs are too tall for my liking. I can get the Olov for a significantly lower table, which would probably work. I then need to get a table top with a nicer finish; IKEA seems to have options there too.

Before I go too far in that direction, does anyone have input on another option? I just want a simple desk, low height with a nice finish for the top. Ideally not only dark color options.

I can't *believe* these lazy developers keep making file sizes so damn large. Btw, how does technology work?
Complete work in progress right now. Fiance' and I decided to move everything and stay in her house longer until we eventually have kids. So we're doing a *lot* of re-decorating, cleaning, and organizing. New sofa, couch, coffee table. New paint. Hired junk removers. Deep cleaning, etc, etc.

I just bought these shelves and I'm really happy with how they turned out:

25202246986_7ed8732d05_b.jpg

... Only about a third of my games, though are there; so I think a lot of older titles are going to have to stay in storage - or at least hidden in a closet.

I'm waiting for a bonus to come through before buying a new 4K TV for the office - leaning toward the 40" UN40JU7500 but am open to other suggestions.
Just ordered a desk for my PC, but shipping is 3+ weeks.

Family room so far:

Hoping to have a more finalized look to share in the next month or so.

I'm going to quote the pictures below to help your browsing of the topic. Anyways this is an attempt to tour you all of the floor I hold all my gaming stuff, I tried to order the pictures somewhat logically. To start is the stair well which leads to the floor down, and on that floor is one bedroom with all the older games, a den area with the newer games, and the connecting hallway and bathroom which is inbetween them all. I posted my setup prior, but have since then put in posters, LED lighting and also redid the closet to be a storage area and redid basically tons of stuff. This is basically the final setup, aside still collecting stuff and maybe a couple minor projects that won't impact the aesthetic too much. I also installed security cameras in all the areas so if you're wondering what those odd devices are, that's it :p I hope you all enjoy, this was about 3 or 4 months of work I would say just in terms of the actual setup and furnishing.

Edit: Also the green LED area with the tube tv is a dedicated light gun station that houses basically all the relevant consoles that hosted those sorts of games and require a tube tv, definitely one of my favorite spots :p

Some great setups and rooms being posted - very jealous! Also, all good rooms have an Ikea Detolf display cabinet in them :)

Originally we were going to try and fit it all into one bedroom and then use the rest for a den and pool table, etc. Once we ran the measurements though, we realized that concept would be too inhibited by the space in the area so we turned it into a gaming paradise. I had to compromise a bit and give the lady friend a place for her toys to life games, but it worked out well I think. I'm hoping to be done collecting in the next few years.

When we bought this house it was important to me to keep the house classyish, so I wanted to keep the game stuff isolated from the rest of the house.
