I just want parent controls to work properly.

i want my account to default to 18 when I log in, and my son's to default to 12 if he logs in.

How hard can that be?

Remembering to go in and out of settings to reset the age limit each time I used the PS4 is just rubbish.

It's the same problem I have with Apple in recent years when it comes to Mac OS X: paying more attention to big "showy" features than actually fixing the basic, bottom-level stuff.

Yes, folders are way more important to me than any remote play stuff, because the very basics of how we interact with and operate OSes is key to if they're successful or not. If you can't get the basics right, then the entire experience is a mess. It's 2016, so concepts like content organization are long past the point of being new—they're basic functions any competent OS does right out of the box.

They already got the basics right when listing the 15 most recently used applications readily available and quick to access. By all means have folders so people with lots of games and mild OCD can get it exactly how they want it, but that's by no means a basic necessity.

I've said this before, but I think the remote play app should also have the ability to play PS Now. You'd be able to play PS3 on your PC!

The current PS4 UI allows inserted disc games to fall off of that list of 15 items.

That's just one example of how the basics aren't anywhere close to being "right". I don't get why people are so adamant against a more logical user interface. None of us are saying we don't want fluff like share play or game streaming or whatever as well, but good lord, give a crap about the basics. There's bottom-level problems that currently exist that no competent UI designer should ever have allowed to exist. (And to be clear, this isn't a Sony problem—it's an industry problem.)

When you insert a disc it automatically pops back up to the first entry.

Great. I know that. I'm talking about disc-based games when they've been sitting in the system for a while. The currently-inserted game should never be allowed to fall off the main UI, and cause confusion over what is in the system or if anything is currently in there.

I get ~65Mbps on wired connection, so clearly the hardware isn't the issue.

Appearing offline is HUGE for me. My wife watches Netflix on my PS account and I always feel bad when I see messages after the fact. Ask anyone in the R6 Seige community, half the time they think I'm online lol.

I'm most pleased with the personal event organiser calendar thingy.

When asked why they never appeared online the night prior, my work friends sometimes say "I forgot." But now it's possible to schedule a multiplayer session, invite friends, and be reminded as the event draws near.

People getting excited of the thought of remote playing PS4 on PC......I don't get it, I'm sure there is a good reason...But nah.
Not as bad as waiting a for a HD release of a game then remote playing it to the Vita....That just fuck up.
