Hyrule Warriors Legends DLC detailed - Link's Awakening, PH, Spirit Tracks, ALBW

I've fully completed the game along with all the DLC. All character up to level 255, every piece of heart, every weapon, every skulltula, every A rank, and every medal.

The DLC page says :

The Legends Character Pack, which costs £10.79 / €11.99 and will launch in summer 2016, includes Linkle, Skull Kid, Tetra, Toon Link, King Daphnes and Ganondorf’s trident weapon. This pack is not available as part of the Legends of Hyrule Pack Season Pass. Tetra, King Daphnes, Skull Kid and Ganondorf's new trident weapon will not be available to purchase outside of this pack.

This part seems to say indirectly that Linkle and Toon Link can be unlocked by other means. Maybe the will be sold separately or can be acquired through their weapons in the £8.99 / €9,99 Season Pass on Wii U. Weird.

It more likely suggests those two characters will be available for purchase separately. Or they might be unlockable through amiibos.

It says if you haven't purchase them through the Legends pack or downloaded them with the Legend pack in code, if you buy the DLC packs that give them an extra weapon, they will only be playable with that weapon, not their default weapon.

For example, if you purchase the LInk's Awakening Pack, but you didn't get Linkle through the Legends Pack DLC or the pack-in code, then she can only use her weapon from the Link's Awakening pack, not her crossbows which is the weapon she starts out with.

As of now, the only way to get extra characters for Wii U, is to purchase the 3DS game and use the code. The Season Pass page mentioned something about getting a 3DS character locked to a certain weapon is you purchase that DLC Pack. I'm not sure abot that, though.

And yes, you can also purchase DLC Packs for Wii U, and you'll get the same characters and weapons as 3DS game does. Only Adventure Maps seem to be exclusive to Legends.

Thanks.

I think it's bullshit that ANY content is exclusive to Legends, as that's a spit in the face to people who supported the Wii U version, as the only way they can play that content is to buy the game a second time, on a technically inferior system. Still, while I disagree with it on principle, I can't say I'm too bothered personally, as it's not like I'm ever going to clear all the Adventure Maps on the Wii U version anyway.

Either way, I'm psyched to get new content, especially a whole second Season Pass! The first one was fantastic, and one of the best examples of post-release content/support for a game.

If they think keeping the adventure maps exclusive to 3DS to sell copies, when we know full well that the game runs like utter trash on the OG 3DS and only slightly better on New 3DS, then theyve failed.

Especially with no cross save feature. ESPECIALLY with worse graphics. It sucks because the 3DS version adds some great changes like being able to switch between characters on the field using the touch screen which is sorely needed on Wii U.

Once again a handheld Nintendo port hogging all the good shit when its an inferior version.

Predictions for characters: Marin, Linebeck, Ravio and Yuga

EDIT: Or Tarin, he'd have the ability to turn into a raccoon, and with an allergic reaction to the mushroom basically pinball his way around opponents.

This means an 8 bit Spirit Tracks Overworld theme

Oh my

Also Link driving a train around will be hilarious if they go with that angle.

The Link Between Worlds map needs to come with a pink haired classic Link costume recolor.

This makes sense.

Around 450 I think.

Ever just look at how much time you've spent on a game(s) and feel deeply ashamed? Yeah, that's me right now.

Oh, don't feel ashamed! I'm "only" 250 hours in, but the game is totally worth it! Best time I've had with a game in years!

If Linebeck really is going to be in, I'll finally cave and buy Hyrule Warriors. I'm not a huge Zelda fan, but the Hero of the Winds trilogy is too good and Linebeck is my favorite Zelda character. Hopefully I can see him throttle Link again.

So no maps for WiiU? Not interested then. I don't understand the logic behind this because the 3DS version doesn't appeal to me, but I guess they have done their marketing research.

The new maps probably incorporate the character switching mechanic pretty extensively.

This is cool but NO GROOSE WHAT

Wii U owner. Won't be bothering. I want new content but I don't want to play it on a fucking 3DS (I only have o3DS too so game runs terribly) not to mention have to start over as apparently MH3U save transfers never happened (bu bu but they use a different leveling strucutre...do they use the same grind-tastic loot feature though).

It is a shame the gameplay improvements (swapping between each character on the map sounds like fun) and features (these assist fairies) won't be added to the Wii U version.

It is a shame my first musou game is where I learn my beginners error of "wait for the sequel/better version" and honestly sours me on musou as a whole.

The thing about adventure maps is the rewards are going to be different in legends to have heart pieces for formerly DLC characters etc...

Love that you can get everything on WiiU, pretty detailed plans too!
Spent a lot of time on this game, will be happy getting that DLC. Hopefully we'll get a HW2 someday.
Only the characters and weapons is far form everything. Plus it is only the characters and weapons for more than the previous three adventure map, characters and weapons season pass cost.

Wind Fish would be awesome but I think he'd look kind of pathetic if they scaled him down too much so I'm not sure if they'd be able to pull it off.
The Great Fairy weapon was a thing and pretty large so who knows.

Is it possible to have all the additional content on the Wii U version? Or regardless of whether you buy both and redeem the code and buy all the DLC, is anything locked to just the 3DS?

Love seeing so much added to this game. I guess at this point there might not be much left for a sequel...groose was robbed!

I want the LA rep to be the frog prince from that other game boy game just for the odd factor.

Still no Yeto, this is a gosh darn tragedy!

Link's Awakneing is neato but nuts to that Marin chick, we should be bracing ourselves for the true hero of Koholint Island to be playable...
latest

...Not that I'll actually be getting the game, no new 3DS here and really I expect another port somewhere down the line as per Warriors series tradition.
Shame that the Wii U DLC situation is half baked.

You Kidding? There's still a ton left. All of the OoT sages that aren't in the game, Makar, Salvatore, Darunia, Mikau, Deku Link, Groose, Yeto/Yeta, and King Bublin would be good characters, and there are a ton of areas from those games would make good levels that aren't in the base game. This is all just from the 3D console games too, there's still a ton they could add from the 2Dand handheld games.

What if you play as the Wind Fish?

We already have the great Fairy as a giant character. It's not out of the realm of possibility...

What options do we have? Marin? The Owl? The shopkeeper? Link's Awakening is a fine game, but doesn't have many noteworthy characters I think.

I shall join #TeamWindFish. I can already seem it falling to the ground for a massive smashing attack. Yes...

I'm planning to buy the DLC together with a friend. I own the Wii U version and he's gonna buy the 3DS one. I assume you buy one and get the code for the other, ala Smash, right?

And probably stuff for the new My Fairy system as well (food, clothing etc.) and i believe they want to keep the Fairy system on Legends to give a new incentive for that version and differentiate it. So now wonder, the maps won't come to U, although it's sad.

Still, Legends being a thing after all, it's an opportunity for the Wii U version as well to get new content and even a 2nd season pass. Who knows if this would happened without developing the 3DS version. So i'm good either way.

Wind Fish and his expy the Ocean King as a clone character for that deceitful con of a season pass experience.

Really though, anything other than Linebeck for PH/ST would be ridonkulous.
...unless it was the Demon Train, holy shit that would be amazing.

ok, so, i can just get everything, even the new characters, on wiiu without spending money on the 3ds version? that's great, happy to go all-in again

They should have done another map for Four Swords to include Vaati and a Four Swords weapon for Toon Link that lets him split into four clones to fight. Bonus points if the Four Sword changes Toon Link's hat to be Enzo

Just the weapons and characters, not the maps.

"Old Man" from Legend of Zelda would have been awesome. Aghanim as well. Then they could add a Scepter weapon for him. Called Aghanim's Scepter.

That's true. I was thinking of characters that would be "big", but the game is aimed pretty squarely at Zelda fans so even the most obscure characters will please many. I'd love to see characters like Malo, WW cannonball game owner, Batreuex, pretty much any unique NPC to be honost.

Has to be this

Does this mean Medli will be available from March 24th?

I guess it sucks that there's no Adventure Maps but they probably make use of the new maps and features in a way that they don't want to include on the Wii U. At least they're supporting the Wii U version.

Geez. They don't seem to be leaving anything for the hypothetical sequel that would cover the older games.

Is there anything left other than LoZ, ZII, and LttP?

Also this is getting nuts. I haven't gotten this game yet, always intended to, but Jesus I just want to be able to get all the content on WiiU and not pay a ton of money for it.

Fingers crossed for a Complete Edition on NX or something.

As many others have said it sucks the Adventure mode maps aren't coming to the Wii U version, it gives me barely incentitive to play with the new characters on the Wii U version and I have a regular 3DS so with the framerate being bad I really don't have much of a reason to grab Legends.

OMFG. I needs them.

ESPECIALLY if I can get playable linebeck and ravio.

I'm assuming the other ALBW char is hilda or maybe Yuga. Link's awakening would be fantastic if you could get the shopkeeper or wart or something else interesting (but it'll probably be marin with a wind fish summon).

This is getting confusing to keep up with which version has what. I usually don't port beg, but at this point I want them to port the game to the NX. 60fps, 720p or 1080p, whichever one they can get 60fps on and just include all the content from the Wii U version and the 3DS version. No more DLC after that, just a nice clean complete edition.

Hyrule Warriors 2: The Groose is Loose

Ravio is perfect for this game, he already has a scarf!

Thanks, couldn't remember when it was there.

In any case, I'm #TeamRichard.
Marin is ze waifu and she's too pure to commit any sort of violence.

Wasn't Richard himself just a reference to another game already?

I'm thinking Marin. She could sing and summon animals to attack for her.

This is awesome news. Marin, Ravio, and Yuga seem obvious, but I think Spirit Zelda will get in over Linebeck.

Keep telling myself that I won't get the season pass for the 3ds version as well.
That's a lie, day one.

Nice to see the titles represented though, especially Link's Awakening and Link Between Worlds. I just hope we get a remixed track of Tal Tal Heights in there somewhere!

Also I am so so pumped for Link's Awakening DLC.
