Yeah me too. Don't want to piss about with the JP version though and have to start all over again.

You won't have to start over, when the English version releases, you can then link your English My Nintendo account and switch your region so that it isn't Japan

Should I download this now and just switch my region to U.S once the other territories release?

I don't want to start over? If yes? How do I download the Japanese one on my iPhone?

Looking at the FAQs, you can't really change the account your Mii is linked to, so I'm not linking to any account for now.

But there does look like an option to change country - so I'm playing it, will change country to UK later and link that account.

I thought I already had a Twitter account but I guess not. Or it got deleted at some point.

Anyway, I have a new account @Aloysius_Minch pretty much just for Miitomo when it launches in NA.

The success of others absolutely infuriates me.
Game's really cool. Makes me excited for more Nintendo efforts on mobile. My twitter is @lionelized

I'll do it when I wake up in a few hours.

Thanks for the heads-up.
I was able to add you to the list just now! :)

I'm @kiriphii88 and have just added pretty much everyone on the list!
You're on the list!

Everyone is on the list!

Are there any wigs in the game, or do you just change your hair to suit different outfits?

You can edit your Mii at any point so I presume that covers that - not come across any wigs. Unless they do some as hats for whatever reason later I guess?

I have no idea how to add you guys. I followed everyone on the list in the OP and linked my Twitter, but nothing seems to have happened ingame.

My twitter is @MicH_miitomo

It's so "Nintendo" to release this in one territory and then leave the rest to wonder. It's like they don't know that people have the internet and can find out what's happening elsewhere.

Eh, this happens with loads of smartphone apps, to be fair. We know it's coming in March, and it's still March. I would say there's no problem yet.

Yeah, they should release a completely new game on two completely new platforms with completely new backend-infrastructure globally at the same time, so that you have the highest chance of a server-meltdown. Then when your first impression goes down in flames you can at least say that you disappointed the whole world equally.

Is launching an app really that hard for one of the biggest videogame companies on the planet?

Launching is easy, making sure everything goes smoothly is not.

We are talking about an app-maker who published their very first app and went to the No. 1 spot within 24 hours, while being super-heavily promoted on the front of the app-store. It's impossible to access the app-store and not see Miitomo as of right now. And right now marks the evening before a 3-day weekend.
I launched the app earlier and there was already a message from Nintendo about potential server-troubles (although I didn't notice anything strange).

There is a 'Body Suit Hat' - consider it to be a custom-coloured swim cap

There is also a 'Bunny Hood/Wig' Basically, think of Kyary Pamyu Pamyu with bunny eyes; thats a full wig which changes your hair completely.

I'm quite enjoying this thus far, and am quite looking forward to having actual friends on it. I think this got legs and could be a pretty decent success for them.

Wait, are you sure about that ?

Then what's the downside of downloading it right now through the japanese Itunes store ?

The only downside is that you can't immediately link your my Nintendo account until the official English version is released. If your download the Japanese version, you will be forced to set your region as Japan. However, once the English version is released, you can then change your region, which will then allow you to link your English My Nintendo account

What about the points you earn? They'll carry over when you change region and link your account?

Relax, muffin. I won't be mean to Nintendo again.

You aren't earning points unless you are linked to a Nintendo Account. So you won't get points for daily tasks until the app is officially out here. The big bonuses for things like linking to Facebook and Twitter will trigger after you link, though.

I wish they didn't add the candy feature where you can reveal someone's answer.

Also found out that the game will resume your Dropdown game if your phone crashes.
Mine did yesterday and it let me carry on when I booted the app again. Didn't win anything cool though. :(

Softlaunches are actually very common to smartphone games. You use one region to gather feedback and bug reports, so you can have a smooth global rollout a bit later.

Also, if Apple approached Nintendo to present Miitomo on stage of their event and launch it immediately afterwards (however likely that might be), then that would make for fantastic PR for Nintendo.

What is the correct way to rotate the mii in miifoto, I just can't do it when there is only one mii and can do it when there is 2 or more, but not consistently, is there a trick or special area I have to touch to rotate them? I can make them big or small, upside down, and drag them with no problems, it's just the rotation I can't figure out

It's a bit fiddly, but it seems if you move your finger while it's on the Mii, you move the Mii, but if you move your finger when it's not on the Mii then you rotate it instead.
