Even if the thing is fake, some of the reactions in this thread at the possibility of it being real are extremely over the top. So many baseless assumptions based on a picture and a tiny bit of info.

If he does/did delete it, I'd lean more towards it being a case of Nintendo forcing a 'we don't comment on rumors or speculation policy' and it having no indication towards real/fake.

Why are people saying the Treehouse retweet means it's fake? These people may not even know anything about internal affairs, R&D, prototypes and such. I assumed they're basically just PR demo people that set up the stage at E3.
Also, people make mistakes. If it costs this person their job, that's sad. It could also be the other way around - Nintendo already knows about the previous leak, probably just throwing a curveball.
People are so eager to claim fake just because one person comes out and says so. There's more proof that it's real than fake at this point, but it is probably a prototype, as said many times.

You know what? I love my buttons but this looks pretty cool and sexy and I really want to see and feel how it works. At least there's one console manufacturer who doesn't make he same controller for 20 years.

I think a touchscreen controller would be fine if it is expensive enough to include the tech that would make it as good or better than physical switch solutions.

I hope you're enjoying playing as Shovel Knight in Smash Bros. and also Starfox Zero is having a meeting to decide whether or not they'll delay it on the day after the Nintendo Direct where its release date was confirmed.
The latter was especially bad because after the release date was confirmed t not be delayed, he backpedalled on it by mentioning a bunch of information he apparently knew all along but apparently chose not to mention until then.
Too much flip flopping going on here.

What really gets me is that somewhere there is the dude who made this all up and he made the prototype and whatnot and he planned the whole thing and he figure out who to talk to and he used his little 3d printer and maybe a laser cutter and some other things too and he managed to get the whole internet riled up for it throwing arms and legs around like a crazy disco party back in the 80s when everyone was high on ecstasy or LSD or shrooms or whatever else.
