Guys if this is the controller, then the Wii Remote will be the secondary controllers, again. Implying we'll get Wii *insert letter here*.

I know some people are fine with haptic but it will never replace real buttons for me. There's a reason I don't play games that have haptic buttons on my phone. It's a lie.
Haptic could imo but it'd need to incorporate 3d touch too. The main problem with touch buttons is that you have to hover your hand over them when not in use. On your normal controller you can sit your thumb on any of them without pressing. However with 3d touch you could get a faint haptic rumble when your thumb rests on a button and a much sharper click when you press down on it with force. I've got a new retina macbook pro and this works amazingly well. It's almost indistinct from the physically click able trackpads.

This looks terrible in some many ways :
- This "controller" has literally no buttons, which will dramatically hinder our ability to play complex games. This has casual written all over it.
- This brilliant and innovative controller essentially ensure there will be no third party support for the console.
- This controller looks like much more than a controller, and is probably a handheld in and by itself - as per the rumors in fact. De facto bundling both a home console and a handheld will either increase the entry price, or decrease the hardware power, significantly.

This right there looks like a recipe for disaster.

that looks so uncomfortable to hold.

Yes, it does. I don't understand how this controller is going to drive the NX to be a success.

Nintendo, why can't you get back to concentrating on making a better overall console experience, instead of trying to make the next Wii? That's like catching lightning in a bottle. You can still make good games. Focus on that, and improving your console experience, and services.

You already have a phone with that technology!?

Am I crazy or are the majority of posters here complaining about a technology they never tried and might have never heard of until today?

If you look sideways at the Wii Cross controller, put it in a pale moonlight- say Praise Odin Tree times and then spin the image, put it through photoshop- eat a plate of wings and drink precisely 4.2 Budweisers, You'll get your answer that the Wii X as it were will be release with the new Bill Murray Ghostbusters Movie

Alot of assumptions here.

People see how much the Steam controller changed from it's time of reveal to release, I dont' see why we all have to believe this is the final product.

With that said, I'm supremely nervous about the direction this might be heading in, but I will give Nintendo a chance with it before I make up my mind. I've always jumped to everything Nintendo has created, but I'm very skeptical at this moment. But, like I have always heard, panic Nintendo is best Nintendo..

Or something like that.

The funny part is that defenders saying that this is to entice mobile users conveniently forget that these gamers don't actually buy full priced games on mobile. Hell, they don't even buy $10 games on mobile.

The whole thing would be a disaster. I still hope this is all fake and Nintendo didn't go full on crazy here.

Edit:

No, you just hold the nipple controller like a remote then since it will have motion controls built in as well! NEW Wii.

It's WiiNx (weenax)!

Dont think it's Massive, the trees are not there anymore.

it could be Bergsala which is the company that brought Nintendo to scandinavia

Well, first.

He is definitely reading this thread by the second. lol

Second, if he tweeted just to mess with us, he might've also gotten himself fired or a lesser punishment depedning on if it's real or not. So it likely wouldn't be worth it. Even if it's fake, that tweet would still be worth a talking-to.

Yeah. I'm leaning towards him thinking it was a funny thread with a, to him, pretty obvious fake and then realizing or getting told they should never ever acknowledge rumours and speculation in that way, even when not true.

An alternative would be him not having been shown or told about NX yet, and not realizing what he retweeted was actually something true. I just don't see him retweeting that if he knew it was true, that'd be strange af.

This picture wasn't taken with a potato so it must be real. I've come around on the design but if raised touchscreen buttons don't make an appearance, I will be passing.

Hm, now it's been deleted it raises a few questions.

Cause either

1. It's fake and he was laughing at the thread.
2. It's real and he was helping confirm that for goodness knows what reason.

If it's number 2, he could have some punishment, which lead me to believe it was case 1.

3. He's toying with us.

Again, my main point of contention is. The previous leak had photos on a shitty quality picture. Wouldn't it be easy enough to just turn the damn thing on if you were able to get MULTIPLE HIGH QUALITY SNAPS of the thing from different angles?

I don't see how they expect people to buy 3 other of these controllers as well, since it looks expensive. It also looks like it'll need a lot of power to stream to the controller.

I don't play games on my phone because a touchscreen cannot properly replicate dual analog. On-screen buttons... I've warmed up to them since playing Mass Effect 3 on the Wii U...

I'll reserve judgement until I play with it, but having actual analog sticks corrects the primary downside of touchscreen gaming for me...
