That form factor looks so gimmicky though.
And I've never said that from ANY nintendo product. I just can't see how it moves things forwards. Then again we know nothing.

I hope this is a hoax. That thing looks so uncomfortable to hold and just plain ugly. It looks like someone looked at the rear view mirror in their car and said, "Ahh, I should turn this into a controller!"

I went to the movies before page 50 and I'm back and we're now at page 100+
Did I miss much?
If the first one is fake, the second one isn't hard to fake either. Just do what you did with the last one but a black color to make people think it's a different unit.
While there are some unusual aspects that should put me on team fake, I do kind of dig it so I'm not sure.

Well, thumbs blocking the screen is certainly not an issue to A BILLION people who play smartphone games.

Yea, but how many smartphone games are designed to leave your thumbs on the screen covering the area for the entire duration of the game, vs short tapping or swiping segments? And honestly, fingers blocking the screen is one of the most common complaints about smartphone games.

Super Mario Maker, Super Mario 3D World & LEGO City Undercover require the gamepad. There are more, but I can't think of them at the moment.

I'm pretty sure 3D World doesn't apply here. In addition to the GamePad, you could use the Wii U Pro Controller, the Wii Remote by itself, the Wii Remote with a Nunchuk, or a Wii Classic Controller (Pro) to play the game.

Granted, the Captain Toad minigame levels had you use the GamePad's gyro controls as a camera in order to navigate Toad to the goal, and there are some stages with level gimmicks that require the use of some GamePad features, like the microphone and/or its touchscreen (Puffprod Peaks and Hands-On Hall come to mind in particular). But I'm sure those levels that utilized the GamePad's features and the Captain Toad minigame levels were both optional from the "main campaign" of levels (I definitely recall Hands-On Hall in particular being locked behind a Green Star quota).

Wildcard berths that can't beat teams without a winning record should have homefield advantage
So much of the screen will be wasted by hands holding it. If true.

I'll never understand this. It's like a finger width on the very edges of the screen. It's barely anything.

so for button configuration, the only way you can change anything is by adding an attachment with buttons. so you CAN have physical buttons if you really want them, but you'll need to buy the attachment separately.
i don't think you'll want to though because the touch buttons are really good. it doesn't feel exactly like physical buttons, but you can still push down and feel when they've been pressed because of the haptic feedback thing. if you run your fingers across them quickly, you wont feel the buttons, same as when the device is off... but that doesn't matter much because you'll very quickly get used to the positioning of the buttons. i'll admit, it does take a little bit to get used to it, but you'll forget about it after using it for a few hours.
As for the handheld, i dont really know. all I know of is the console, core gamepad(s) and the attachments. I'll update once i know more.
the price is lower, but that doesn't mean this isn't a powerful console. it may not exceed the ps4 (i don't know for sure), but it is definitely on the same level, if not, better than the xbone. that all doesn't really matter though, the games that will be announced will make you forget about the console. :)))

I'm not a massive player of mobile games ( think last one i played was flight control ) but i never heard someone complain about that. But that maybe because i'm not engaged in that community.

Holy hell...what is going on today.

My immediate reaction is "I am curious as hell and I want to see how it works". I am 100% on team real, and if it's somehow an elaborate hoax, this person deserves a massive trophy for such a hoax.

I really, really hope Nintendo reveals this thing before E3. I want more information.

If real then I'll wait until they show what their plans are for it before freaking out. Can't see any advantage to having a controller like this though.

I think it'd be much easier to use and more ergonomic if the screen was curved a little toward the edges - sometthing like Samsung's Edge displays. It would even look better.
However, I'm aware it's too complex/impossible to manufacture a curved edge of an oval display.

Can't really judge how uncomfortable/comfortable it is to hold without:

a) seeing the back
b) holding it

I mean for example the Wii U Gamepad looks like its horrendously uncomfortable from the front, but it's one of the most comfortable controllers to hold due to the ergonomics of the back.

"Leakers" need to stop mentioning the price of the unit, it just makes it more clear that they are lying.

How could the metal case be printed in 3d?

It seems allot of work to fool people, but you'll never know how far some people can go.
Remember that attention whore who made the fake Rayman in Smash with animated background and shit? Yeah...
