There are party skills also such as gathering is a starting one you get. Which allows you to gather vegetables and plants from collection points that appear once the skill is unlocked. What is nice too is you earn exp, money and SP (skill points) for collecting from said locations. Do appreciate that.[/QUOTE]
Yeah field skills which you earn crafting ingredients as well as a small amount of EXP and SP existed in Star Ocean 4 as well.
Indeed. Wonder if this game will have the "reverse-side" stuff. No idea what it was called in the localized ver. But was the skills allowing you to make counterfeit stuff. Was hilarious in SO2.
Oh god now i want to grind for skill points to up my party skills more.
Turning off ps4 now before my real status gets worse lol
On a completely unrelated note:
After that abysmal ending to Utawarerumono: Itsuwari no Kamen , looking at your avi kinda pisses me off, lol.
Oh well, minor details. Hope you feel better after some rest.
I'm very excited about this. Almost imported the game but the wait until summer won't be that long thankfully
Am looking forward to seeing how deep the skill system goes along with crafting. Since will be impressive if they can out do Star Ocean 2. But wont have my hopes up. As that game was borderline excessive, but that is what made it awesome also. Esp with how you could break the game using it.
Save points are cool but please tell me they're more abundant than usual in tri-Ace games. (Radiata Stories *shudder*)
This is definitely the number one thing I'm hoping the game has - lots of systems that make utterly breaking the game possible. Loved that stuff in SO2.
Does it have the special dodge mechanic of SO4? The one where you get a red exclaimation point as a button prompt to dash away from the attack and retaliate, usually putting the boss in a stagger stat
Nothing can be worse than the final dungeon in SO4 where the jokers are running around. I played for 4 hours without finding a save point. When I left my PS3 running all-night so I could continue the next day, my system YLOD'd and I lost the entire save file... 100+ hours down the crapper...
Bump what you're talking about, I need it as the sword wielding main character since I let AI handle everyone else, blindsides was what made SO4 epic to me.I truly, truly hope not. Blindsides trivialized combat, especially as Meracle.
Copy I ordered from Amazon should be shipping in a few hours. Shame game imports from there appears to have been short-lived, $63 to import a game and get it by the weekend is an insane deal compared to the prices and shipping times I've had to bear with when importing games from other places. :/
In a way the game having save points annoys me because tri-Ace games can be really stingy with them at times. Hopefully they've gotten better at it here.
yeah the game most def has good music
Always feel like he puts more effort into his Star Ocean tracks than he does with Tales.

This is definitely the case, or seems like it. Going all the way back into the 90s for sure. Even back then I got the impression that Sakuraba had a folder on his computer labeled "Tales fodder" and would just stockpile on D-tier songs leftover from his other soundtracks.
On a side note, I really can't handle the camera bobbing in these streams and videos. Are people actually adjusting to it...?
Don't know if it holds any truth, but some people have said that the Tales Studio tells him to "dial it back" with their games. Not sure why you would tell a composer that, so I don't think it's true.
With Xillia, I was requested to not make the sound too thick, so I kept that in mind as I composed. There is a specific color to the Tales sound, and I am careful to not lose sight of it. Personally I would have preferred to do something that differs more from previous games, but it's quite difficult.
As the other Tales scores were collaborative, I would compose with balance in mind, but if I do any others by myself in the future, maybe I will be able to do something a bit different. As for whether I prefer working together or alone, I'm sorry, but no comment.
outside of phantisia and destiny i dont remember much else with the tales music ( ̄▽ ̄

tri-Ace Sakuraba is definitely more quality on average than Tales Sakuraba and it shows. Still kinda weird that they let Go Shiina just go balls out though.
Oh man this looks and sounds so good! I skipped out on 4 so I've been missing some Star Ocean action.
by any chance, does this have dual audio?
Not really.
