Are you talking about NXGamer? The guy that thought QB was 1080p.Don't take my word on it as I haven't seen it myself but I recall there being some very recent discussion suggesting that ND is using some sort of reconstruction for SP to achieve 1080p. Again, I haven't seen it so I cannot say.

It's the YouTube comments that are actually cancer. Most people on NeoGaf are level headed and great. Discussion here rarely goes out of control. YT, though? It's a horrible hate fest.LOL at the comments.

Cue all the fucking idiots who can only think of "720p", ignoring the rest of the rest of the video, and doing their usual fanboy idiocy. Same clueless dickheads who dissed Alan Wake for its resolution.

Well, I hope I'm wrong. There was mention of it in a thread here on Gaf. Maybe it was even NX Gamer that suggested it (or someone else). I guess we'll find out soon enough!

Ok, that's good then. Was concerned there.NXGamer did mention that UC4 used similar reprojection/reconstruction tech, but he only pointed out on the shadows, I didn't recall he said UC4 used sub-HD frame reconstruction as a whole.
Where can I read these discussions?
Sure he did.No he didnt.
There wasn't anything on the framerate.

Neither can the PS4.
You can't really appreciate the resolution differences from the youtube videos. However this game is doing a very good job hiding aliasing, which IMO is more important than simply rendering at higher res without any regards for anything else.Im watching all these tech vids and to my untrained eye it looks just as good if not better as many 1080p titles.
Yeah, I didn't see the video in question - but there definitely is something going on with shadows in UC4. Or, if my take on it is correct, only the indirect shadows are affected by some special technique.Ok, that's good then. Was concerned there.
It looks like Xbox One falls short of Remedy's vision for this game in terms of graphics quality. The game would look awesome if the low resolution issues were fixed. The PC version will no doubt look fantastic, but I'm still waiting until it releases before I buy. Hopefully Remedy has put more effort into the PC port than what we've seen from other UWP titles lately.
NX gamer said that in that video about resolution. He thinks it is some similar technique to QB because shadow dithering???
Anyway, his opinion about U4 is based on nothing actually ( for now ).
He is quite wrong in some things recently.
Heh, Knack does have good image quality, but the frame-rate is ATROCIOUS. Would likely have run much better at 720p.Wait but it's 720p on Xbox One! What are they saying? Knack is better!

I really want to play this now, but my PC arrives late April. I think I'll stick it out to get the best experience.
and then, when Microsoft will send me the Windows 10 code for preordering
This game is just amazing, that's what you obtain when you let skilled developers work enough on their game, without pressing them for a release every year or two like most other AAA games nowadays, thanks Microsoft for allowing Remedy to make their best job
Dark how would this solution impact the PC release? It seems because it's so built into the game that just cranking up the resolution on the PC version isn't going to work like that.
Ha I swear every time you post it sounds like a box quote.
Wait, what?
I'm gonna start it on Xbox One instead, and then, when Microsoft will send me the Windows 10 code for preordering, i'll switch to PC, i can't wait to start this game on day one, and even if they sent me the PC code on day one, which is pretty unlikely, downloading 50GB is gonna take a while with my connection. Also this game must be played more than one time since it has multiple choices and perhaps endings, so i'll get to play it from start to finish only on PC too

Unknown! Rainbow Six Siege had its own unique reconstruction technique which could be enabled on the PC but it was completely optional. It massively improved performance at the expense of some clarity in motion.Dark how would this solution impact the PC release? I imagine they would ditch this approach and go for a more straight forward way, but this might (or might not) require them to significantly alter the rendering pipeline, so that might not happen, we'll see soon enough. On the other hand with cleaned up IQ, improved shadows and LoD, with all its bells and whistles it will be fucking mindblowing on PC, probably will surpass Ryse as the most graphically impressive game on the market.
Yes, because dark is known for doing that?
Regarding NX Gamer and UC4, he noted that details appear to increase over the course of the first 4 or so frames of a scene, much like has been noted in DF'S analysis of QB.
He then assumed a similar reconstruction technique is being used, but we will have to wait and see to be sure.
If I recall he said the final geometry buffer was still 1920x1080.
