18 minutes of Uncharted 4 gameplay

Got some serious mgsv vibes from if. Was waiting for sully to pull out his cigar and have sins of the father start playing while it transitioned from day to night.

Your thoughts are wrong then, at least regarding the hair and SSS. You can actually see the SSS on his ear from the muzzle flash of his gun in this segment of previous gameplay.

Wow wow such nice detail how the muzzle flash illuminates his ears and clothes through SSS. Really too much attention to details

ya'll still respond to obvious trolls

They're in every thread. Some aren't trolls, some are though. The hair thing is really silly.

It's pretty obvious we'll be able to see every little hair on their heads...lol. Even the 900p Ryse was detailed enough to see every strand of Marius' gloriously groomed hair..LOL.

We'll be able to see every flowing strand of Nate's well rendered head.

I'd expect that kind of detail in today's games. Looks good.

Looks absolutely stunning. Gameplay looks tight outside of the obvious:
-Dudes knowing the exact location of Nate after firing a single round. I can understand general area, but not exact location unless they saw him before entering cover.
-Marking, which should hopefully have a toggle to turn off in options.

Otherwise, super excited for May...it's still so damn far away...

This was really impressive and it flowed very naturally:

"Sam: Point is we have it pretty..."
*player wanders off*
"Nathan: "I'll be right back."
"Sam: Nathan?"
"Drake: Yeah, excuse me..."

*returns from spelunking*
"Drakie: Alright, let's go."
"Scully: Sam, what were you talking about?"
"Sam: eeh.. oh right! Point is we have it pretty easy. ...".

That part got me good. Real great, natural conversation scripting there.

Her comment about the rope is baffling. The rope is downright OP in multiplayer just so much fun to use. She mentioned it never felt advantageous compared to the normal skill set and proceeds to show a clip with Drake on the ground, looking at a wooden post and just climbing up the wall, completely ignoring the fact that the post was put between two elevated platforms so you can swing BETWEEN them, not upwards.

This isn't a Batman game, lady.

I never used it in the MP beta, but mainly because I felt like I hadn't quite grasped it, so most of the time it would just screw me over.

Wow 4K screens? Is that a hint for PS4K version? Does BlimBlim know sth we don't?

Also why are the videos segmented?

They are high res renders for print, we actually had one with like 16000 horizontal resolution.
As for segmented videos, until a few hours ago we only had a few minutes of broll that we were required to edit and comment over. Then Sony sent us the whole video and said we could release it without any edits as long as we would do a commentary over it.

Do you plan to release the whole vidoe in one chunk? Cus two parts kill the tension.

Eurogamer moaning that triangle is reload, as if button mapping/alternate control schemes never existed.

They really have a strange bunch of people working for them.

For the encounter at the end, there was like dozen of ways to approch this stealthly

Doing these was the funniest part to do in UC3 ..

The sadness iv'e got when the player went shooting was immense.

Uncharted is a shooter, I'm happy for those who like stealth that they made it a bigger option in 4, but Uncharted is meant for you to go guns blazing so it's kinda silly for you to be sad over someone playing it like it should be played. You'll have The Last of Us 2 in a few years most likely, so you'll be fine.

Oh i meant to make my comment here but on accident i did that in the previews thread....

I love it all, but two things i noticed and Gamersyde too. The A.I. of the baddies, they should be spotting the player sooner than they do here. This has never been an issue with Uncharted before, so i expect that to be fine in the full game. And destructibility. I was highly impressed with the E3 demo and how much destruction it showed...that kind of lacked here and Gamersyde said that as well.

I just hope none of that is toned down.

Some of you know I'm not a huge naughty dog fan,
I thought the last of us was a mediocre game with fantastic cinematic and graphics/sound.
Played Uncharted 2 demo on ps3 and thought was okay, years later I played the ps4 UC collection demo, and thought the game play was pretty bad.

Now I'm seeing uncharted 4 and I'm loving every minute of the video, great pacing
inspiring graphics, and it seems like it controls really well and fun which is the most important thing for me.

*Loved the A.I team up combos
*Love that rope, I cant wait to fool around and try to tie my partners during that tree binding scene.
*Love the graphics, makes me feel bad for Final Fantasy XV since I think UC4 feels open world without having to necessarily be open world, I think FFXV should have gone on that route to keep the FPS steady while really improving the graphics.

I wont buy it on release date due to my backlog, but I have no doubt that UC4 will be the best game that naughty dog has crafted.

I due hope there are bosses in the game and not just the same goons over and over,
bosses could be anything like, fighting a guy on a helicopter, dictators, warlords, Gang leaders, I don't know just me me feel like I took down someone important and not just some goon, build the enemies up, focus more on them so when I take them out It just feels right :) Like metal gear if you will.

Now, here's the dilemma I don't care to buy or beat the uncharted series, how friendly will uncharted 4 be for those who are just jumping in on this franchise, and will there be some sorta in-game recap of what happen in Uncharted 1-3?

From the Preview Thread. It's still there.

Don't worry, I'll vouch for them.

The complaint about the AI not spotting Drake sooner is probably because the games difficulty is on Easy or Normal.

Watched the gamersyde video for about 6 min.

I gotta say, the side stuff here is not appealing to me. I understand they wanted to make bigger, sprawling areas and I can appreciate that in the context of making the combat more fun and varied, but that waterfall side thingie just reminded me of Tomb Raider. You know how in TR you'd have these hubbish areas where you could walk around and stumble upon tombs or crates or wahtever? I don't want Uncharted to be Tomb Raider. I want a perfectly paced, exhilarating ride with great writing and funny quips, just like Uncharted 2.

When those MGSV previews were rolling out, I said I was just gonna stick to the main stuff and hope Kojima doesn't punish me for it. That didn't turn out so well.
Hope the same doesn't happen with UC4.

This is 6 minutes speaking, though. Still incredibly excited for the game.

I see what you're getting at, people were apprehensive at first when TW3 was going in a different direction and that turned out more than alright. I think UC4 will be alright.

Goddamn, I've had a hard-on for that jeep ever since they first showed it at E3 (two years ago?) and this just made me harder. I dunno, it just seems especially fun to drive somehow.
