If we have to have Kratos again, can we have the bastard learn and grow for once? He should be filled up on vengeance by now. Have him try to grasp onto some higher ideal than revenge. Even if he fails miserably at it, it would help.

-No blade of chaos, resulting (possibly) in a different playstyle?

At this point just change the combat also and make happy everyone who wanted gow to be something else entirely... Just make a new game.

I get the people who says "there are plenty of gods of war", but to me as a huge fan of the series, Kratos is THE gow. It just has a meaning to it thinking at the Kratos story.

I don't mind Kratos or whatever character would be in, I just wish he wouldn't be alone the whole time. It'll help the script a lot if we could interact with other characters more often, even share the battlefield (not asking for coop but share some moments of war with other characters would be great).

Sadly, from the artworks, the game doesn't seem to be open world or even open setting. It may keep the locked level design of the previous games.

That is some of the worst looking concept art i have ever seen. fugly.

And Kratos again? he turned into one of the most unlikeable protaganists ever by the end of GoW3. That's why that ending fell so flat. He's not even an anti-hero anymore. If Sony puts him in the next game i will be actively rooting for him to die the most horrible death ever. I hope they do a character switch after the prologue and let me kill him myself. I would do to him what he did to helios, posiedon, that running god and Zeus.

Seriously, fuck him.

The Kratos hate in this thread is tiresome, he has been the protagonist of the last 6 games, I don't get how you are all so shocked at him possibly being the main character in a 7th. If you all hated him so much I would assume you would given up on GoW a long time ago, so I don't see why you would care.

It's not like he's Aiden Pierce.

I'm not gonna call it the worst concept art ever, but it's really bland. And going by the angles presented it looks as if this game is going to play just like the previous haf-dozen games. Good looking out SSM.

The axe could simply be a tool among many other weapons in the game, though. I don't think it's indicative of much.

I would have preferred Chinese or Mayan, but this'll do. Alfheim sounds interesting.

I don't mind Kratos being back, I'd be OK either way.

I am curious how they tie this into GOW3. I thought Kratos, like, ended the world. He murdered every single god and the earth was flooded and covered in hell tornadoes. Not sure how people are gonna bounce back from that.

The grey artworks talking about the plants interactions reminded me of the flora in Xen in HL1. It could be very interesting.

It's a fake beard! Kratos will storm through Valhalla and confront Odin taking his beard off and screaming angrily: "AHA Fools! It is me, Kratos. It was me all along! Now I kill you."

I have always liked his design, it's just the actual character sucks. Also Norse is cool.

I remember Cory saying in a not too old interview that he's not a big fan of super huge open world games.

I expect a new GOW from him to either be same old same old, or more like Tomb Raider or Zelda games.

Kratos does gather tools throughout the God of War games but there's too many to all be visually presented on his body at once. Which is why environment concept art w/ Kratos never had him holding up Medusa's head or something. It looks like we'll always be seeing him with the axe because that's the only image of him we get in environment concept art, so it's probably the main weapon.

No one expected him to not be here, people don't want him to be here.

You know it's funny in the main games we only played as him as the god of war for the first level of God of War 2 and he had most of his power stripped.

Hope the beard is fake.

What saddens me about this whole thing is the possible PS4K. If rumors are to be believed GoW4 will be developed with the PS4K in mind and the OG PS4 will play a gimped version. I don't hate the idea of the PS4K and will probably buy it day one, but having to spend $400-500 to truly play one of my favorite Sony IPs is troubling.
