I feel like you're being sarcastic but OrbitalBeard already said enough. DeS was a brand-new IP and game and Shuei passed up on it, Sony have been quoted saying that it just didn't look good.
Atlus picked it up for publishing but the IP remained Sony's and so released on PS3. Shuei spoke for years about how much he loved the Souls series and it was clear he wanted to give FROM the ability to a create an exclusive title for the Playstation again.
For what it's worth, I'm not interested in a Bloodborne 2. The world was cool but it was too ambigious and didn't really grab me like Souls. As for the exclusivity, I don't really mind. Games are expensive and if publishers on manafacturers wanna foot the bill for a new IP then be my guest. It's better than safe bet Dark Souls 4.
Sorry, I wasnt trying to be sarcastic at all. I didnt know when you said it was different situations you were speaking from Sony's point of view.
All this is cool and all but again, I'm sure Sony now wants to be friends and all, I just dont see on FROM side when they would bite when they can do better from themselves now a days.
I liked Bloodborne a lot and if I could choose I would like either Bloodborne 2 (on multiplat) or a new IP. But if all there is to choose is PS4-tied title or anything else, I take anything else, the performance just breaks it for me. And its not even related to PS4 for me, I would buy Demon's remaster in hearthbeat as long as it runs like SOFTS on PS4.
Demons souls was made from a failed project which sold terribly in japan which went on to be a cult hit WW
Bloodborne was made after the success of the souls series WW.
Yoshidas gone out to say they dropped the ball on not localising and nurturing the Demons Souls ip.
They are 2 very different situations.
I've already answered, your points are all very fair, I just dont think FROM's situation is the same than back then (even from a Bloodborne point of view). I'm sure Sony wants (if not already done) more games from FROM.
Isn't bloodborne a 1st party game though? I thought asking for a multiplat sequel would be the same as asking for uncharted 4 to be multiplatform.
does dark souls 3 on consoles have the same framerate issue that bloodborne does?
Demons Souls -> Dark Souls
Bloodborne -> Bloodbourne? xD
To your second question, I understand framerate and frame pacing still pretty bad in DS3 on consoles.
