It is a pocket bible, you heretic!

Link finally returns to Christianity.

I'm in love with this Link interpretation. He's drop-dead-gorgeous.

As is the artwork, vibrant, dynamic and colorful. Way better than the first SS artwork.

As a crazy fan of Tp Link art I have to say I digged this. Hope that the in game model does jutice to this art.

Agreed about the art comparison. I was surprised to be reminded of what the original SS art was in this thread. SS, in my opinion, is way prettier than that concept art.

In this case, the art is gorgeous and the game looks to be gorgeous, too, so I'm happy.

I like it a lot. Curious that they made Link more masculine from the earlier stuff instead of looking more androgynous. I'm hoping Emily's rumor is true about a female alt.

It's great artwork, but I'm slightly disappointed that they've changed his face to look more like Link. In the original trailer he looked a lot different and I loved that.

It's possible that it's a case of them refining the look as to avoid confusing for an inaccurate gender presentation that might not be the developer's intent. I mean, a lot of us thought the reveal showed a female. I guess we will find out soon enough though!

Thing you see on Link'sback is a quiver, probably full of more of those energy arrows or whatever they are.

Book hanging from the front is a probably talking codex like Grimoire Weiss.

Edit: Yeah, just a quiver in the back. Link's actively pulling arrows from it in the 2014 trailer. The codex/tablet thing isn't present in the 2014 trailer and a generic satchel is just there instead. You can see that it's resting on top of the satchel, though.

It would be kinda interesting to get the green tunic towards the end of the game.
This is what I'm hopping to happen. I have a baseless feeling this game will have a much bigger emphasis on equipment, with multiple primary weapons and outfits you can freely change between, so in that scenario saving the green tunic till the end would have the most impact (much like the Hylian shield in SS).

Looking closely the bottom of the "book" it has a weird shape. Maybe is not really a book and more like a magical stone/artifact?

Really hope that's a spell book and that spell casting like Zelda II is making a comeback. I could see the spells as big icons on the game pad, easy quick access.

That looks nice, but I'm disappointed that Link looks so decidedly masculine compared to the E3 trailer. I was sort of hoping they would give him a more gender neutral design.

Edit: You guys see a book? I see a smartphone strapped to Link's waist. Expect to be able to interact with Zelda NX using your smart devices.

Edit 2: Seriously.

I'm calling it now: that thing is a piece of ancient future technology, just like the mechanical beast seen in the trailer.

I bet its going to be the mandatory companion telling you about how to open doors or how that eyeshaped button its probably going to be the solution of the puzzle

He doesn't need to look gender neutral now that he has a FemLink counterpart.

I'm half joking, but it wouldn't surprise me.

No you can't?

Yes, you can. The top of the back of the right boot is visible through his right thigh, and the heel of the right boot is visible through the left thigh. Look for the bits of brown on the pants. They follow the exact shape of that boot.

There are other places in the image where the foreground is loose enough to show through (look at the shield), but it's a bit jarring to me for that to happen on a spot like the leg where you have two "layers" to go through before hitting the background, instead of just having a distinction between background and foreground.

Huh. Neat observation. I recall GameXplain noting that item in their E3 2014 analysis (or maybe it was the TGA one), but I don't remember anyone suggesting it might be a smartphone.

I'm not a Zelda fan but I really like it.
Glad he doesn't look as androgynous as he did in that old trailer.

Oh, I just figured out what why Link's right hand looks so weird. He's gripping the string upside down (for some reason). The scratchy art style made it rather difficult to tell.

It's so awesome, my god why we have to wait until 2017? :(

I think this is one of the best style ever seen for a Zelda game on my taste.

Also I like the new face, I'm not a fan of female Link.
