Uncharted 4 street date broken as thieves steal copies

Finished. Wonderful ending. I teared up a little knowing this is the end for the franchise and Nates stories. That said, took me 15 hours and since the statisticks dont count cutscenes from what Im told, I'd guess the game was anywhere from 17 to 19 hours in length. My favorite third person shooting adventure game of all time. Naughty Dog you wonderful geniuses, you all should be so proud of what you made here!

Gat damn.

...were Uncharted setpieces ever that lengthy? Besides the UC2 train of course. Stuff like the UC2 collapsing building and UC3 plane were always pretty brief in the grand scheme of things.

Depends on how you define set piece. The best set piece type stuff has been basing a long gameplay segment, like a entire chapter, around some kind of huge menace or special situation. In 2, the Nepal chopper and train and Tibet tank played those roles, for example. Then there are smaller segments like the train and horse chases. So really it's multiple set pieces pieced together with quieter moments.

I found the plane set piece in 3 very cool but also somehow below expectations, because there was a lot of buildup to it (not just press-wise but in the preceding chapter), and then the plane segment itself was quite brief. Cool, yes, but IMO not one of the highlights of the series.

Thanks for all the impressions!

Ugh, I need this game now.

let's see if he can seal the deal by confirming no forced walk

You referring to like moments of just talking and walking? If so I wanna say there is some moments like that, more towards the beginning if I'm remember correctly, but overall not much cause extra dialog either happens during the fights or traveling or as the extra bits you can kick off.

Here are some new pics, once again nothing majorly spoiled and from locations we have already seen on the videos mostly or some other locations but that are not really spoiling what it is or where... but to showcase lighting effects, but of course, view at your own discretion:

Borderlands 3, caaaaatch a thieeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeef!

Sad thing is, Borderlands 3 will look 10x uglier that this.

I absolutely loved 10 Cloverfield Lane. By far the best movie I have seen on theaters this year. So his opinion being that positive about the game is music to my ears!

He's not only director, he was part of Totally Rad Show. He reviewed many films/comic/games together with his great crew.

Hmm.. UC4 sounds like it'll be the GTA V of the series. The best playing one and arguably more accomplished game but San Andreas(Or Vice City) had a bigger impact at that time.

In that case, that's just a personal feeling and not a actual con of the game. Nostalgia and timing plays a role.

I'm good with this description, it makes sense that the 4th game will have a more difficult time to be as impactful as the game that invented the franchise and was one of the most influential in the last decade.

In terms of a leap, you're probably right. But that's how games work. In terms of graphics/envelope there will be diminishing returns over time. Leaps will get less impressive; smaller and be more about detail, depth and design.

UC4 sounds like it's all about detail and depth. It may be unprecedented in that regard, but yeah, not as much of a leap as UC1 to UC2. Which is more than enough for me.

Yes and no. There's still a lot of wit and the chemistry between characters is incredible. Especially the brothers, there's a few exchanges that made me chuckle and they really do feel like brothers. The game has a darker tone to it all though, things are less wacky and more straightforward this time and Nate has matured a lot as a character.
To be honest it's a very nice change of pace. It's not a negative as it fits very well.

Music to my ears.

I hope the grittyness is true. I would love a darker take on uncharted.

like the very first teaser showed. Looked dark as hell.

It sounds like the biggest leap was in graphics more than anything, everyone emphasis how amazing the game looks and the sceneries, so I don't think diminishing returns play any part in the visuals.

But it might play a part in the gameplay, not only in Uncharted but videogames in general, scale is bigger but it's really hard to invent the wheel at this point, especially with established franchises, you can only provide the most polished, biggest and most detailed game you can do in today's technology, and just like GTA5 it seems like U4 is just that, and that's great to me.

I expect TLOU2 to be the same in a way, it will probably be much bigger, smarter AI, maybe will include some actual driving like in U4 now that they can stretch the scale like this, obviously prettier, but it will be extremely hard to top the first game's impact.

Really nice to see these super-positive impressions. I was afraid the game would turn out to be somewhat rushed due to its development issues and Hennig leaving, but glad they managed to turn it around big time.

Just saw some videos, best graphics ever made, nothing will top this anywhere anytime soon except next Naughty Dog game.

Pack it up it looks better than real life.

They've turned nothing around. It was always going to be a great game.
