wow dude, when people kept saying WW games i kept imagining something boring (though the ones from back then were good but not good enough for today standards, personally speaking) but this was epic as fuck and the conquest version of this looks fucking mindblowing with the crazy stuff i love about the battlefield games (specially conquest mode)

Cool, thanks.

Just for curiosity sake, what's up with Hardline?

It tries a lot of different things, and is pretty cool. The whole militarized police aspect definitely rubbed a lot of folks the wrong way, but I don't think it's meant to be taken much more seriously than a hopped up game of cops n' robbers.

I guess one issue is that there are fewer guns than there are in Battlefield 4, even after the content updates. And I don't know if the balance is as well refined.

Still pretty fun for $10.

It's just wrong... it's wrong! /cartman voice

Too much to cover to be honest. But just take people's advice. BF4 is the real deal, and still the best shooter this gen to date with TitanFall up there too. But BF4 has a ton of content and support.

Yeah, I'll probably get BF4. I was just curious.

Since it wont be 1080p on consoles according to DICE, its going to be aiming at 60 most likely

I just don't see it being possible with those graphics, 64 players and with full destruction. It made since with Battlefront due the he limited amount of players and no destruction.

The tone of that trailer, the music rendition and the setting oh how I view WW1 are on polar opposites. Like WW2 is a setting that usually has an air of respect levied to it. Maybe they were just following hollywoods queue there. But to go all out "war f-yea!" For WW1 is bizarre to me.

It doesn't bother me in a COD or a fake conflict. But when you do this for a real event it bugs me
Seriously. At least the Medal of Honor was inspired by Saving Private Ryan and such

This, for the first big budget WW game ever?

I'm hoping the campaign is a bit more mature

Yeah, it's such a weird mismatch.

Soldiers choking on mustard gas to a 'glitch mob' cover of a song.

Wait this isn't alt history?

How the hell does it work then? WWI was a slow, carefully plodding war in trenches that can only be described as hellish.

Yeah, there's never been a Battlefield 1 either. It works on a few levels.

What's interesting is that they never actually mention "World War I" or "The Great War" in any of the marketing materials. I guess those terms are still pretty loaded with negative connotations even 100 years later.

Wow that looks unreal. It will now be the first year that I do not purchase COD since the start of MW series. Battlefield will be my go to fps for this year.

Well, that did look ridiculous.

I was especially curious to see the editing, since DICE tweets about CODs.
Not going to lie, I really wanted to mock this for being roughly the same old shit, but i have to admit that was some outstanding video editing job.
And, of course the crazy graphics.

Choice of music is pretty clever. It's supposed to be jarring and make you want to pierce your ears with a screwdriver. That, it certainly does.

After the Twitter incident I really wanted to hate this, but can't.

It's essentially CG made using the game's assets and cutscene tools.

Well, there's one part that's clearly gameplay, which is the gif in the OP.

Lol even that gif doesnt look real time gameplay to me . But yeah now it make sense. CG with game assets

To be fair, the goldmine with past wars are the many untold stories to tell and the unique fronts. Not the "enemy types"

Well, yes. Which is why the AAA output in the FPS genres continues to be in it's low-point in my opinion because it's all dominated by those type of themed titles.

Of course, i forgot to add how suffocatingly scripted these games usually are.

Yeah, it's kinda disturbing to see them taking one of the most tragic and darkest periods in human history and then talk about how awesome it is to gas people and stab them in the chest with a bayonet.

Fantastic trailer. Even the music choice, since it sells the down-washed hollywood idea of WW1. But I'm there day 0, for the glory of the German Empire.
