Should of made motorstorm. Honestly I don't think this will sell well.
motorstorm wouldn't have either though imo
time to move on sony.

Even a €60/$60 GT7 Prologue with 3 tracks and 20 cars would easily outsell any Motorstorm title.

You really don't seem to understand the power of the Gran Turismo brand in Europe. If even GT6 sold more than 4M units when the focus was entirely on PS4, that should tell you everything about that. This game as the first Gran Turismo on a new console that is selling well will sell at least 6M, unless Sony goes through with the madness of PS4 Master.

The trailer on Youtube has 2080 likes to 80 dislikes. I think it's safe.

People here complaining just would complain no matter what. PD is giving us a game the fans have been vocal about! They wanted a game that was built from the ground up with no left overs from previous gen ala GT3 and that's exactly what we're getting! They even gave us a livery editor, which people have been begging for since 2007.

I would have preferred them keeping the old cars but whatever.

This looks good, may not have been the graphics leap i was hoping for, but will definately pick it up.

PS: that music is god damn awful! why they got some baby making sound effects.

Quite frankly the biggest issue I have with the game is that the vision doesn't seem coeherent. They clearly are going into a spin off title claiming this one is racing centered instead of another Car Collector Pokemon game with silly events thrown in but then Photo Mode doesn't make any sense especially taking pictures with a racing spec car in the middle of a desert. What is the point if your game is focused on motorsport? It just seem like a GT7 Lite feature in the middle of the road between GT Mainline and a truly racing game.

Then the jury is still out about the AI, tyre management and internal damage model. They really need to nail all those 3 if this is indeed a racing focused game unlike mainline GT games, shadows, trees, smoke are completely irrelevant in that regard.

This game will sell a lot, don't kid yourselves.

The lack of a number in the title will hurt sales a bit. People will see it as even less than a prologue but it's still GT. They sold GT5 Prologue as a €40 title and it barely had any content and it still sold more than 5M units IRC.

3 years into a generation people in the Playstation crowd will buy anything that says Gran Turismo on the cover. And if the online actually manages to emulate some of the iRacing qualities then even the hardcore crowd will buy in.

The official trailer "captured on PS4" shows tearing in some points. Im pretty disappointed with the visual fidelity ingame. Photomode looks surreal, though.

PS4 racing game deprivation, marketing, PSVR-support and November/Christmas release-window will help a lot, but I'm pretty sure it will have the lowest review scores of any GT game yet. I mean, look at that Eurogamer article from today...

.

Just because the game is more racing centered doesn't mean that racing audience doesn't like to admire cars and graphics in pretty environments. Even Assetto Corsa has a photo mode...

I saw the trailer that was captured from the PS4 and i was looking for something to be appalled or offended about.

It looks like a racing game. I wasn't blown away but I do think the visuals look good. I'm interested in seeing how it improves closer to release.

And yea. This game will sell. It just depends how much marketing Sony is willing to put into it. Which I assume would be quite a bit. I do think this genre is waning but it does have a market and GT would be the IP to attract to most users based on brand recognition.

Also I'm sure the content and roadmap for this game will be similar to Driveclub. updates, Free and paid content. I suspect this game will make lots of money.

And if this thing is VR ready day 1. I see that as a huge selling point for people with PSVR and a reason to get PSVR as well.

Was GT5 considered a visual masterpiece when it was released? Because I skipped that one but got 6, and while it was a great game it wasn't exactly a looker.

So if I'm gonna go buy a G29 with pedals and gear shifter, what kind of racing seat should I be looking at?

Do you have room for a Playseat Evolution or similar? I have a Playseat Challenge since I don't have much room but I would've went for an Evolution if I could have.

I never had a chance to actually judge it because it was too busy screen tearing every lap.

it is not just brand. GT titles are very playable and fun. People complain a lot while sinking hundreds of hourse into them.

Thanks for this. Playseat was the brand I were looking for. I don't have space for an Evolution, so might go for the Challenge but how is it? And how do I even mount the separate gear shifter?

Just ordered the limited Edition myself. Can't wait to put time into this game. Fuck man I'm going to have so much to play this year.

You'd need to customize it to get a shifter mounted. There are some posts over on the Project Cars forums showing various solutions people have come up with but it's mostly Thrustmaster wheel users.

If that's too much work I think a Wheel Stand might be decent.

GT5 had pretty bad performance issues at launch. Screen tearing, framerate drops everywhere. They eventually patched it, but the patch changed every race to rolling starts (to avoid having a dozen cars bunched up on the first corner tanking the framerate). The game tried to push a resolution that the PS3 couldn't handle (1280x1080), and they sacrificed performance to get there; if you wanted a solid framerate you had to switch your PS3 to 720p output.

When GT6 came around, instead of going back to the drawing board, PD instead pushed the resolution even further, so the framerate got worse, and every race was still a rolling start.

I half expect GT Sport to have no visual enhancements over the PS3 games because Kaz wanted the game to run at 4K or something.

I don't care what they say. To me, this feels like a prologue. And I'm not saying that as a bad thing. I feel there will be another gran tourism sooner than later after GT sport, but I'm excited for this game and I'm sure it will sell well.

GT6 was panned and came out when everyone was all about ps4 hype train already. Yet that game still moved a bunch of copies. I would be willing to bet nearly anything that this game will outperform and outsell gt6. Maybe even gt5.

Just give me a smooth 60fps during gameplay AND replay.
I don't care about the sound though.

I'll be there day 1. :)

Where the hell is the day and night cycle.
I'm not kidding, my purchasing decision rests on this feature being in or not. The sounds don't bother me like it does to other people (though I can still recognize them being lacking). The difference between the trailer and the actual gameplay shown off today clearly shows that they're actively working on improving the visuals so I don't see that being an issue. But day/night cycle is an essential feature to me now in sim racers.

It's exactly the reason why I haven't bought a single Forza Motorsport game since 3. Once GT5 came out, I realized just how much of a difference the feature makes, especially in this genre which features many repeated tracks/locations due to the nature of the game. Dynamic lighting/weather conditions really helps keep them fresh for a longer period of time. I refuse to get any racing sim without it now.

darkinstinct

...lacks reading comprehension.
I don't think there will be another 'mainline' Gran Turismo.
This new one is a platform that will grow and grow. Game as a service.

Pretty sure they have already said they are working on GT7 and Sport is just a meatier Prologue.

Uhhh but they did go back to the drawing board as the engine was all new for GT6. Content was carried over but that is irrelevant to performance.

I can't believe There has been no mention of dynamic weather/tod.

Huge step backwards if they go back to static scenarios.

Wait, ten hours after the reveal of the next GT we are still at page 6? How?

There were about 5 different threads so responses have been split across all of them. Do,a search and you'll see what I mean.

But it doesn't help that most people have ended up being dissapointed with what they've seen.

That's what I'm worried about with the release date so soon. I bet we get an unfinished product with technical issues.

So... you are saying that it looks worse than GT6 in some aspects?, not that i disagree... but it's just that i am royally disappointed, yeah yeah... still in development... the freaking foliage walls ain't going nowhere, and neither are the stupid 2d spectators. Even though i knew that i'd be disappointed... i didn't think i would be to the extent that i am.

I'm still buying regardless due to GT being an integral part of my gaming upbringing, there's this charm to GT that I can never replicate with other racing games. But man do I sometimes feel that if Kaz would only pop his head up and see what the competition is doing, and then use his perfectionist mentality to one up them, GT would be incredible.

I feel that exact same way right now along with frustration, depression, underwhelmingness, and disappointment.

The game looks very unpolished at this moment but I also think it's crazy to expect anything less than GT6 in visuals, IA, physics etc unless I've missed something. For me, it's easier to believe it was a old build and the trailer was edited almost last minute and / or with random footage.
There's no excuse to release what they showed today, no matter VR, online or 60fps target.
At the same time, I'm very excited for the new concept of this Gran Turismo.

Its very confusing. They have a close release date yet the game looks very far from finished. Some of the graphics are clearly placeholder, which is bizarre.

I have this strong urge to go visit PD, or stalk them for a day and try to buddy up to some random workers on a lunch break. I would love to know wtf they are thinking. With what they have at their disposal they should be smashing it out of the park. But instead gamers are getting the worst impression and while I am sure the final product will be better than it seems now I am also very sure that the online racing will need a lot of work as almost nobody applies logic to their online setups.

It was. GT6 was also amazing visually but had frame-rate issues, not sure how you can say it wasn't a looker. I dont think there is another racing game out there that looks better. Maybe Pcars when the stars align.
