Eurogamer: The Evil Within 2, Wolfenstein 2 to be announced at Bethesda presser

They then say that. Is someone saying they liked the original confirmation to you of a sequel?

Using vague rumours as a confirmation is silly.

To me, that quote simply reads that they don't have any concrete information on the game itself but are confident in its existence.

News flash, some people actually enjoy being surprised by what's at conferences

You've been on the internet for how long? You'd think people would learn by now not to visit NeoGaf for spoilers. Especially if you don't want to be spoiled right before E3.

If they're doing Wolf 2 then they need to remove the absolute tedium that is picking up all the ammo, that ruined the game for me.

Playing through a second time, can totally agree with this. Half of my playtime seems to be running parallel to shelves spamming triangle.

Plus, Mecha-Hitler please. I'll even settle for a mecha-Goebbels

I'm down for some more TEW, if they are using Doom's engine it should solve the performance issues.

What's generally seen to be the major pros and cons of evil within? I know a lot of people seem to have a beef with the story or something about it needing the DLC in order to make whole sense or something

Great news if true.

Evil Within was that good?

Personally, it was my favourite game of 2014.

What's generally seen to be the major pros and cons of evil within?

Pros: Superb pacing and variety, blatant homages to RE4, REmake and Silent Hill, story is surprisingly detailed and interesting

Cons: Bad framerate in places, black bars (which can be disabled for a performance hit) partially obscure view, almost every enemy in the game has a one-hit kill regardless of difficulty (which I kinda like honestly)

Then why are you on a gaming forum a week before e3?

This attitude annoys me. There has never been in recent memory, an e3 where huge chunks of what is going to be shown was not leaked, teased or revealed within the couple weeks beforehand. Even last year's so called "e3 of Dreams" was pretty much leaked the day before :- it's just nobody believed it.

It's obvious that if you are on this site or similar ones over the next 7 days, some e3 spoilers are going to surface. Yesterday was the start and by Friday, outside of a handful of surprises, we should know almost everything that will be shown.

Have a problem with that? Stop visiting the site , log out of Twitter, Facebook and YouTube and don't visit any technology/gaming/nerd culture site for the next 6 days.

Because that's the only way you are going to be surprised at e3.

The Evil Within was one of the biggest disappointments of last gen. Started well and devolved in to a mess pretty fucking quickly.

Saying that though, there is potential and I'm interested to see what they do and how they improve upon the first with the sequel.

What's with the assumptions that id Tech 6 will solve The Evil Within's performance issues?

The Evil Within used the same engine as Wolfenstein: The New Order which happened to run like butter on current gen hardware.

What's the difference here?

That's hardly a basis to include it in your headline which states that the game is happening.

No, I don't think you understand what I mean. They're confident the game is happening (they likely have sources) but they have little to no information on anything pertaining to the game itself...the game's setting, how long it's been in development, etc.

Disappointed if they aren't going to announce Quake.

I suppose Doom did just come out so maybe a bit soon but it would have been nice to have confirmation that id are working on Quake next.

I'm holding out for this as well. It's the 20th anniversary, the timing's perfect.

This.

As I said earlier in the thread, Eurogamer is going off its own sources as well. They're not solely going off previously reported rumours.

The Evil Within 2 we haven't heard anything notable about although a sequel is generally expected

To me, this is saying we don't have any noteworthy sources for this rumour, but we think this will happen because it did well.

If they did have sources, they'd say that.

Holy Crap, Evil Within 2!!
please please please focus on the great combat and not the stealth and overly scripted stuff like in the dlc...

All of those blurbs after the initial few sentences seem to be relaying general information that is already known to the public.

The article seems to exist because they have heard from at least one source that these games are in fact being announced, with little information given to them beyond that. The rest of the article is giving background info on the origins for many of these rumors. TEW 2 doesn't really have any, which is why they say little about it.

No difference honestly, just wishful thinking. Even a locked 30 would be appreciated though.

I didn't expect much of the Bethesda presser but if this is true it's really good.

Still not gonna a lose sleep for it though.

What can Wolf 2 be about though, if it's a sequel to TNO?

Super excited for it though. After TNO, I will buy whatever Machine Games is doing at this point, for the story alone.

im more hyped for Prey 2 to be honest. I might be the only person in the world that enjoyed the first game.

They've had more time to familiarise themselves with id Tech 5/6 since the launch of The Evil Within, which was their first time using the engine.

I just hope Zenimax give them the time needed to put out a well-optimised game.

Still think they would be better off with something like UE4 though.

I cant wait to see what is Machine Games preparing for WTNO sequel. My 2014 GOTY and one of the finest FPS games ever created.

I don't think it's him considering he said TEW will be the last game he directed.

No. He has said TEW will be the last pure horror game he wants to direct.

I'm preying that Prey 2 still resembles that early demo from HH.
There were rumors flowing around the web few years ago that Arkane accepted the order from Zenimax to work on Prey 2 only under the condition that they have full freedom to do whatever the they want. Apparently they said "fuck it, we are gonna make new system shock". This could all be false ofc.
