Hope this succeeds and has longevity. I LOVED Titanfall, but the online community dried up so quick on PC, getting into matches is a pain

A big shooter like this has to launch in fall. It's seemingly hard for people on GAF to fathom but the boost you get from launching in the fall window BY FAR overshadows the drawback of a crowded release window.
What do you expect the developer to do? It's still an EA game in the end.

Maybe. But market is so saturated with shooters that i just cant get excited anymore and unfortunately robots just don't really do it for me.

Never played the first game, but I was always interested despite the multiplayer-only nature, so I'm glad that it's coming to PlayStation and has a single-player campaign now. The story sounds pretty damn interesting.
Mostly, right now, I'm just surprised to find out the Titans are sentient.

The best thing they can do is give both Titanfall and Battlefield strong marketing.
With good marketing I can see Titanfall 2 doing a solid 2 or 3 million sales across all platforms at least, if not more.
Well EA doesn't own the franchise, Respawn does. So at the point of the interview, it wasn't out of their hands. The fact that Titanfall 2 is still an EA game would indicate that EA remains the best offer they have in the industry right now, so it is what it is. You think that releasing the game on Steam is the only consideration they would make with regards to their continued business? There are tons of factors. I'm sure they would love for it to be on Steam, but they probably love having a strong publishing partner more, to allow them to actually make a game to begin with.

Hmm, can't find anything specific, just that post from Jon Shiring saying they aren't planning on merging code from Valve because they have modified the engine so much which everyone is pointing to as proof.
Respawn is also working on an EA Star Wars game, which makes Titanfall 2 on Frostbite more believable.
Guess we will find out in about an hour.

But seeing Titans launching pilot and a Titan using a f'in sword (which was even better than I could have imagined)?

I had to watch again just to make sure. And yeah---that shit gets me pumped. I love Call of Duty and Battlefield, but they've let me down just a few too many times before. Think it'll be Titfanfall for me this year.
