Just finished work. Is there an archive of this show anywhere, or am I resigned to just watching the YouTube videos of each game?

Its not a typo, just trying not to come off as a fanboy... I thought it was immensly better than MS conference which was pretty bad at several points...

Its not that I am not happy Sony had such a powerful show, just that it seems they are on a different league now. :/ (see i did it again :D)

Haha, it's fine. :p

Does anyone have a link to Geoff's Post-Conference discussions? That Youtube gaming homepage is giving me a headache with all its endless tabs.

Caught up on the last few announcements that I missed, really awesome stuff. The pace of this conference was just insane, and I liked the super direct approach they took. Made for just a fun show all around, which is exactly what you want from these things.

My biggest gripe with the conference, and this was true of last year's as well, is that despite how great all of the new games they announced look, they are so far off. Other than Horizon, (which had another wonderful showing) none of these games are going to be released by the time E3 2017 rolls around. I've become a big fan of seeing quick turnarounds between games getting announced -> demoed -> released, but I suppose it just gives me more time to find a sweet deal on a PS4.

All in all, great conference. Sony is really killing it with their first party titles, glad that we know what everyone is working on now.

I'm home, missed the conference, catching up. Seemed good for fans of the games shown. Well paced (ABOUT FUCKING TIME SONY), tons of stuff, good footage of existing games, long footage of new games.

Just a shame most of what was shown is unappealing to me personally. I assume PlayStation aficionados are very happy though, and that's the main thing.

Pretty much my reaction. Good conference, but really unappealing games to me
Except for Horizon, which looks good but its not for me, there was not a single game that was gameplay driven. Everything showcased was a cinematic mayhem, that puts production values over gameplay or game design any day of the week.
I still not see a reason to own PS4.

True, lol.

Here's hoping that SE doesn't want VII to clash with XV's 6 month marketing campaign and will start showing it after the later releases.

*fingers crossed

Yeah, I wonder about that.

Probably next shot I think is TGS, though that might be too close, so maybe PSX along with that "winter" KH3?

Gamefaqs user polls gave Sony an "A" and MS a "C"
Sounds about right.

Sony blew Microsoft away pretty handily. At least in my opinion, there was just so many more appealing games at the Sony conference.

Microsoft had some cool hardware reveals, but what good is it if there's very little I want to play on it. So few reasons to own an Xbox One right now, sadly.

I thought the MS conference couldn't be topped.

I was waaaay wrong. Damn.

P.S: I was expecting more Destiny love from Sony. But with the lineup they showed I'm actually glad they didn't give Destiny a slot.

For me, this conference was a perfect 10/10. That amphitheater was gorgeous and classy, the orchestra was superb, and above all the pacing was incredible.

A lot of new IPs were showed and some, more importantly played, this God of War finally made Kratos a likable character, Horizon Zero Dawn demo was truly impressive; showing the destructibility of the environment the ways one can interact with those machines, the crafting system and of course the combat and the dialog wheel! I'm waiting impatiently for this one. Detroit looked good, I hope it doesn't end up been a disappointment. Days Gone at the beginning looked interesting and remind me of The Last of Us (To be honest I actually thought that it was a sequel of some sort) but, when they showed the gameplay I truly got hyped about it, I mean that swarm of zombies (or whatever) easy surpass the thousands which means that more of the times in that game you will running away from them that the other way around.

I really like the VR stuff, and surprisingly that Call of Duty looked truly impressive for me, with the Mass Effect like mission select, the Eve: Valkyrie like dogfighting (PLEASE DON'T BE JUST A CINEMATIC) and of course those gravity grenades, but of course what truly surprise me was the P.T like Resident Evil 7 reveal, and talking about reveals; The moment that Hideo Kojima REVEALS HIMSELF (actually Andrew House introduce him) and shows us a trailer for Death Stranding, my God I cannot even imagine what that game is about. And also, that Spider-Man game looks really interesting.

This was an extremely good conference.

It is slightly concerning that this conference was hyped up as pretty much all WWS is working on by gopher.

I mean, what was shown was good, but there didn't seem to be enough...meat to it all.

I imagine Neo is back to the drawing board because of Scorpio

I think NEO and Scorpio have different approachs to the market.
PS4 NEO is for fans who are willing to play high-end PS4 games.
Every PS4 NEO game is required to playable in PS4. So PS4 NEO is just a PS4 with better graphics.

Scorpio is another example. I think it is a new console generation.

I think the next time we'll see VII is PSX and KH3 Jump Festa (due to KH's heavy presence at Jump Festa every year there's a game coming). Then at E3 next year those two games are SE's big push with KH coming out around September 2017 and VII Part 1 November that year.

Sounds good.

Wait, where the hell is Rise of the Tomb Raider?

I thought some sort of an official announcement, on Sony's part, would be due by now.

Is this still a thing?

I think maybe S-E will probably announce it on their S-E Presents streams, and then it'll probably get a blog post. But with all those games to choose from, I'm not surprised at all they didn't put a year late port in a big E3 conference. They left good stuff out as it is (Gravity Rush 2, etc). Even if it is Tomb Raider.

Good conference. Opening with 5 exclusives games! The Kojima and VR time was good too.

Struggle to see how MS's conference was better. They announced a slim which by all accounts is still bigger than the PS4... whoppie an internal power supply... ok then. Welcome to launch year MS. Good price point though. Can't help but think many will just wait to upgrade when the Scorpio hits.

Anyone thinks that the Neo will up its specs now? Hardware is still to finalised by all accounts? Not many exclusives from MS that were new IPS. plus I love the single player focus from the games Sony showed.

Other than Days gone, that conference was executed wonderfully.

I'd rather they had put in Persona 5, Gravity Rush 2 and/or Bound in place of Days Gone.

Kojima's crazy trailer should have been the finale!

Orchestra was really great and I enjoyed it.

Resident Evil 7 looked amazing and could be an actual good horror game for a change.

CoD at least showed a playable demo unlike Battlefield 1 which showed the same trailer over and over. It looks okay but it's CoD in space and I just don't care.

Detroit: Become Human gets better every time they show it, shame they didn't put a release date/window though. I like that they Emphasized choice throughout the trailer hopefully that doesn't get washed away.

Horizon: Zero Dawn is gorgeous.

Death Stranding is a weird fucking name and was a weird-ass trailer but I appreciate the naked Norman Reedus.

Spiderman looked alright and it's about time we got a good Spiderman game for a change.

Days gone was a little weird I don't know how I feel about it yet. I thought we were moving away from the zombie genre. On the other hand it could also turn out just like The Last of Us did and offer a brilliant zombie-esque game.

Now God of War... What the fuck was that? That combat isn't what God of War is. I don't want slow generic 3rd person combat in a God of War game. I'm not feeling it. Hope to be proven wrong at PGW/PSX with a better gameplay demo.

And finally Crash Bandicoot Trilogy Remaster. Holy fucking shit. As long as it gets a physical release I'm all in.

No Indies too which was a little disappointing. Also it felt really short this year. And most of the VR stuff shown actually looked decent for a change.

So what's the rumour on Red Dead? Did someone say it was supposed to be there but pulled at the last minute?

Edit: never mind, just found it

Don't know if this has been posted, but apparently one guy on Reddit, who had a pretty good record of leaking info, said Red Dead was supposed to be shown at the end of Sony's show today but it involved a scene where a character shot up a bunch of innocent people. Since the Orlando tragedy is still very fresh, it appears they filled that spot with Days Gone instead. Might explain how the show just kinda ended quietly.

I did wonder why they effectively showed Days Gone twice.

Am I the only one that thought RE7 was massively underwhelming?!?! Am I crazy here? It looked like a last gen title....maybe worse than that.

Very well paced enjoyable show, it's just, like others had said, not much interesting for me.

I like more of the arty and comic stuff, like Journey, Rime, No Mans Sky, etc. This conference didn't have much of this..

jeuxvideo.com readers voted for Sony's conference as the best

It would kind of explain why it looked just a tad rough for a full demo as well. Bend had balls to pull it out on short notice, though.

Big shame about Red Dead if true.

No indies was a bummer
Same for no Destiny.

Overall, not anything for me except for Horizon and Last Guardian maybe. Not a great conference.

The pacing of the show was what impressed me more than the actual games. It actually reminded me a little of a Nintendo Direct, but with absolutely no fluff.

Not everything was for me, but Horizon and Spiderman look excellent, and the ending montage contained many games I'm interested in.

Having Kojima come out and show a teaser for his game was great for a "wow" moment but honestly I think it would have been better to leave that out.

That game probably doesn't really exist yet and is 3 or 4 years from releasing. Why show it now?

Amazing show. 9,5/10*. But that presentation of CoD. I was like " Wow, what is this? Colony Wars? Yeah. Oh, wait there's fps...hmn... Maybe some kind of "Star Citizen"-esque game? Damn, it's so fucking good. No matter what it is - Day 1. WHAT???? IT'S FUCKING COD??? WOW. SHIT! AMAZING! Unexpected!"

So many great games. I'm hyped for almost every single one.

If it wasn't for Crash letdown it would be 10/10

Capitalizing on the waning #FucKonami sentiments and Kojima's semi-recent departure. Eventually, the world at large stops wondering.

As much as I felt Sonys conference was far better because of the far better looking games on show I probably see NS getting more headlines and talking points from the media due to the new hardware, cross play news and the controller initiative.

While there was some big games shown at Sonys, I don't think they'd have stole the show from a media point of view beyond the announcement of Kojimas game.

Sony's felt like it started with a strong momentum then kind of tapered off and just came to an abrupt end. Days Gone looked great in concept but the gunplay looked fairly early. Then to finish on a list of the major games pretty much all with no dates just felt like typical Sony where they show a bunch of stuff that's years off.

I really enjoyed the conference. As someone in the UK who stayed up until 2am (seriously, why do they get later every year?) I was pleased that (by Sony standards) the show was short, but straight to the point.

For me, I loved the new God of War semi-reboot. Classic GoW has been done to death so this looked like a breath of fresh air to me. Horizon is also shaping up nicely and I'm so glad that it looks like we could be getting a great Spidey game.

Negatives? Days Gone felt uninspired (although I did like the sheer volume of zombies) and I'm one of those confused people who remembers Crash Bandicoot the first time around and can't understand why everyone is losing their shit over it.

Resident Evil VII VR looked really promising to me - that's the kind of software that will tempt me to VR. Not sure about the adverts for various 'experiences' after though. Got the demo downloading now, hoping it's PT tier.
