I wonder if Capcom will ever give us any concrete information or clues.

I remember seeing (earlier in this thread, I believe) that they would drop hints, but not immediately. I wonder what is going on.

Maybe tape 2 is waiting for whomever actually completes this thing.

The moving finger is an interesting idea, but I won't believe it until I see it myself. Going to try it right now.

You're right... Maybe the axe is more important than the original source led to believe!
There's still the comment made by Capcom Germany about the axe being needed in a "certain situation."

i can confirm that the finger does move, not 100% consistently but it does move. It seems to jerk down slightly, then go top right. I've tried using motion controls with the motion and the touch pad, no dice.

Another hint.

There are 3 dolls hanging by the stomach.
3 mannequins that can't be killed

2 dolls hanging from their head
there are 2 mannequins that appear

2 dolls hanging from their leg
1 mannequin in sight that can get destroyed.

Can you test in different locations to see if the movements are consistent?

I've spent a good ten hours playing the demo and have tried everything, but there's ONE thing that baffles me that I haven't heard anyone mention - why does the mannequin on the top floor respawn after I destroy it (and the rest don't)? Maybe this is the clue to discovering something new...

The one in the hallway respawns too

Im getting to the point where this isn't cool/interesting anymore and is just unrealistically convoluted to draw out players because there is so little to it.

Same, but it seems to move all over the house for me. Not just that one place.

I'm pretty sure it's nothing.

So have Capcom people said specifically that the game is survivable, or just that it's beatable? The endings we can get are technically completing the game.

right nothing but the finger obtained nothing open or looked at other than the finger... i see it twitch once but thats it.

its a great idea but needs more ppl testing it at different stages and locations.

I started at the bottom of the stairs, then followed the finger up to the attic. Seems to point to me at the upper right of the barricaded door in the attic.

I don't actually have a way to play the demo, but this is fun :D
Did someone think about the state of the game in the following way? I'll do an example, maybe it is clearer.

If we start in the "present", then everything has already been affected by the events in the tape. If we examine the drawer with the axe in the present and it says that it is locked, than it is obvious that it hasn't been picked in the tape. On the contrary, if we do not examine it in the present, than it is possible that in the tape it's been picked, so when we actually pick it in the tape, we will find it picked when we return to the present. Perhaps it is possible to alter the events following this reasoning?

I did not follow all the streams and the evolution of the experimentations thus perhaps this has already been discussed.

Okay guys, I think there might be something to the finger moving.

The past 20 minutes or so I was trying to hold the finger up to a light and rotate it, and I could have sworn on one or two occasions it moved slightly without me touching anything.

I started at the bottom of the stairs, then followed the finger up to the attic. Seems to point to me at the upper right of the barricaded door in the attic.

YES! I was holding the finger up towards the light next to that barricaded door in the attic, that's when it moved for me.

Personally I saw the finger jitter a little bit while examining it upstairs. Barely noticeable and seemed random. Thought it the result of less than perfect programming (I was only holding the controller but not actually pressing buttons nor moving the joysticks), so didn't think it worth mentioning.

Might as well mention that I play with headphones.

So the trick is that you have to get the finger pointing in the general direction it wants to autocorrect to. Once it is close enough it'll move.

I'm at the point where I manage all the items in the inventory so it shape a pattern like an umbrella logo... This demo is going to make me crazy.

Maybe the touchpad of the DS4 and the finger are linked together...

so just to clarify my findings on 3 items . fingers moves fuse doesnt and bolt cutters do. my DS4 is on the floor away from me

dnt think this is anything .. but it really was a great idea.

Capcom needs to cut the fat and tell us whats a glitch and whats not so everyone can stop wasting time. It's fine for us to fiddle with intended stuff, but glitches are not intended.

Maybe you have to use the bolt cutter whereever the finger is pointing. Speaking of which, are there other chains in this demo other than the ones where the tape is?
