To be fair, in that Tim Turi interview he won't comment on secrets we missed.

Dream alive?

This ride never ends.

Yes, "I'm zipped up" means he can't talk about it. Nobody at Capcom wants us to figure it out. The longer it goes with us trying wacky stuff, the more buzz it generates, which is exactly what they want. Its great attention for the upcoming release. I refuse to believe that Capcom would just let us keep obsessing over it without telling us that we'd found all there is to see. When you have this much buzz going, you don't risk a vicious backlash by leading people along when you've got no carrot to reward them with for their efforts.

We keep on.

With this demo and P.T. Is there a niche for a new genre? The 4th wall puzzle arg social experiment mystery or something?

Indie dev's should jump in, you could make a fortune on the streaming alone.

Kudos to the people spending time on this and maybe finding something. I am of the "Alright, that's RE7 demo I guess" camp after finishing it and never returning to it again.

These are escape the room games, plenty of them online. We just need triple AAA escape the room/house/insert random location games.

So it seems Capcom France confirmed that there a just the 4 endings in the demo. I've found this pic on the German resident evil Facebook page
Check my latest tweet. That's the chat pic with Capcom. Don't know if it's fake though

Sorry can't put the pic here right now.

Yeah I'm retired. I'll go back in when someone makes some sort of progress or cheats or Capcom steps up to offer some real words of encouragement along the lines of "you've definitely missed something." If this is supposed to be a long-term slice of viral publicity, then I don't think there's enough meat on this bone.

First time round people were persistent because it was a clearly high-production novelty before the secret was (quickly) out.

This time people are persistent because it's RE.

Dunno if a no-name indie copy could replicate that.

I personally won't 100% believe that we've found everything until we get a confirmation from a developer or something like a tweet from an official Capcom/Resident Evil account that is public for everyone to see.

That said, I think I'm done wracking my brain for answers and theories. I'd like to test a couple more things regarding tape segment glitches, but I don't expect any real results.

Unfortunately, I think Capcom will keep quiet at this point whether we've found everything or not. If there is nothing else to the demo, they've waited too long to admit it without suffering from some form of backlash.

Had this crazy idea on the way home. Has anyone tried aligning the finger with a mannequin while observing it like the riddler puzzles in batman?

Best outcome: the mannequin would gain life and attack you (with a giant finger), that's where the axe would prove useful.

Don't give them ideas...I don't think I could stomach another one like this... For RE and Silent Hill, some of my most favorite series in video games, yeah but anything else...Ugh...

Nah, they could make more but I wouldn't intend on playing them heh.

Well why did we spend days looking for something that not there.

I told you guys over and over, there is a high chance it's just a simple demo to play. This has been a mess how people socially create things in their brain and follow it.

This is exactly how advertising works in general form though. There is not anything for the finger to do, the axe is just there to play with an this demo was never that good for what is actually there.

This is exactly why I didn't waste my time with it but playing hardlines may have been worse lol

I dont know why you guys expected this anyways, capcom is not kojima and his fun crazyness.

Since it seems like the dream could be alive I have a super crazy thing for anyone that wants to try:

- Move all the breakable boxes into the secret room
- Carefully push them down the hole so the stack
- Pray to God they pile high enough to jump on
- Break the boxes under you and fall down the hole

There's a lot of "what ifs" in this idea, but fuck it I'm out of ideas at this point.

No, listen - i'm still in camp 'still more here'. I firmly believe there is. The Tim Turi interview with GI btw reinforces the idea that not only is everything in the demo self-contained to the demo, but even likened this to Ground Zeroes. So, we have items & places in a demo that we aren't supposed to ever find an answer to how they're supposed to be used?

Don't get me wrong - I totally buy the idea that the axe is meant to be a preview of combat. I'm okay with this. But that fucking finger is used for something.

Listen you

I have enough for probably a few gallons at least
But will you share? Hmmm...

They dissapear as soon as you get them to the tv room. :(

All I can think of (besides my German theory) now is to just run around the house yelling Pete into a microphone after watching the VHS.

I kinda think the opposite. If I had to I would guess the axe has a use and finger doesn't, purely because it was harder to find the axe. I think they will both have some use though.

Eh, I think the fact that they are staying so tight-lipped adds more credence to the idea that there isn't anything else left in this demo.

For instance, if there was something else to find and they wanted the demo to keep generating buzz, a simple "There's a true ending that no one has found yet" statement would keep people searching for the answer.

By being intentionally coy and not confirming or denying anything, that gives them some wiggle room. People will keep looking and they technically aren't lying or promising anything that isn't there.

When buzz inevitably dies down, Capcom can always update the demo to unlock a door or give some purpose to the finger, and then say that was the plan all along.

In short, if there was more to the demo than what we've found, it would be in Capcom's best interest to keep people interested in searching. By basically saying "our lips are sealed", that tells me there's probably nothing left and they don't want to outright say it.

But you can actually use the axe to break some boxes and certain mannequins. The finger does nothing.

Holy shit this thread. I just got around to playing the demo myself (late, I know), and recalled this thread. Never would've thought it had over 100 pages though. I'm thoroughly impressed by you all for all this effort!

Never stop believing.
Never stop dreaming.

I'm sure this was already asked, but:

When you put the key into the backdoor, can you walk away from the door and leave the key in? (without being Family'd)

I feel like this would be the most direct interpretation of "saying goodbye, but not being ready".

Interesting idea, and you can.

I only ask that when this thread gets inevitably locked, the title is also changed to "Resident Evil 7 Demo: No, there wasn't."
