Any luck yet? came here with this issue, tbh if it does go out in waves im kinda hoping you haven't gotten it yet so i know i didn't miss the most recent wave of updates (ive read that thats how it works but im not 100% sure)

the last update was on the 12.. maybe you have to wait for the next update

There hasn't been a build since last weekend...very unusual for a preview period. Hopefully the next one will come with significant UX improvements with Cortana and the Store.

Does anyone know if there's been any issues with game sharing with this new build? I know there's been issues with the store and if you buy games on a new preview build console they wont work on a non preview one but games that were being shared with me all disappeared cant redownload them even though my console is still set to home on theirs. They're not in the preview program so any known issues with this scenario anyone knows about? I havent been able to find any info on it anywhere.

I thought they said there would be 2 builds a week.
I'm guessing they are going easy for E3 week.

Would you folks agree that this is the roughest build we've seen in the preview program? I'm not complaining; I signed up for this. I'm just usually pleasantly surprised by the stability of the preview builds

it's been pretty stable for me. Cortana is just an idiot at times.

The text isn't a bunch of symbols so it has that on some of the other preview updates I've been in.

I guess I'm just particularly peeved because I was a frequent user of the voice commands, and they've worked maybe 20% of the time since the update. I often see the "Warming Up" or perpetual "Listening" or "Cortana took too long to start", so it gives a rougher impression.

Nope. My XB1 was basically unusable during the first week of the NXOE preview

The store seems improved today. It doesn't feel nearly as unfinished. It still has a long way to go as far as polish and categories, but it's better. I imagine most of the store updates happen server side?

the one thing i like about her is that she actually hears me over my T.V.

Some patch has ruined her ability to go to netflix she always searches the store.

Are the EA Access games supposed to still be showing up in my Ready to Install list? I thought they only appeared there for preview members because EA Access wasn't working correctly in preview. Also, I thought EA Access was only free during E3, which is over now.

Nah, some of the early NXOE builds were brutal.

When theyre planning to release it to the public?
I was in preview program before, but once NXOE released things were really messy, so after some issues I signed out.

Windows Redstone target date is late July, so that's a fair assumption that's the earliest it'll hit public release.

I bought a physical copy of GTA V earlier today and I noticed that my disc drive isn't making any noise while installing, plus it's showing me a download speed for the install. This leads me to believe that it's downloading from XBL rather than installing from the disc. If that's the case, could it possibly have something to do with this preview update?

The download speed is "new" in the summer update.
I don't have any physical disc so not sure if it downloads the whole game or just a patch.

Try offline mode from network settings and see if it installs from disc once finished go online and DL patches

EDIT
The install is at 65% right now, but I may as well try that, especially if it is downloading the whole damn game.

I mean if it's 65% then might as well wait? It's a huge game and they released around 20gb of updates

The thing is when you are online and install a physical copy it downloads the updates at the same time, that's why it takes so long to insttall games on x1

Only reason i suggested to go offlinee and install was because i thought you probably just started installing the game.

I no longer wish to take these kinds of risks, which is why I've decided to not take these preview, preview builds.

It doesn't download the full game. It installs it AND downloads the recent patch.

I know that, but then why would it show a download speed for a disc install? It said there was a 9GB update and the install was already at 30GB, so the update would have already been downloaded at that point, right?

I went ahead and intalled the game offline. I actually heard the disc drive working this time, plus it installed a LOT faster. Maybe the preview update forced the game to download from XBL, after all?

Cortana Kinect voice controls need a real fix, she's so slow.
This is by far the worst issue with the update... the voice commands in general got much worse. If I yell "Hey Cortana, volume down" it not only takes dozens of seconds to complete my task but three devices (X1, SP2 and L950XL) are starting to listen and try to fullfill my command.

And I did not managed to turn on my console (in german) with the new voice commands - Cortana starts to listen (Kinect powers on) but the console will not start.

No, I can remember a build form 2014 where the console was unusable and you was forced to use a USB thumb drive to restore it.

Yep, only issue I've noticed with the new build. We, and importantly my wife!, used voice commands a lot and now they just seem broken.

We also get warming up a lot, and then listening except nothing registers...and often she goes off to the internet rather than staying within Xbox.

The state of Cortana is really frustrating, sometimes it feels like she's getting there, then she wouldn't even hear me at all. It seems to be an everything or nothing situation, after a cold reboot she would send me to a web search no matter how many times I tried variations of "go to plex".
I think they should add a button "no that's not what I wanted" in the Cortana snap (at least for the preview, but I guess it wouldn't hurt in general if she is indeed based on reinforcement training). Also make her shut up when she realizes she's not working properly. Having to hear "sorry I couldn't understand" doesn't really help.

HOW TO GET IT

• If your console is in Instant-On mode, it will download and install the update and reboot to standby.

• NOTE: Once the update is available, you can manually begin the update by navigating to Settings > System and selecting System Update.

• If your console hasn’t downloaded and installed the update by 1:00AM PDT 6/22/2016, you will be prompted to do so at that time.

DETAILS

OS version released: rs1_xbox_rel_1606.160616-1800
Available: 6:00PM PDT 6/20 (1:00AM GMT 21/6)

Thanks for helping us test the latest Xbox One update! We’re eager to show off the new features and experiences we’ve been working on. We’ve noted below a few important things be aware of before you jump in.

• Certain content (games, apps, DLC) purchased in the new Store may only be available on consoles enrolled in the latest Preview update. This means…
• Games purchased on a console running the latest Preview update can only be played on that console or other consoles running the latest Preview update.
• Games purchased via Xbox.com can be played on any console.
• Games purchased on a console running the previous update can be played on any console.

• Certain parental control features aren’t functioning appropriately in the current build. As a result, we encourage users to exercise caution when letting children access a console that is using the latest Xbox One update until these issues are resolved.

• We’ve added several settings that are already found on Windows today. These include SmartScreen Filter, which sends URLs you visit in apps to Microsoft to check against a list of potentially harmful sites, and advertising ID, which helps Microsoft present you with more personalized ads in Universal Windows Apps. You can choose to turn these off and manage your preferences for how Xbox One uses your information in Settings.

NEW FEATURES

• Language Independence
Based on overwhelming fan feedback, we’ve enabled Language Independence to give you even more choices over your Xbox experience and how you engage with your Xbox One. Language Independence gives you the freedom to choose any supported language on Xbox One, regardless of your location.

Please try out this capability and give us your feedback. If you encounter any issues, change your language and location settings back to their previous values to see if the issue still exists. We look forward to your feedback.

• Game Pre-orders
When purchasing a game pre-order, funds may no longer be deducted from your account immediately (depending on when the game pre-order is purchased). Pre-order funds will now be deducted from your account 10 days or less prior to the game’s release date.

So does this mean you could no longer pin an item you pre ordered from the game store?

No, it sounds like you can't pin a specific episode or DLC from a game but I guess we'll see.

It says that if you have an update for a particular game, the pins and the content pins disappear.
But you can re-pin them and it won't happen again for that title

You have Bethesda to thank for that. The german versions of their games didn't include an english language option until very recently (Doom was the first one that did I think). So the console tries to access the english version of the game, can't find it and instead defaults to the french language option, which is included. Every 360 Bethesda game does that as far as I know.

It's a bummer since Dishonored's german voice cast is especially terrible.

I'm annoyed by the bug where games and app updates won't install. Or sometimes full games like when I got the crew this weekend I had 5 games updating and nothing was downloaded. They all had partially installed and just stopped. Hitting install now did anything, so I had to cancel or uninstall games. Sometimes stopping the updating or download of something will start the others. But, it's annoying if you have a lot of games installed like I do that have updates...

Seems we have longer to wait for Cortana to be as fast as "Xbox"... *sigh*

Well, I'll wait patiently, I know when she's just as fast as that she'll be good.

cortana is hit or miss for me. it can either be insanely responsive or i'm stuck with that stupid ass thinking noise until i manually open it. the real problem is the downloading/installing games issue. so fucking bad. i'm afraid of even downloading the GwG titles this month because of how long it took me to download shit recently. BF Hardline took damn near a week and towards the end of the first install, while at 89%, the game told me it installed 0% so I had to download it all over again. My Rocket League update is stuck at 80% and I had 15 notifications for it when I turned on my xbox.

I get it comes with signing up for beta software but it's still a fucking pain and something that needs to be on the priority list. I wrote one complaint and that's all i'll write because it's so prevalent that it needs to be at the top of the fixes for the next update. I can deal with a buffering/non-responsive cortana.

If you get the download bug, a system restart should fix it and the updates will continue to install. Its fixed it for me every time and continues to download where it left off.

I noticed you can now tell Cortana how many steps you wanna change your volume, instead of being stuck changing volume with your preset value.

Just add a number after the regular voice command.

For example: "Hey Cortana, volume up seven" or "Hey Cortana, volume down twelve"
