Played some Darius Gaiden last night. PSP-3000 Component Out to consumer Samsung 29 inch SDTV from 2004. Looks good enough, but can´t seem to get colors 100% to my liking even using the service mode. Camera doesn´t help either.
Looks nice on that Samsung! I should bust out my psp and see how it looks on a CRT, I tried it on flatscreen monitor once and the scaling was ass.
What? Native PSP games do 480p, in fact I think they can only display 480p while 480i is for PS1 and video programs and such.PS1 games via PSP TV out on a 3000 unit looks pretty damn good, specially using component. It gives you a full-screen 240p picture. Native PSP games aren´t as nice as it just displays an interlaced 480i and very small picture. PSPGo is actually a great option too, as you can sync a Dual Shock 3 controller and leave the handheld by the TV and play on your couch or whatever. The only drawback is that there´s some input lag for PS1 games, but its great for casual play.

I'm sure you can.You are correct, when played on an HDTV through component, native PSP games do display in 480p, albeit with borders; some HDTVs don´t like being fed 240p content through component, which is why it displays in 480i in HD sets, I´m not really sure if you can play PS1 games on 480p with TV out.
But that changes when using the TV out function on a SDTV, PS1 games are display in nice crisp 240p fullscreen image, and PSP native games run in 480i as SDTVs don´t really support 480p/31 khz modes.
I'm sure you can.

Good stuff. Played some Castlevania Chronicle / X68000 on PS1 last night, love that game.
Street Fighter Zero 3, Sega Saturn, JVC DT-V1710CGU monitor. Just playing with depth of field using a security camera lens on my camera. Can get crazy effects but not great focus anywhere.
Ultimate Ghosts n Goblins, PSP Out to 480p CRT
Do you get full screen with your psp games?
I need to know more about your setup, I've been dying to play PSP games on a TV at decent quality. Your shots look great (and you picked the best game on the system to show!), is output being scaled to full screen?
PSP games are 480x272 so it puts that inside a 720x480 output with thick black bars on all four sides.
My setup is a PSP Slim, third-party Component cables, JVC DT-V1710CG HD CRT monitor.
Wish I could get better pics.
Posted a couple of Wild Guns shots on instagram in anticipation of the PS4 game.
Difficult to get good shots in this game. Pausing the game dims the image so the first pic has a longer exposure and some post-processing using built-in IG tools to make it look right. I think the 2nd pic is straight off the camera with a 1/60th shutter speed shot from the attract mode loop.
Looks great to me.
Played some Rondo of Blood tonight.
yay, mega drive time
This Robocop shot is awesome.
Nice to see this thread doing the rounds again, I have been trying to extract animated gifs from my PVM but syncing the camera to the refresh has been a ballache. my best result so far:
