I caved and bought the game yesterday. So far, I'm really glad I did cause it's really got me hooked. Just played it for 13 hours straight. It's definitely got some jankiness to it and the voice acting does have its weak moments (though, a lot of the time, I actually find those kind of endearing/charming) but the world and characters are really interesting.
I did encounter a bug with one of the sidequests, though. There was that one in Ophir's slums where a merchant asks you to escort you and you have to wait for several hours, then go back to him and try to trigger the dialogue with him the very second the countdown is over. However, I saved shortly beforehand and tried it a couple of times and, no matter how I timed it, the mission always failed when I tried to start the dialogue even if the merchant had already started thanking me for showing up.
I also had to set the difficulty to easy pretty soon after starting the game because normal was just too hard for me LOL. I actually think easy is a bit too easy, though, I'd prefer a difficulty setting that's between easy and normal. The back-and-forth tracking can also get a bit tedious at times so I can definitely understand some people wishing for a fast travel feature. Still, though, all in all I'm really enjoying the game so far. It almost feels like a mix of the Mass Effect games (mostly because of the sci-fi setting, though, of course, it is different to Mass Effect's setting, what with it all taking place on one planet, etc.) and Dragon Age: Inquisition (the gameplay feels a bit similar, though there's less filler content and most of the side-quests in general have so far felt more interesting and narrative-driven). If that sounds like something you'd enjoy or if you're a fan of deep, interesting worlds and interactive narratives (and don't mind games that don't have AAA budgets), I definitely recommend it.
EDIT: While the game's character creator isn't that complex, I think it could still be fun to post screens of our different Zachs. Here's mine:
