my moto G doesn't activate it either, it's definitely the phone model, but it's fine, a lot of pokemons appear every time i go walking to my job and it would definitely drain my battery

Actually, you've just listed the Pokemon that constantly appear around my place. Them and Oddishes. And I didn't evolve the Nidoqueen, just caught her as is and powered her up.
Serbia. I've only run into two other players so far, but they were both quite far away from my house.
I was staring at my nearby pokemon at home, and saw it 'refresh' and suddenly a Koffing spawned within 3 distance. I threw my shoes on, ran out, and after a few wrong turns managed to pinpoint where he was. At <1 distance left, he vanished.
Seriously, less than 15 minutes. I saw it spawn and still couldn't get it in time, some real BS.
On the bright side, I caught an Eevee with /235/ CP!

Is this game having server issues? I load up the app and there's nothing around me. When I hit nearby there's nothing, and I refuse to believe there's no landmarks in my country's capital.

Same thing happened to me but with Arbok, one suddenly appeared and ad no problem capturing it, a lot of Ekans have appeared where I live.
There's a church next to where I work and i's a Gym, gotta fight it soon
Also, from the terrace of my home I can reach a poke spot, free pokeballs every hours is cool
(I check it every hour, dunno how long it takes to refresh, but sometimes it says "check again later")
This is where I sit from 9 to 20,pokemon come to me all day long, with lures on both pokestops that I got from level ups, together with lucky eggs it is real easy to get leveled up fast, and I have to Chuck out poke balls all the time, have been playing non stop today lol, and also incense thrown in for good measure
Could just be in a city with a lot of pokestops. I have a TON of pokeballs but hardly any pokemon just because my route home from work goes by 20 pokestops.

Finally decided to sideload the APK (Niantic pls Canada) and tried to create a Pokemon Trainer Club account. Site is so dead. Had to try three times just to submit the registration to get a confirmation email. Now it won't let me sign in on either the app or the website. I can't even request a password reset because it tells me I just asked for one (I didn't). Is there a secret maximum length for the password or something? Why is this system so awful?
EDIT: Apparently the Pokemon Trainer Club is just dying in weird ways due to the traffic. Well, that's nice. Guess I can't play this for a week, then.

The servers constantly dying are really annoying. Especially when they seemingly only happen when I'm doing something important like my first gym battle.

I dunno about anyone else but I've seen some really weird silhouettes of Pokemon nearby. There's the usual Caterpie, Weedle, Rattatta etc and then there's like Krabby, Seel, Onix, Clefairy and Tauros.

Nope. I was using the apk and had no problems. It was all baseless fearmongering.
Although I did eventually get rid of it and download the Google Play version when it officially came out.

Annoyingly, there's a statue at the side of a fast road here, that has nowhere to stop or even park nearby and walk to. And that's an Ingress point. For some reason, that's been allocated as a gym. I couldn't even get a Pokemon allocated to it in time, so beating one there would be impossible. (Unless someone did indeed walk along the road to it, or just stop which would be.. well maybe doable at 3am)

I just think they were server issues and people needed to force close the app and load it back up again.
Im in London and havent had any issues that a quick force close didnt fix.

Gyms seem to spawn pokemon like pokestop, just reclick on the gym every 5mins.

Well that's good/sucks depending on your perspective.

Along with them there were quite a few that showed up nearby that I couldn't find. Slowpoke (I think it was on the other side of a lake since it only showed up when I was right on the shore), Caterpie, Metapod, Beedrill, and Bellsprout.
My first impressions are very positive. The game had me going around and searching areas of my neighborhood that I have never been before (like exploring a trailer park to find that Paras). I definitely want to catch them all.

No, you do have to hunt for the Pokemon though. See that white icon in the lower right that shows some Pokemon? Click on it and it will tell you what Pokemon are nearby (you can tell how close they are based on the amount of footprint icons beside them) and then start hunting! It took me about 20 minutes to figure out where the Eevee that I caught was hiding.

Incense brings the Pokemon to you, you didn't waste it.

How the heck do you guys have so powerful pokemon already? Is there some trick to getting Stardust/candy that I don't know about? I can only get some when I catch things I feel.

No you should still get pokemon coming to you while its in effect, i used one of mine at work and i would get a pokemon come up every now and then right next to me.
You get stardust whenever you catch something and you get 3 pieces of candy whenever you catch a Pokemon of a certain family (Pidgey, Pidgeott, and Pidgeot all give Pidgey candy). You can then trade any dupes you get for an extra piece of that families candy.
Do you have the grey pokeball spinning on the top left? If so, that means your area is locked like Japan right now. Wait until the game releases in your region.
