For everyone asking about raising CP or evolving right away

Here's my experiences so far testing this

I raised zubat to max CP and evolved one right away, I was trainer lv9

Both ended up with same max CP

Tried again as Lv10 with a new zubat, The max CP ended up higher (with a new zubat after I leveled up)

So from what I can see, your max CP of pokemon goes higher as you level up as trainer

I can be wrong but this should be accurate. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Another thing I noticed, new items get unlocked in pokestops as you level up, I started seeing berries around lv8-9 and super potions were unlocked at lv10

game is fun

Blue Team is the best. Join or suffer crippling despair as your horizon is dotted by Blue Gyms.

Honestly it'll probably be like that when Mewtwo launches into the wild. They'll probably release it at popular landmarks around the world like Times Square, Sydney Harbour Bridge, Building 109, etc

I regret signing up with my Trainer Club account. Haven't been able to log in for 14 hours but gmail is fine.

I would switch over, but I have so much progress.

So apparently when you load up the game to catch Pokemon for the first time it was supposed to show you the starter Pokemon to catch. I never got that and now it's been a day. Did I miss my chance?

I feel your pain. Btw I'm reading all over the internet that signing up with a Trainer Club account has benefits, like codes for rare pokemon. I could never find a source though. Any idea if this is true? I'm thinking people might have confused it with the codes for legendaries that they have been sending out for use in ORAS but if we have confirmation that they'll also send codes for Pokemon Go that would be cool.

I didn't understand how Gyms really worked. So it's best to attack different color gyms? If you do your same color you just add to the level of that gym? I take it the bonus for taking a gym from a another faction is bigger then just becoming #1 at a gym already for your faction?

I'm starting to feel like this really is Nintendo's QoL. I usually go for walks in the morning to grab a coffee or just for some general exercise but I am seeing myself and many of my friends simply go for walks just to catch Pokemon. Hell some of my lazier friends are taking walks at 10pm to go hang out at their nearest park's PokeStop and bumping into other randoms as well.

There's bound to be something in the future but nothing announced as far as I know.

The fact the Trainer Club is down and has been for 16 hours now with no notice about it is ridiculous. TPCi has dropped the ball. I can't even log into the Global Link

Yes with regard to your personal bonus, and if you want to take over, but attacking your own color's gyms will raise its prestige and each prestige level allows for the gym to house another pokemon. If you push it over and free up a slot, you can contribute that Pokemon. Someone attacking it will have to go through all of them to actually claim the gym.

Wow ok so that girl took out three of us at the team mystic gym. She is by herself now with a 160 defending? Lol seems weird and I can easily take her when I go by the park in the morning.

Welp, all the gyms around me are red. It's Ingress all over again. I'll do what I can Team Mystic.

There's a pretty low level gym right by me. May try to demolish it tomorrow.

Yeah. If she went with some other yellow peeps, they could set up a more stable team there I guess. Not sure how quickly you can level a gym if you have a few people you can actually talk to about it.

But yeah go take that back lol

Placing a pokemon in a allied gym allows everyone involved to get the daily bonus. There isn't any extra bonus from taking over an enemy gym besides exp that you can also get from friendly sparring with a pokemon of an allied gym as well. I think they'll add some region by region/ country by country statistics of what team controls more than the other, etc, later on with rewards hopefully.

Following my friend around the neighborhood in our cars as he yelled out "gota go back there is a vulpix back that way" while running into other strangers playing Pokemon might be my favorite gaming moment ever.

I prob ran into 15 other people today and talked to a bunch of them. Like WTF.

I'm a little sad that there's significantly fewer points of interest in this compared to Ingress. My usual daily commute had several places to hack/leech in Ingress, but in this there's only two Pokestops pretty far apart. All the gyms are SE of me.

Is there a way to submit locations?

Tempted to just say fuck it and start again with a Google login. Yeah, I'll lose a fair bit of progress, but with not a single word said about how long we can expect it to be down for PTC users, it's possible I could get all that progress back before it comes back up.

I'm impressed with some of the POI my workplace has a small water feature that is only for my business, like nobody but the 350 people at my workplace even know it's there yet it's a poi pokestop.

I imagine a more main line Pokemon title will end up on mobile one day. One with a story and the classic battle system, and whatever free to play elements.

Nintendo would probably have their hand more in that one.

I would but I don't want to lose that progress.

This whole thing is ridiculous. They have handled it badly and have had little notification to users of the issues. It has been terribly handled.

Let's give it more than a day. There's a difference between sharp launch and proper retention.

I also imagine them being pissed because this is damaging the Pokémon name with its huge amount of server issues.

Why can't they put a mainline free to play on both mobile and their handheld? They did that with that Pokemon match three game.

Here's hoping it sees continued support. This is the most fun I've had with pokemon since I was a kid.

Riding my bike around in the middle of the night to restock my balls and catch me a venomoth, this game is amazingly ridiculous.

I like going against the grain also. That and growing up two gangs in my area wore Red or Blue depending on the gang. So I'm going yella reguardless of what people around me are doing.

I'm worried that there is a benefit playing this threw Trainer Club vs Google. I originally signed up threw trainer club yesterday but couldn't get in today at all so I signed up threw Google with the same nickname I signed up with PTC. We'll see I guess.
