It's not that simple. If you go for the common 399 price point you can only release a console with so many TFlops. End of this year it is the ~4 TFlops which Neo is rumored. End of Next year it will be 6 TFlops as Scorpio is supposed to have.

I don't think AMD capable to make a 6TF APU this year. Neo is the best we can get.
Well the leaked document says that Sony starting from October all games need to support NEO. What is even more revealing in my opinion is the fact that the document also says that games released in late September should release day one patches to add NEO support. If NEO isn't being released in October why would that be?

they will probably only manufacture 1.5 to 2 million psvr for the holiday season which should most likely lead to sellouts so it is not stupid to have alternatives for consumers to buy in anticipation.

First they made sure PSVR was sold out in pre-orders then they will announce Neo in September with the same release date....
If it is $399 I'm more than happy with the leaked specs. I just figured they would go higher since it's a "premium" console.

The Amazon Spain also specs product weight at 2kg which would be more than half than what is specified for the regular PS4 today (4,6 kg via Amazon DE).

a $100 premium sounds fair to me since the standard model will drop to $299.
a premium version of a console should not be a night and day difference. it is not ps5. scorpio is xbox 2 no matter how MS slices it.

No. It costs as much as the OG PS4 that launched 3 years ago. So it makes perfect sense.
OG PS4 / Slim PS4 = $299
PS4 Neo = $399

Neo is just an upgraded version of a console already released 3 years ago (after all they play the same games). I think they nailed the correct price.
A $1500 PS4 with gtx 1080 would be high end.
What we will get is a overclocked jaguar cpu with RX 480 power. Profitable at $400.
