Konami Rep Says 'I Hope We Earn You Back'

he did say that when one of the company’s franchises isn’t seen for awhile, it doesn’t mean that the series is dead; rather, it means that Konami is “reviewing the IP” and trying to “find a good fit.”

So that's why we haven't got a mainline Suikoden game for over 10 years now.

I always forget what amazing ips they own. I'd like a new suikoden, castlevania, and bomberman.

Too bad they done fked it all up by doing nothing with their ips other than turning them into pachinko machines.

...I highly doubt that Goemon is going to make a surprise return anytime soon, but I digress.

Anyway, I'd be much more willing to hear what Konami is trying to say, if they at least do something with poor Bomberman. The 3DS game got killed before it could see the light of day, and it just has been so empty in general without new games on current gen hardware.

No, Konami.

No.

You could release MGS3 SNAKE EATER Remastered and I still will never, ever forgive you.

You ruined MGSV and killed Silent Hills and that is, wholly, unacceptable... and that's before we even get to the rest of your transgressions.

Give Kojima the rights to Zone of the Enders and then we might be able to sit in the same room before you have to do more stuff to get me to talk to you.

Speaking of past Konami transgressions, one of its most controversial decisions last year was the cancellation of Silent Hills. While Ben didn’t outright state that Konami is working on a new Silent Hill game, he did say that when one of the company’s franchises isn’t seen for awhile, it doesn’t mean that the series is dead; rather, it means that Konami is “reviewing the IP” and trying to “find a good fit.”

Looking forward to Silent Hill Book of Memories 2: iOS edition.

Go fuck yourself Konami. With a rusty plank of wood.

Give a Del Too and Kojima if he wants to return an unlimited budget for the revival of Silent Hills, allow bluepoint to port Silent Hill 2-3 properly, an Ultimate mgs collection complete with Policenauts HD hire Platinum to make Zone of the Enders 3 with a story written by Kojima, and maybe we'll talk things out.
Okay, this is a good starting point. Also, put Sympony of the Night along with the others in the series in a "Mega Man Legacy" type bundle and I'll consider maybe supporting you all again.

Castlevania has been beaten into the ground, and the series moves last gen...well I'm not going back for sure.

Metal Gear V let me down more than any other release last year, despite being a really fun game to play. After a certain point, I just got fed up. Finished it, then realized that the story really left on the worst kind of cliff hanger...major disappointment in addition to all the Kojima stuff.

Silent Hill. This is one of my favorite franchises ever. They have been piling shit on this franchise for a long time. The 360/PS3 gen was rough. The remakes were rough. Then PT/Silent Hills seems like it might just blow me away...and it gets cancelled.

Then there's the pachinko machines...Konami is toast with gamers that aren't gamblers.

Make a good game and they will come. Everything else is just lip service which no one really cares for.

Sounds like attempted damage control or just standard PR. I doubt Konami US has any clout with Konami JP whatsoever.

If you, Konami, sincerely want to "earn" people back, consider any of the following:

- Put P.T. back on the PS Store.

- Put P.T. up on other platforms like XBL and Steam.

- Put your backlog up on modern platforms.

- Remaster your 6th and 7th gen titles, without fucking them up like Silent Hill HD, and release them on modern platforms.

- Greenlight any new non-mobile non-browser titles for Metal Gear, Silent Hill, ZoE, Suikoden, Vandal Hearts, Goemon, Castlevania, Contra, Gradius, Parodius, Bomberman, Bloody Roar, Tengai Makyo, etc.

- Remake Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2, Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2, or Metal Gear Solid 3.

- Greenlight Metal Gear Rising Revengance 2

- Revive Silent Hills.

- Lend Yoshitaka Murayama the license to Suikoden in order for him to make Suikoden VI.

- Sell the rights to franchises you are unlikely to develop anything for (sans anything that will lose you revenue from existing titles).

- Treat your entire staff as human beings.

I know I'm crazy, but so are you.

Surely im not the only one that would buy a Konami published/developed game if it looked good right. Make something that looks rad and people will buy it. Boycots have never worked and Konami shouldn't stress it so much.

Contra 5 or nothing.

Honestly that'd be something.

Definitely something more than the second MGS3 remaster this decade. Pretty sure 90% of GAF already has that game laying around in their house somewhere in some form. The fuck is wrong with some people.

The story and background of MGS belongs to Kojima, so I don't want them to kill all that with a "whole new MGS sequel"... Remasters why not, but please don't touch story of Metal Gear...

And about Silent Hill... Well sure I'd like to see a new episode but it certainly won't be as exciting as a Silent Hill made by Kojima and his team. I play Silent Hill since the first episode and would love to see a new episode, I "liked" Homecoming (even if it was really weak compared to the previous ones), but I absolutly hated Downpour, so...

It is an MGSV complete edition and an MGS3 remake. Gamescom is around the corner and you read it first here.

This sounds like one of those disconnects between the different regions, like that Shahid Vita guy promising the clouds.

Konami is dead, as far as I'm concerned.

An MGS3 remake with the Fox Engine & allowing Snake to be in the NX port of Smash 4 would be a great start.

Remake MGS3 then!!!

I don't even want this. There is no way modern Konami wouldn't find a way to ruin it. They should start small with them making some good games before setting themselves up for failure by remaking one of the greatest games of all time.

My hopes are rock bottom. Right now I'd take just getting some old PS2 classics re-released on PS store. I hope to god they just leave Silent Hill dead.

This is pretty hilarious but also kind of sad. Konami has been pretty shit lately but even Capcom has redeemed themselves to some people so I'm sure they can fix their image to an extent. The problem is that the issues with the company are more complex because if the multiple rumors are true, then Konami treats their employees, superstars or not, like shit, so I feel pretty bad for this guy and everyone else working there.

I mean they can definitely win me back if they give Castlevania to a competent dev again (are the people from IGA's team still at Konami?) and maybe a new Contra? Just please never do anything with MercurySteam ever again lmao.

But yeah the company needs a complete overhaul for me to forget about all these disasters any time soon.

Also people asking for MGS games and especially remakes seriously understimate Kojima's involvement in the series lol monkey paw wishes everywhere. I think the only good thing we could get from the series anymore is MGR2 and that's only if Platinum makes it.

Social media manager. What's he doing these days besides hoping to not get sacked? Didn't they even have something at E3? Waste of money.

All it will really take is for the next Metal Gear to simply look promising and everyone will be back on board again, the #fuckkonami crowd is just a vocal minority.

I've never seen a company shit the bed quite like Konami.

Imagine. Imagine if they somehow turned it all around now.
Won't happen.

Impossible, because too many key figures left the company – Hideo Kojima, Koji Igarashi, Yoshitaka Murayama, people from Team Silent, etc. Konami as video game dev company is basically dead.

If they make a good game I'll buy it. I don't give a shit what business decisions they've made in the past.

This, I'm not in any "fuck Konami" mode but I'm not buying their games because they're not releasing any.

They have a good engine so put it to use.

Metal Gear The Legacy Collection on Steam please, Konami. That's all I ask.

Playing MG1, 2, MGS1, 2, 3, 4 and even Peace Walker on PC would be godlike. And then I'll never do business after.

It's easy to win me back, Konami. Just make good games.

I wouldn't pass up a good new Castlevania or a good new Gradius or a good new Silent Hill. I might buy well-made retro collections for those franchises too.

But until something like that pops up there's nothing to talk about.

It might just be to late for Konami to redeem themselves, they have done way to much damage to there reputation. I might start to forgive them if they make Suikoden 6 for PS4.
