Konami Rep Says 'I Hope We Earn You Back'

Stranger things have happened in the video game industry, however, and while it may be difficult for Konami to win back its fans, it’s certainly not impossible. Ben’s approach to the matter, engaging with fans directly on Reddit, could be a step in the right direction, and prove to former Konami enthusiasts that the company cares about their opinions...

it could also just be a complete waste of time. as a matter of fact, i'd say it almost certainly is. someone find ben a real job :) ...

It never ceases to depress me how many amazing franchises are under Konami's umbrella that are just wasting away.

Kojima is a whole different issue, but I honestly feel he'll thrive with the support of Sony. He'll be able to make new stuff again- that, in itself, is a real win in my book.

Everything else? Silent Hill, Contra, Castlevania, Suikoden, Goemon, Silent Scope, just to name a very small few (not to mention some of the old standalone IPs that could easily be resurrected, like Ring of Red or Shadow of Destiny)... just rotting away.

Welp Bemani is being redeemed in the US through Round 1 with eamuse support.

Especially now with Round 1 and DnB getting Dance Dance Revolution Ace in the US.

I haven't read the whole thread, so I'll just say it (again?):

Konami will announce something new at gamescom 2016. What I don't know but I do have an appointment for said game.

Probably some news about pro evolution soccer since its coming in september?

They never lost me, honestly.

Between an abundance of Metal Gear content, Lords of Shadow, and great legacy releases across Virtual Console/XBLA/PSN and the Arcade Archives line, I've been pretty happy with Konami over the last few years.

More goodwill gestures certainly wouldn't hurt, though.

Ben? You have met with a terrible fate haven't you?

Konami? What Konami?
Just keep you hands off from those creative reboot from kickstarters, and stick with you erotic pachinko no body cares about.

I think that just giving everyone PT back would go a long way. I mean, it certainly wouldn't forgive everything, but it would be a nice, substantial, and meaningful first step.

They could redeem themselves by giving away all of their licensed IPs to publishers and developers who aren't a massive bunch of bellends.

If anything it'd be a sad reminder of the future they erased, and probably cause further grief.

Start making MGS3 Remake for current gen console.
And then follow it with MGR2.
If you can do it, I'll think back our relationship once more........

Step 1: MGR2

I never said i wouldnt buy a Konami game if they made a good one, I'm pretty much over the #FucKonami thing honestly.

MGSV was a damn good incomplete game and Silent Hills looked like a dream scenario for the franchise that was just too good to be true. Kojima's in a better place and MGS had a good run of 8 or so games, im fine with it being over.

Sucks that we likely wont see anything good out of their IPs for a couple years at least, though.

Bring back the P.T. demo and with it bring back silent hills including all the talent behind ALL OF THEM NO EXCEPTION, release a GOOD hd collection of all the silent hill without bullshit, apologize publicly to kojima ,let him do chapter 3 , do mgr2 , mgs 3 remake with fox engine then if you do all that maybe we can talk about it konami.
Meanwhile #fuckonami .

Is this what it feels like to have an abusive spouse beg you to take them back, saying that they've changed, and every part of you wants to believe them but you know they're just gonna get drunk again?

Yo, guys.

Please don't hate on the general staff at Konami.

I'm about as #fuckonami as everyone else here, but remember, you're angry at upper management in japan, the people who have made these utterly stupid business decisions, and the people who treated devs like kojima (and many others, by the way!) like shit.

Do NOT get angry at the Developers, Designers, Artists, Testers, and Support Staff. (And yes, there are STILL plenty of people at Konami both in the US and Japan! It was never JUST Kojima.)
They're trying to do what they can under a bad situation, and are very likely the only people at Konami we could possibly count on to try and turn things around.

Give them all the support and love you can so they can confidently tell their higher ups to Get with the fucking program!

I just want to see more metal gear 5 single player missions / locations . That would be a small little bit of goodwill to slowly start building your trust.

No more fob/microtransaction bs , you have a solid engine/gameplay thanks to kojima, use it.

True, but it seems like most of the people that made Konami great are no longer there. The people behind Silent Hill and Metal Gear are gone.

Hope they go the way of THQ, and have their assets taken apart like a buffalo carcass laying out in the desert sun. It's the only way the ip's they're holding hostage will ever see the light of day.

Ugh, do people here really want a Snake Eater remake? What a complete waste of time. Snake Eater still looks and plays fine. It doesn't need to be remade, especially in the way that most people here seem to want it (exactly the same on a new engine.)

None of the other MGS games need to be remade as well. I think a remake of the first two metal gear games would far more interesting. However, I would much rather prefer something new if they were gonna make another MGS.

Honestly the only one that really fucks over is the devs / studios related to the company. As all the execs will get golden parachutes while everyone else will be left with jack & shit.

Trust me been there good times...

Is a pachinko machine really going to make more money than a full MGS3 remake in Fox Engine?

I know it obviously costs way, way less to make a pachinko machine and its accompanying animated videos.

Meh at more Metal Gear, that series needed to end a while ago and Kojima still fucked up twice. Give me more Goemon, now that's a series that deserves to go on.
