KINGSGLAIVE: Final Fantasy XV Thread: Everything for the future king

Completely off topic but they put my son on it I don't like what it does.

That sucks.

It's a complicated drug because, like everything with dopaminergic action, it acts differently depending on endogenous neurotransmitter balance in prefrontal cortex and basal ganglia, so can have idiosyncratic effects.

I might be able to point you toward some resources, pm me if you want - I'm not clinical so can't give specific medical advice but have a PhD in psychology and three years in a neuroscience post-doc

Maybe I should take notes from Noctis....

Also used to treat narcolepsy actually :p

I don't have a problem with game Ravus.

Definitely prefer Kingsglaive's version but there's worse designs than that in the game. Apparent removal of hood is a bummer though.

I took that as prescribed for 6 months in 2011. Eventually got off of it as it was causing too much euphoria and rediculous goofy thoughts. The experience actually had a long term benefit for me but I wouldn't take it again. Certainly wouldn't suggest kids use it.

Trying to avoid any and all spoilers, since I'm kind of on black out on media about this game until release, but to get the best experience out of FFXV proper, should I go in completely blind, or should I watch Kingsglaive and Brotherhood right before?

Or should I only watch them after. Please let me know. Thanks guys.

Watching them first makes you care for the narrative and they introduce you to backstory that will be appreciated when you play the game.

The game follows up after the film in terms of timeline. Can't really say due to not knowing much the game will cover but significant events occur in the film that will surely be acknowledged in the game.

I'm not famillar with Vudu, could this listing be legit? That's a little over a month from now with almost a month till the game release. Seems like a good date actually.

Vudu is very legit. They are Walmart's digital movie and tv distribution channel. I haven't seen them put up a preorder with a date and price if they don't have the appropriate information before. They don't use placeholder dates (a date is just not given if they don't have one). So it seems correct to me.

So this is getting released in blu-ray in spain by Sony Pictures, with Brotherhood included and all... but they are calling it "Final Fantasy XV La Película". FFXV: The Movie. Are you fucking kidding me?

Square Enix is determined to make Final Fantasy XV one of the biggest releases of the year. It doesn't matter if the demand isn't there -- there's a billion things you can consume related to it, including an anime series (with a packed-in final episode in the Special Edition), spinoff games, two demos, and a whole lot more.

Another big XV joint is Kingsglaive, the big budget CGI film that has one massively expensive English voiceover cast. According to box office recepits from Japan (having premiered earlier this month) it's grossed 105,611,860 Yen (very close to one million USD). As Siliconera points out, this actually is quite good since it's only being shown in 44 theaters. Reactions from viewers in Japan have also been positive.

It will also be released in "select theaters" in the US on August 19. I'll be watching it eventually by way of the Deluxe Edition of XV I ordered earlier this year. I don't have high hopes but I have heard decent things from friends who have seen it.

That's really nice. Hope that comes to Brazil

I canceled my deluxe edition to get the blu ray edition that comes with the anime, idk why deluxe doesn't include the anime too.

I really like how Ravus looks in-game. That's some evil look if I ever saw it.

He gives off a very Sephiroth-y air.

I really hope he knocks it out of the park as a villain. I truly want someone to surpass Sephiroth and Kefka.

I want them to bring the movie to Brazil, but not gonna happen, at least we are getting FF XV in portuguese over here, so I won't complain about it =p

You live in Brazil?

My best friends lives there. He won't be able to play FF XV since he doesn't own a PS4 (he didn't even get a PS3 until two years ago due to the expensive price), but he's glad it'll have a Portuguese dub. He says not many games support that.

I live. FF XV will be the first console game from Square that will have portuguese language. The others companies that do the same for us are: Activision, Ubisoft, Sony, Microsoft, Blizzard, EA and Bandai Namco.

Would a Portuguese speaker understand a Spanish dub well enough?

Well, I hope Enix keeps offering a Portuguese dub in their games. :)

I'm not sure when Ubisoft started with the dub, but my friend learned a lot of English from Assassin's Creed II.

Would a Portuguese speaker understand a Spanish dub well enough?

I have no idea; I'll have to ask my friend that.

Them saying that they decided to work on this movie right when they knew the Versus project switched to XV doesn't add up to Nomura saying that they decided that Versus was going to be XV since 2011.

Maybe they meant when the project switched from Nomura to Tabata, though.

Yeah, in order for timely release I guess Tabata decided to chop up the story to be consumed in different ways. Hence, the story changes.

Still no word on what theaters is the movie being screened, if the deals aren't closed yet they could release a base list and then keep adding theaters. They are waiting too much.

I thought I heard Kishimoto say that they would announce something tonight?
